I saw a connection (Spoilers for Stormlight and Mistborn)

Recommended Posts

I seem to remember reading a WoB which stated that somewhere on Roshar there was a group of Kandra wandering around. Well I think I found a connection that should be considered when thinking about this...The Aimians. We know from Axies the Collector that Aimians are able to compose information onto their skin. (Like temporary tattoos!) We also have reference to Axies changing the functions of his internal organs. Aimian skin is also blue to the point that it's nearly transparent. This sounds very Kandra-like to me. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Has it been pointed out before?

As far as I know, there is no such WoB. We know there are kandra worldhoppers, but that's about it. To quote Bill Nye (who himself quotes someone else), "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence," - though a link to the WoB should suffice here.

What if the Aimians are half kandra?

I'm not sure if I believe this, but it would be cool.

Also, Aimians seem to be immortal unless killed

I don't think the timeline nor the general Aimian properties checks out.

Also, did you just make the claim that people die when they are killed?

Well, Scadrial humans were based off the Yolen humans.

One assumes Roshar ones were also either based off the Roshar ones or else descendants of people from Yolen (which does a lot to explain the Tranquiline Halls mythos)

What if the mistwraiths are also based off a Yolen race. Probably not dragons, because that's not what dragons look like, so maybe this third race the 'Shodel'. In which case, the Aimians could also be based off/are descendants of the Yolish Shodel.

I find it hard to believe that TLR would have knowledge of a race from Yolen. When Sazed became Harmony it didn't make him instantly Cosmere aware, and TLR only held the power for a short time.

It is interesting to think of where he had the idea to turn the Feruchemists into such odd creatures. We might already have info on this, or the mistwriathes might have a similar 'cousin' race on Scadrial that i haven't read about?.

Yes, but TLR didn't make humans or mistwraiths. The Shards did.

TLR turned the Terrispeople into mistwraiths while he held the fraction of Preservation's power at the Well. Preservation and Ruin didn't have anything to do with it.

edit: looking back at this post I should clarify that he only turned feruchemists into mistwraiths, not all terrispeople. Hurr durr. :)

Found something HERE.

If you don't care to click on it, it pretty much says, yes, there are kandra on Roshar but no, Axies is not one of them. In fact, Aimians are a different race entirely.

Thanks for this link. I remember reading it and getting excited that they were on Roshar. I guess my excitement overshadowed the rest of the comment. Consider me educated. XD
