I finally go my first post put up in The Wasteland. As I have little experience in the field of Role Playing, commentary will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so I just want to make sure that these people are ok for the Dalles. They are Hamilton, Lafayette, John Laurens and Hercules Mulligan. They are all exactly as history views them and are anatomically the same as humans except they are actually autonomous Epic constructs with oil for blood.

Do they sing?

They're all rather prominent political and military figures from the era of American Colonialism. I'm American and only knew 2 off the top of my head.

Well, Colonial America. American Colonialism was when America started colonizing areas around the world; Colonial America was when America was still a collection of British colonies.

Yeah, sorry on my part about that. American history was never my strong suit.

1: What does WHOOC stand for?

2. God help us all, that TV show is the incarnation of all that is wrong with this world

1. What Happened Outside of Canon. It's a thread in this subforum where we put all of the AUs that could never happen (and some of which probably shouldn't).

2. Excellent.

I would definitely back that.

Welp, there it is. Enjoy the nightmare fuel.

How are we going to move forward with the Quicksilver situation? I assume he escapes, since Busdriver did and he seemed much less likely to than Quicksilver in my opinion, but how? How does this encounter change his group's position in The Dalles?

Random question before I decide whether to start a new WHOOC: Has anyone else here ever heard of Nanalan

Never heard of it.

Yay. ... To be honest, the switch from Spiritmaster to Corpsemaster threw me off for a moment and I wondered why Corpsemaker was on a truck with your guy. :P To be fair, Corpsemaster is probably a better fit anyway.

Well, the only reason busdriver got away was that everyone decided to deal with Quicksilver instead, so I wouldn't say his chances are that good.

Believe me. I didn't want another Deathwish/Deathgale thing going on, but sometimes I guess we just have to make these sorts of sacrifices for the sake of Epic name okay-ness. I just couldn't think of a better one.  :P

Alright. Reading back over the scene to see where we left off, it looks like Quicksilver drew his line in the sand and then we have a handful of posts about people flying off to fight him. Next comes the actual confrontation, if it's happening. It's possible that the best option for writing it would be from the viewpoint of a third person, since otherwise all of the dancing between perspectives might mess it up a bit. This is a cool moment. (Wait, is it just Edgerunner who's going there? *Double-checks thread* Nope. Looks like Deathwish is in there too. If we want Crush to get involved, Kobold can write that post now as well.)

Hey All!

So, good news, my trip to Oahu was fantastic, and I am back and ready to write again, AND my Dad's liver transplant was successful, so that's another monkey off my back.  I'll still be busy getting ready for work in June, and doing some stuff for my parents, but I am definitely feeling like I am in a better head space for writing.

Also, I did really well on my final paper, and will, in fact, be able to graduate, so thanks for giving me the time off I needed to deal with all that.

I skimmed the posts, and didn't see any red flags for Comatose.  I start wading through my PMs either later tonight, or tomorrow (I only got a few hours of sleep on the flight back because of crying babies, so I might not last long enough to get everything done).

Chasmfiend post up. A tiny bit from Kyordu's Perspective. Feedback will be loved.

Though not regarding his "Property Changing" power, or whatever it is, I thought I expressed some concern when you first introduced him in Corvallis about the level of distraction and disruption he could cause.   Corvallis has a decent population, but it's still Reckoners era, and Vanilla labour is kind of the key to utilizing Cornucopia's supply powers to their fullest extent, while also attracting useful epics to the city.  Chasmfiend's wanton killing of a bunch of Vanillas probably won't go over to well, and if he keeps it up, Rainmaker's going to be expelling him from the city or trying to kill him as soon as she finds out.  As is, he's already in trouble.

Another issue is with the Vanilla's response.  Corvallis is pretty organized, and while I haven't worked out specifics, the Vanillas course of action upon learning their master has died is not "pledge fealty to the first powerful epic you meet." it's, report to the government to be reassigned.

The basic problem I'm seeing is that Corvallis is a place of tight control and strict world order, and Chasmfiend seems set on disrupting that.  Others who have done that are Iconoclast (who is in hiding), Insight (also in hiding), Phoenix (killed and is now in hiding post resurrection), Converter (Killed and now resurrected outside the bubble), and Gunsmoke (trapped in air vortex above the city).  Since Chasmfiend is not in hiding, unless he starts being more discreet, he is going to be in trouble, and that sort of trouble isn't going to help get him integrated into the plot of the RP.  It's more likely to put him in a position where he doesn't have many options for story participation.

I guess it comes down to what you intend for the character.  If you want to have him act out, be put in his place by Rainmaker, and then behave, this will work (though the Vanillas' responses should still be changed), as long as that what you are expecting.  If you want a fight scene with Rainmaker and other Corvallis loyals, this is what you will get too, but once that is done your character won't have much left to do (if he survives).

If you want to integrate Chasmfiend into the RP, it might be good to dial back his recklessness a little bit.  He sought out Corvallis for protection, so he's obviously just as driven by fear as other epics, and yet we are not seeing this in his conduct.  If I was him, intent on throwing myself at Rainmaker's mercy in order to receive her protection, then I would be doing everything I could to follow the rules and get into Rainmaker's good graces.  I would not be wantonly causing more chaos in the middle of an obvious crisis.

Next steps: What is your plan for Chasmfiend?  We should probably plan out where this is going if things are going to continue to get out of hand.

Hope that helps!  I blame any shortness on my lack of sleep, so apologies if that cam across as rude.
