Entirely related note, I found out that my city's police department and/or legal system is corrupt and greedy. In the state of Oregon, it is not illegal to drive through a parking lot without parking, unless you are in Newberg or Gresham. It's a stupid law, with a hundred dollar fine, unless you take a Diversion course, which basically means you pay $50 and take an 8 hour 'High Risk Driving Safety Course'. And of course, pay the $250 Court Fee. There's a $250 dollar fee, to be declared innocent. Or guilty. Either way, if you get pulled over, whether or not it's your fault, you get dinged $250. If you get accused of a crime, appear in court and get found innocent, it's $250. As far as I can tell, Newberg is the only city in Oregon with that High of a fee. 2

I got stuck behind an old person who decided to take a turn at a busy intersection so slowly that the light changed while I was still in the intersection. Because of this innocent mistake that harmed absolutely no one, I was fined just over $300. As for how to earn it....I'm not sure. When do you need it by?
