I could bring out Bone. She's a weird bone obsessed bone manipulating creepy Epic.

I remember her! She's the one that likes to turn people into fleshbags in the literal sense by taking all of their bone-related mass away! She'd be fun! May I, oh devoted of the winter, be allowed to fight with your most bone-acular epic?^_^

... not when compared to nighthound... or my one try at making a creepy epic that was never fully realized. I called him Nightvale before I gave up on him; for obvious reasons. ^_^

Hey, winter, don't you also play one of the announcers?

Maybe you exploded yourself as a form of regeneration and took longer to come back than expected?

Well, now that I think about it, Winterspell was just about to start his public duel. So if that post is meant to be in continuity, he won't find him in his fortress.

haha very true! He isn't my original character- I adopted him after his owner went off on an LDS mission. My original characters aren't so icey ;)

And yes, I will pm you!

@Captains Domon, glad to see you posting, but generally we don't jump forward a whole day like that.  Things tend to move a little slower.  Also given the level of Chaos in Corvallis right now, I'm not sure if such an isolated attack would make the news or not (though it would make it to the police).

In general great post!  Sorry to all that alive been quiet.  Hoping to post soon.

Hey, thanks for the welcome! Sorry about the jump. You guys can finish the day and the incident(post) with Shattered can be as you said, 'isolated'. Hopefully, I didn't screw things up.

Maybe just take out the bit about the radio?  We can have that come in on a police scanner in person the next day?  Or you could just leave it as coming from a police report later.

The main issue that that last bit doesn't really come from Shattered's point of view, which makes things difficult.  Generally most posts (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this) for this RP use third person limited.

Since I don't think the Queen's would let an attack this small take up Radio time (their narrative is that Corvallis is still safe, so they wouldn't want to mention violence they don't have to mention), maybe it would be better to just take it out for now?  Also, I missed where the discussion ended up on his personality divide and powers.

Secondly, now that I've caught up, I couldn't find where you addressed the concerns I raised about Shattered's personality disorder (or my suggestion that you introduce a non-epic first).  Do you mind pointing me to where you posted that (sorry that I missed).  Personally, I'm still not sure about the complexity of the character, and would like to see more of Arthur first.

Here's my comments, for reference:

I agree that Arthur is the most interesting at the moment, and I thought we were trying to avoid direct connections with Phaedrus to avoid canon wrecking.

Also, I keep meaning to post this here, but I'm pretty sure my prediction about Taylor Swift becoming/being replaced by an epic is coming true.

Calamity really is here you guys! (slight language warning in the last few seconds)

I will edit that spot. I'll be more careful next time. It will be a police report.

I will PM you about what powers augment when. Your concerns will also be addressed. I do have a non-Epic character ready for Corvallis, but he will come later. Don't worry. I'll explain everything.

I appreciate everyone for liking Arthur, but he's in The Dalles if you want to see him. (I did do a short intro post for him.)

G'day, mates. Rodel is joining the Wastelands. I am taking @Hemalurgic_Headshot's advice and making a nomadic group. They call themselves the Sojourners. Their main area will be the entire Outback, mainly in Queensland and the Northern Territory. But they will sometimes move farther out. And who knows? They may end up in Darwin or Perth. Here we go.

The Sojourners:

Spoiler

There are eight members in the group.

Braxton Shetler:

Spoiler

Name: Braxton Shetler

Age: 34

Description: Braxton Shetler's entire family, save one, was killed by Epics in the town Borroloola. Pained by his loss, he has vowed to protect his daughter, Sherri. He is 6'5'', with stark, shoulder length, blond hair and green eyes. He utilizes a sword, as well as knives.

Sherri Shetler:

Spoiler

Name: Sherri Shetler

Age: 13

Description: Sherri is the youngest member of the group. She is quite adventurous for her age, and is quite exasperated about her over-protective father. Sherri also loves books and collects any she finds. She is 5'8'', with blond hair and green eyes, just her dad. Because of her father, she is allowed no weapons.

Adoni:

Spoiler

Name: Adoni

Age: 50

Description: Adoni is an Aboriginal man who follows the traditional methods of his people. He believes the Epics to be the gods' way of punishing them. Adoni is also quite fascinated with American songs, especially from the 70's and 80's. He is about 5'10'', with black hair and brown eyes. He utilizes archery, spears, and will also occasionally use a machete.

Berrigan Stephens:

Spoiler

Name: Berrigan Stephens

Age: 29

Description: Berrigan Stephens is a helpless womanizer. Since he left home before Calamity rose, he has no idea if his family is still alive. He means well, but sometimes sounds if he doesn't care. Berrigan is 6'3'', with brown hair and blue eyes. He does not have a standard weapon, preferring to use a gun and discard said gun when he finds a new one.

Emma Wexler:

Spoiler

Name: Emma Wexler

Age: 32

Description: Emma Wexler was an American tourist in Sydney when Epics attacked. She fled to Alice Springs, where she eventually met the Shetlers. She was studying botany in America, and is fascinated with the desert plants. She is 5'10'', and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Emma doesn't like weapons, but uses a Glock, just to get Braxton off his back.

Mitchell Davison:

Spoiler

Name: Mitchell Davison

Age: 23

Description: Mitchell is very out of place. He loves technology, which is a rare commodity in the Outback. He is socially awkward, but tries his best. He was a college student on vacation when the Epics came. He was shunted from group to group until Braxton took him under his wing. Mitchell is about 6'0'', and has red hair with blue eyes. He uses a pistol he found in a house.

Carmen Jimenez-Rulfo:

Spoiler

Name: Carmen Jimenez-Rulfo

Age: 22

Description: Carmen's parents are from Guatemala, but she moved to Australia shortly before Calamity rose. Her father was in the military, thus giving her personal training in combat and knowledge. Surprisingly, she loves the brutality of killing, which somewhat isolates her from the group. Carmen is 5'9'', with brown hair and brown eyes. She'll use any weapons on hand, but prefers a rifle.

Unbreakable:

Spoiler

Epic Name: Unbreakable

Real Name: ?

Age: 37

Description: Unbreakable became an Epic about a year after Calamity. His power is total invulnerability to physical attacks. His secondary power is heightened senses. He was captured by the group, who kept alive for Sherri's sake. He is desperate to prove himself worthy, but only Mitchell and Sherri trust him fully. He is 6'7'' and has blond hair and brown eyes. He doesn't have a weapon, but is used as an alarm system because of his senses.

So that's the gang. I very excited to start. First post soonish.

Queensland? Like, Brisbane? You can come visit us and cause some mayhem by the way, but the TEN probably won't hesitate to eliminate the threat ^_^

Also, anyone who wants to join the Brisbane Bandits, PM me.

Brisbane will promise security however if you truce with us (obviously security isn't totally promised in the Wastelands but that can cause some good arguments after some of the crew are killed in a forthcoming attack)

I saw the intro post.  What I meant was I'd like to see you write with Arthur or a different character more before you tackle a character with as much going on as Shattered in Corvallis.  I'm concerned about how you will integrate him into existing plots in Corvallis at this point, and would prefer for you to start with a less complicated character.  You don't need a rare and prevalently misunderstood disorder to develop complex character plots and conflicts. That's just my opinion though, so do what you will.

For Shattered, I'm also still concerned about the number of powers he has (It's quite the list), but I guess there's nothing preventing him from having that many.  For the corruption, I don't know exactly how it would work with multiple personalities (another reason I'm leary of the concept without further research), but I think it should be affecting them all.

Hi, welcome aboard! :)

My one concern is Unbreakable- he seems to be a High Epic, even if he has no impressive powers beyond invulnerability, and I'm not sure he fits in numbers-wise to the world. Are there any High Epic slots left in Brisbane/Queensland for him?

Yeah I don't like the idea of a big list of powers like that.

I'm fine with someone using a Multiple Personality character, as long as a little research is done so the disorder isn't misrepresented. But i see no reason for the personalities to have their own powers- powers are inherent to biology, not psychology.

Steelheart had five powers, and David remarked that that was rare. So while it would be fine for him to have say, two or three powers, I think it would be better if each 'alter' simply used those three powers in their own way. They each have all powers, but they utilise them differently. That sort of thing.

All right, so I realize I didn't specify on Shattered so I will do it here.

Shattered's powers include super strength, night vision, enhanced agility, flight, heat vision, skills in hand-to-hand and fencing, enhanced senses, and regenerating cells. But some of these powers only augment in certain personalities. The following is a list of his personalities and what powers they show:

1. Derek Ian Gallagher(Derek, surprisingly, does not have powers)

2. B.A. (B.A. shows signs of super strength, enhanced agility, and enhanced senses) However, enhancement of senses are limited. He has a tendency to rush and attack rather than to think things through.

3. MacGyver (MacGyver shows signs of night vision, enhanced senses, and skills in hand-to-hand) MacGyver is immensely afraid of heights. While it is Shattered's main weakness, it seems to affect him the most.

4. KITT (KITT shows signs of night vision and enhanced agility) KITT is the most logical, tending to evaluate, then deciding the way to attack. He prefers to 'coach' the other personalities rather than control himself. He is the weakest of the personalities.

5. Ferris Bueller (Ferris Bueller shows signs of regenerating cells and heat vision) Ferris is insane. None of the personalities trust him. The rare times that Ferris does take control, he uses heat vision to devastating effect.

6. Luke Skywalker (Luke Skywalker shows signs of super strength, flight, and enhanced senses) Luke is cocky, never thinking about what could happen.

7. Voltron (Voltron shows signs of flight and heat vision) Voltron is a true Epic. He does not care for the lives of humans.

8. Black Ranger (Black Ranger shows signs of skills in hand-to-hand, fencing, and enhanced agility) Black Ranger is frightened of failure, usually exerting himself to the breaking point.

The other thing is that the super strength that Shattered possesses is not standard. The most that Shattered can lift is almost 14 tons. Any more overwhelms him. I hope these powers are spread out enough that it doesn't cause a problem. One of these days, if the time is right and everyone's okay with it, Shattered may go 'Super Saiyan' and display all powers at once, but I don't know when that will be.

Unbreakable, though invulnerable, is very susceptible on the other side of things. He succumbs to smoke and gas very easily, which is how the Sojourners captured him.

Hopefully, I spread it out evenly enough among his personalities that it's not a big issue.

As for the disorder, I have been studying it extensively to make sure I do not misinterpret it.

Yeah but I think 8 powers is too many. You'd need to reduce it to at most five I think.
