I was actually just looking for that exact image to reply to that same thing.

It's beautiful.

I now have a hankering to watch the first Captain America movie, but I don't want to download anything from a potentially suspicious website and I don't feel like plunking down $19.99 to buy it off iTunes. :/

Have you heard of a thing called VidAngel?

I actually got to rewatch the first Cap movie just before the whole Hydra thing came out. I'd spent basically all the night before raving about how Cap is just so fundamentally good. It added another layer to the fact that this whole thing makes No Sense™.

The movies stream, right? And when you sell it back, is the refund immediate, or does it take a few weeks?

Another piece of evidence that Nick Spencer has never read Captain America comics before now. -_-

One has lead to another, and now I post this:

70ae3d2e2c1766b06904ee5e20578436.jpg

I had an idea about two opponents who had respect for each other. Long ago they learned that ambushing each other still wasn't doing the trick, so now they greet each other before they try to cut each other to pieces.

Then the idea grew.

What if there's more than just respect for a worthy opponent? What if it was more of a love-hate relationship but not on the axis of love but on the axis of rivalry? They've become some sort of a sparring partners in duels to the death, which up to this day both of them survived?

Now as they approach each other and they know that it must be the final fight, they discover they don't actually want to do it?

Another angle: two friends who sought out powers to Resolve Some Conflict discover that the nature of these powers is to make the bearers fight each other to death. One power must win and the other has to die. Then the winner is somehow essential to the world. After his work is done, he passes away and both powers are reborn. And the cycle continues.

Attempting to not fight or make a double suicide could result in destroying the universe. Or something.

The whole scene would be about them coming at each other, their dialogue. Maybe they stick their swords into the ground and talk all night. And then, when the dawn approaches, they get up and grab their swords.

Yeah. And the sell back is pretty immediate. They sell it back in store credit, so the first movie you watch is maybe a $15 investment, but after that movies are covered by the credit so it's about $1 or $2 per movie.

Was that too confusing?

Oh, no, not at all. :) In that case, I think I'll wait until payday to make an account, just because between rushing Bruce to the vet after the strange bug incident and paying the rent, I'm not in the mood to spend more than a few dollars at the moment. But it definitely sounds like it's worth the investment.

You don't have to set the filters, do you?

I'm not sure, since I just signed up like 10 minutes ago. :P But if you have to, it looks like you could always just set the filters for the opening and closing credits.

There's also a Jar Jar filter for the Star Wars movies.

I wrote something, it may have a little shard unfriendly language though, but you may want to read it anyway, so have a link.

I liked it. It kind of felt a little….thin, though. Like, it could've used a few more lines to really heighten the horror of what was happening.

I agree. It needs a bit more build up, maybe a character or two more. I'll get to that one of these days XD Im so bad at rewriting stuff...

You know what'd be awesome?

An app, maybe called "What's for Dinner?" or something, that lets you plug in the ingredients you have on hand, that'll come up with a list of recipes you can make without having to go to the store.

Yeah. That'd be great.

That would be awesome. It doesn't sound to difficult to make either. It would just need to chcek which recipes have ingredients you don't have, and remove them from the list.

I think there's a website for that. Can't remember the address, though.  -_-

Exactly, or list substitutions somehow.

And it's all good. Methinks I'll make chicken pot pie with biscuit crust (since one downside to studio apartments is the lack of counter space to roll out a pie crust).

Also, can anyone who's bought it tell me if pet insurance is worth it?

That's something to discuss with your vet. It'll depend on what medical costs you think you'll incur and what the vet and emergency veterinarian services (what you would really want it for) will accept.

For me, my cat is currently the model of cat health, so I don't have it, though I have a specific credit card that can only be used for veterinarian costs.

I'll see what the vet says when I take him for his appointment on Friday, then. He seems pretty healthy, but I think he has allergies that Benadryl can't quite control. It might be nothing, might be something, and then of course there was the strange bug incident.

But, I'll see what the verdict is.

I very much want something like that but for making drinks. Those apps would be perfect if they could keep a database of ingredients. Because inputting manually the content of the whole fridge would be tiresome.

For the past few seasons, I've had fun drawing an aesop from each episode of Buffy. Things like….

Living vicariously through your children is supremely selfish, and once you start down that path, there's no telling how deeply you'll wound your kids. (From the episode where we meet Amy's mom)

Sharing the spotlight might be annoying, but there's strength in numbers. Let your common interests outweigh your hurt feelings, and you'll walk away with a friend. (From Kendra's first appearance)

Forgiving someone who has hurt you deeply is the most difficult thing you can do—but it has to be done, before you trap yourself and others in a vicious cycle. (From the ghost story with James and Grace)

Your friends might inadvertently hurt you. They might even leave scars. But don't let your pain overcome your better judgment, or you could DIE HORRIBLY AND DOOM THE WORLD TO RULE BY THE UNDEAD. (From the episode where Cordelia wishes Buffy had never come to Sunnydale)

At least, that's the moral I drew from it. :P
