Gavilar's death

Recommended Posts

What do you think the purpose of Gavilar's last words were? And what was the stone that he gave to Szeth to give to Dalinar? Anyone got any ideas? Especially about the stone.

Dalinar deduces that Gavilar's last words are a quote from "The Way of Kings". It is never explained what the "most important words a man can say" are. Dalinar's quest to find out what the words are encourages his obsession with the book and following its teachings.

Yeah. EVERYTHING is wild speculation at this point. I wonder what the most important words a man can say are?

How many books do you reckon it will be before we find out?

The only thing that seems to make sense at this point in time are the Ideals of Honor, in that they make the person saying them all magical and powerful and stuff :)

Hard to say if that is what is meant, though.

That was my exact thought when I finished Way of Kings... the most important words a man can say are the Oaths to become a Knight Radiant so that men are defended once more
