Bluest she/her Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 My Character: Name: Chrona Real Name: Diana Deorum Age:16 Gender: Female Description: She is white, 5 feet and 2 inches tall, has long, straight, brown hair and green eyes. She usually wears a t-shirt, jeans, and a running jacket and carries around a backpack with 2 hair ties, a quarter pound of jerky, 3 books, 2 notebooks, 5 pencils, a rain poncho, a calculator, 2 bottles of water, a first aid kit, and a knife in it. She also carries around a dagger (outside of backpack) because she has horrible aim and if she had a gun she would do more harm than good. Oh, and she is an epic. Epic Power: the ability to speed up/slow down/ stop time for 20 minutes an hour (in small bursts or for the whole 20 minutes) Weakness: Do I have to put it? Backround: Diana grew up in Henderson, Nevada with her family. [mom: Emily Deorum (dead) dad: Peter Deorum (dead) older sister: Minerva Deorum (status unknown) twin brother: Apollo Deorum (dead) younger sister: Thalia Deorum (status unknown)] Her mom and dad taught latin at College of Southern Nevada. One day, she and her family (other than her brother, who died of a ________ bite a while before) were in McCarren airport. An epic attacked and she, her parents, and her sisters were separated. She and some other people hid out for days, until, one day, the epic found them. Her parents were part of the group, and they and most of the others were killed. 3 years later, she developed powers. During her (I can't remember what it is called, the part of their lives where they try to kill everyone they were close to) she tried to find her sisters, Minerva and Thalia, but failed. She is no longer looking fo them, but is still afraid they will be her downfall. P.S. I hope this is where I put this. Please allow me to join.

If she's an Epic, shouldn't she be dressing in a way that distances her from her old life with all its weaknesses? The crazy prepared aspect made me think (and hope, if I'm being honest) for a minute that she was an ordinary human, since Epics usually turn their attention more toward conquering what they can and taking what they need from the ruins. All of those supplies show more foresight than most canon Epics ever showed. 1 hour ago, frost said: Epic Power: the ability to speed up/slow down/ stop time for 20 minutes an hour (in small bursts or for the whole 20 minutes) That….seems like too large a window for this RP's mechanics. Time Epics are tricky in a game like this, where none of us really know what is going to happen a page or so from now, and a character who can stop time for 20 minutes at a stretch would throw a wrench in the works for everyone else. For reference, we have one time Epic (whose player is currently on hiatus), and he can travel two minutes ahead. The only time he was able to travel back, and for longer than two minutes, was when he got a boost from an Epic named Upgrade; and even then, he was only able to go back about an hour. How does her corruption manifest? And does she have any powers besides the time manipulation?
Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) So what if an Epic had a peace power like Alf Seidr? I'm thinking something like, the power to "remove" anything the Epic sees as a weapon. Which would be alot of fun to work with. Does the epic see your words as weapons? BAM you're tongue-tied. Are you about to punch someone? BAM your arm is frozen in space-time. Oh? You're thinking about how that knife would look good lodged in my skull? BAM, you now have a splitting migraine that won't let you think clearly and overtake your senses. It's cool because well, it's completely subjective. The Epic could be extremely paranoid, and end up freezing everyone or something. It probably won't work RP wise But might make a good fan-fic. Bleh I get these massive pangs of regret 'bout not joining this around when I joined the Shard heh. Edited April 7, 2017 by Darkness Ascendant

I don't have an issue the preparedness as much, Epic personalities have been shown to vary pretty wildly outside of the whole massive vanity thing, though our view of them might be a bit skewed since the Reckoners mostly only came into contact with quite powerful Epics. But in terms of powers 20 minutes is a pretty long time and time stopping in particular is a pretty strong power, I'd suggest either shortening it to pretty short bursts or changing it to just speeding and slowing. Also: @DreamLord_Erith could you use a smaller sized icon for your character heading in Salem? I resized a copy if you need it, it just breaks the page flow a bit when half the post length is the header.

OK. Her power is to speed or slow time and she can only do it 12 minutes an hour. Only she and anyone/anything isn't affected by the time speed change. Edited April 7, 2017 by frost added something

To her, that comes before distancing herself from her past. Edited April 7, 2017 by frost

Her corruption manifests in killing normal people, and in stealing from unimportant epics, and sometimes putting them in embarrassing situations/poses and then watching what happens. She has no other powers. (unless you have any suggestions, because all the ones I'm thinking of are too OP or over done)
Voidus Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 @Edgedancer sorry it's been a while, what were the plans with NT/Nighthound/Lucentia?

They were currently in a conversation and after that, I believe the plan was the psychological play of getting C4 a new dress as a "reward" in her role of "rescuing" Neverthere, as a first step tpwards enforcing that Nighthound "isn't all that bad" as long as she behaves and is a good pet and everything else is her fault for misbehaving.

marsoupial they/them Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Do y'all mind if I post next and make it that, in her search for the kitchen, Dr F accidentally poofs down to below the museum and finds Jude, thus spurring his narrative forward a bit? Unless you guys have further plans, of course.

Sorry we're taking so long.
Cosmere Savant Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Hey I was wondering, are there any threads that are in the earlier stages, or still accepting joiners? If all existing threads are too far progressed should I start a new one?
Edgedancer he/him Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Astoria, Corvallis and Salem are still very much in the earlier stages.
