Hey @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, you inspired me to also check out the album "The Black Parade" from my library and listen to it, and I can see why you love it! I love it too. :) When I got to the song "Welcome to the Black Parade," the repetitive piano riff at the beginning sounded really really familiar. Does anyone know if that riff (or a very similar one) has been used in another song?

MCR BUDDIES

I don't know, but then again, I'd never heard it anywhere else. Every song is fantastic, but "Famous Last Words" is my favorite.

Now you just have to do the same with Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. I also got Danger Days, which is different and fun, but so far, I like their darker stuff better.

So I started listening to MCR too (yer a trendsetter Twi)....not a particular album just random songs on YouTube. I definitely like buuuut it does get a little screamy-headache-inducing after a while. Also the automatic play-next thing kept switching to fallout boy, and then for some reason One Republic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am dying of laughter but also kind of sad... I'm subscribed to BookBub, which--for anyone who isn't familiar with it--is a service that sends you a daily email about free or discounted ebooks according to the preferences you set regarding what genres, authors, and ebook formats you like. Today's email included a book called Moonlight (what an original title! NOT), and this was the blurb about it:

Werewolf Stalkson Grey must embark on a dangerous mission to save his people. But he never expected to fall in love with a human along the way… Can he prove his affection to beautiful Luna?

How much more cliched could you get with the character names? I mean seriously, a werewolf named Stalkson Grey falling in love with a girl named Luna? SMH.

Doesn't look like it, though the Amazon description does say it's a retelling of the Big Bad Wolf fairytale. It has lots of positive reviews on Amazon and is apparently the 4th in a popular paranormal romance series. I think the names are just a case of laziness on the author's part.

Also: I think I figured out why the piano riff in "Welcome to the Black Parade" sounds so familiar to me. The first several notes sound a lot like the chorus of the song "Reflection" from the Disney movie Mulan, specifically the line "When will my reflection show who I am inside?"

No, you see when he was born he was as delicate as a flower but his parents didn't want to pick an obvious name like Flowerface and Rose Thornton sounded too menancing, so they settled on Stalkson.:P

Yay for trendsetting!

And, yeah, their style isn't for everyone. Their older stuff has more screaming, though it still shows up in The Black Parade and Danger Days. As for the playlist….I can see where Fall Out Boy would make sense (they were contemporaries and often lumped into the "emo" genre) but One Republic? That's like adding Coldplay to a playlist of Disturbed and Ozzy Osbourne.

Indeed they shall. Methinks I'll go with red this time. Last time I got highlights, they were blonde. They also wound up taking over my head to the point that when I dyed my hair back to my natural brown, some of my coworkers didn't recognize me at first. But a nice red—that will be a much less militant takeover, should it happen.

It wouldn't be the first time a parody succeeded because no one got the joke. Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote cartoons were created as a parody of unrealistic cartoon physics in Tom and Jerry, and wound up becoming popular because no one understood that they were supposed to be a parody. Cracked covers that and others here.

Spoiler

On a slightly off-topic note, I reiterate my opinion: Remus Lupin's parents were tempting fate. Seriously. They may as well have named him "Wolfy McWereson, Please Come Bite Our Son, Mister Greyback."

@Kestrelin those situations just smile and wave to the camera :P bit honestly I doubt that anyone is watching this particular feed of a trash can, the rest of the shopping mall is more important to security :)

I woke up this morning, for the second morning in a row, more tired than usual. Most everything in my apartment was normal, except my tennis shoes. I'd left them on the floor near the front door last night, but this morning, they were propped up against the wall on their heels, left shoe on the right and right shoe on the left. Both of my locks were engaged, as I'd left them when I went to sleep

That...that's weird, right? Kinda freaky? Should I freak out?

That does sound somewhat weird. Do you have any cameras you could put up to see if you're sleepwalking or something?
