Sexual Orientation?

Hey guys. Due to some recent buzz on the "Relationships" thread, I figured I could make a thread where we can feel safe talking about LGBT+ problems without having to worry about derailing other topics. Also, it'd be super cool to get a feel of the sexual dispersion (?) here on the Shard. This is a learning space, where others' opinions can be respected and, ideally, you can learn something from them.

Please only post on this topic if you feel comfortable doing so.

This Edgedancer is also a hetero guy, so I guess we can be boring together.:P

I say this in jest, I know many hetero guys (actually, most all the guys I know fall under said category), and they're mostly all quality fellows. The other not-so-quality ones are not so quality not due to their straight-ness.

(Try not to think about that too hard. I barely comprehend it and I wrote the thing.)

Oh I'm perfectly aware. I'm just jesting a bit myself.

Well...

I'm genderqueer, I identify as both genders and sort of... switch in-between. Sometimes I feel like a laidback dude or I get really upbeat and peppy as a girl. It depends, I think it's a hormonal thing.

But that's not the topic, so sexual orientation wise... pansexual. But if I had to break it down, guys generally tend to come first in my mind.

I really like Ambisextrous, from The Wise Mans Fear.

So thats what Im going to call it from now on.

I like that one too (I read about the first half of WMF but had to return it to the library and never got around to getting back to it) but I'm left handed. It would be more applicable if I was, in fact, ambidextrous.

You know what you need to do, train up your right hand.

'Cause then I can call myself ambisextrous...?

...nah, not worth it.

I'll just stick with "switch hitter" and "I like dudes and chicks get over it."

I use that second one more often than you'd think, due to my location.

Its totally worth it. I sometimes sit on jokes for months before I find a situation to use it.

Eh...I've made enough oblique references that I might as well just say it: Kinsey 5, though "gay" takes less time to say.

I'm pretty sure at this point, anyway. I might just go with "Apache helicopter" as my official answer.:P

I also will occasionally identify as "Apache helicopter." I'm one of those male Apache helicopters that also likes women.

I was waiting for Apache Helicopters to show up :D anyway, to contribute to this topic I must say I don't even personally know anyone who isn't heterosexual, so I find everything I read about it quite interesting.

What's the difference between pansexual and bisexual?

There's not much of a difference imo; I used to identify as pan, now bi. I think it's mostly personal preference. People think bisexual is more exclusive, just guys and girls no in between, but I don't think that way. I don't factor in gender when attraction is the subject matter.

And hey, @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, I didn't know about the Kinsey scale until you mentioned it! Kinsey 3.
