TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Just had a neighbor who I rarely see and whose name I don't know ask me, repeatedly and demandingly, how much a dog like Bruce costs. I don't know what his deal was, but I'm getting a door alarm.

+Slowswift Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Rrrrgh Fast Sunday. On the bright side, only one and a half hours until I can down 2 liters of Dr. Pepper.

The ones rated "best of the best" were of course pretty far out of my price range, but this one has good reviews and should do the trick.

Left he/him Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I'm all done, I got home from church and made myself some DELICIOUS breakfast pizza. Oh so very good.
Delightful Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I saw a hebrew post, it roughly translates to: sometimes im convinced that angels exist. They simply wear the shape of dogs. 3

Sunbird she/her Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 What. I was just going through old photos on my phone and deleting some that no longer have any relevance, and found a photo of a goose in the water next to the Statue of Liberty from when my high school marching band took a trip there... (This is a photo from Google, not mine, just for ease of uploading.) Looks kinda like a regular Canada Goose at first glance, right? It's called a Brant, and I'm like 95% sure that trip to New York was the only time I've ever seen one. And I had completely forgotten about it until I came across the picture in my phone! XD Surprise life bird! 1
Mistbornwithakitty she/her Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, I was shopping with my mother today and saw something you would've liked. Pug-shaped soap with a "special" pug sort of scent apparently. I wish I'd had a camera on me. lol.

Hemalurgic Headshot he/him Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 But the real question is: was it good chili?
Sunbird she/her Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 @Hemalurgic_Headshot In my experience, there is no such thing as bad chili.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 @Cognizantastic Maybe she thought the smell of cooking food would be comforting? Obviously, not everyone likes the smell of chili, but maybe that's what she thought?
Hemalurgic Headshot he/him Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I like the smell of chili.
marsoupial they/them Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 @Cognizantastic are you certain this is a hospital you're volunteering at? Sounds pretty... strange.
Sunbird she/her Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 @Silverblade5 I think that's a very well written essay, especially considering that the prompt was rather vague. Your ideas flowed logically from one thought to the next: I liked how after introducing your chosen angle, you talked first about people who accepted technology in both empires, and then about those who rejected it. I think the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph ("Because this history was government sponsored, it had to have had a positive reception") could possibly be a little clearer. The way it's currently worded, I kinda got the impression that it was impossible for the government to do anything that displeased the people simply because they were the government, but I have a hunch that you probably meant that the report had to put a positive spin on things in order to please the government who commissioned it. IMO the essay definitely shows that you are a skilled and thoughtful writer who can read between the lines and make deductions from the subcontext. Well done! 2

What were some other problems you saw? How well did I integrate the documents? How well did I provide context and POV for said documents? How was my synthesis? What was wrong with the conclusion? Tell me everything that was wrong with it. Edited February 6, 2017 by Silverblade5
Shqueeves Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 @Silverblade5, I have a list of everything that the APWH test looks for in an essay. When I find it I'll do a full review of your essay, including the score you would get 1
