Mistform Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Here's a thread to squee about relationships in the Wax and Wayne books. I think Allik and Marasi would be super cute together. I was talking to my book levels of supporting this ship. 2
Samaldin he/him Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I´m not sure if i ship Allik and Marasi quite now, but i believe when he offered her his mask at the end it was something like a proposal and they are now engaged (at least from Alliks perspective). 1
Mistform Posted April 12, 2016 Author Posted April 12, 2016 That seemed more like a you saved my life honour/debt thing than a proposal. He didn't state any romantic intentions explicitly before, and he didn't ask her to come with them.
Samaldin he/him Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 If it was only something like that i don´t believe the other southeners would have been so shocked by it. I admit it doesn´t have to be a proposal (even though i still think so) but it must be something really special, maybe he invited her into his clan or something 1
mattig89ch he/him Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I was actually hoping Wayne grew up a bit, and started going after Marasi. But wayne ending up with Melaan, kinda makes sense. In a wayne sort of way. I can see Marasi and Alik ending up together. They spent enough time together, to get some feelings forming. But part of me hopes that Marasi finds someone, who doesn't wear a mask most of their life. 1
mattig89ch he/him Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 No, bow ties and fezzes are cool. Masks, outside very specific circumstances, are weird. At least i think so.
Melaan Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Hahha, MeLaan and Wayne were hilarious, but they're cute together. I was just glad that we got Wax and Steris. Trust Brandon Sanderson to solve a love triangle WITHOUT killing one of them off. I was like 'Thank you, thank you, thank you!' No lazy writing here!
Angsos Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I think the mask gift was a proposal and it doesn't matter that there was no overt love. Wax and Steris didn't love each other at first.
natc Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Well he does find her relatively cute for a maskless barbarian IIRC.
Eki Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I dunno, if it really was a proposal then surely he would realize Marasi wouldn't understand that? A very intimate gesture, sure, but probably not a proposal.

A very intimate gesture, sure, but probably not a proposal. I agree, intimate and emotional, as he has also taken his mask off in respect to his dead comrades, and when dealing with is fellow captive crew members. It seems to me that revealing one's face isn't as much forbidden as simply very reserved. It seems a great sign of trust and respect since revealing your face lets the outside world see what you are really feeling.
DreamEternal Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Masks, outside very specific circumstances, are weird. At least i think so. Those two things are not mutualy exclusive, you know?
AerionBFII he/him Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 She certainly doesn't waste anytime haha but no I'm glad she's found a possible somebody. Wax and Steris seemed to be doing well and she was just Third Wheelin' and refusing to quit.
Vissy Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 (edited) Lessie is "technically" dead? She's as dead as a... as a person can be! Like, I'm pretty sure she's officially, unofficially, straight, sideways, top-down, shake-it-every-which-way dead. Literally. Edited April 25, 2016 by Varangian
Landis963 he/him Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Lessie is "technically" dead? She's as dead as a... as a person can be! Like, I'm pretty sure she's officially, unofficially, straight, sideways, top-down, shake-it-every-which-way dead. Literally. Well, so is Kelsier. The difference being that Lessie is both dead and gone. 1
DeadFencer Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 No, Kelsier (secret history spoilers) isn't that dead. To be 100%, no coming back dead, you have to go to the spiritual realm. Kelsier didn't; he only went to the cognitive realm. Sazed implies Lessie went to the spiritual realm after her death.

Kelsier didn't; he only went to the cognitive realm. Sazed implies Lessie went to the spiritual realm after her death. Not the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm, best we can tell, is the timeless place where the Shard's powers live. The Shards have easy access to the spiritual realm. The true afterlife is called the Beyond, and the Shards don't know any more about it than we do. Lessie went Beyond. 1
