Nashan’Elin he/him Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I've just read the prologue of White Sand. (I wasn't going to, but after I finished Aether, I really wanted to discuss it, and the only thread is Aether + Sand.) A little cliche, similar to a situation in Aether, actually, but interesting none-the-less. Where is this Aether + white sand thread?
Delightful Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Where is this Aether + white sand thread? It's a PM, since we're not supposed to talk about either on the forums.
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 It's a PM, since we're not supposed to talk about either on the forums. I just acquired and read both. Is there a way I can get in?
Orlion Blight he/him Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I just acquired and read both. Is there a way I can get in? If you have a first born son, you offer him up to the admins. If you don't, you're out of luck. Sorry.

Edgedancer he/him Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Aw, Braize I think alternatively sending one of the admins a pm asking about it should also help.
WayneSpren he/him Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 The Great Sasquatch Rebellion of 1892? Seriously, Rowling? In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you said they were just another name for yeti, and now they're distinct species that's also wildly out of character? Edit: And Thunderbirds are not "closely related to the Phoenix"! Edit edit: And allowing wizards to drink during the 1920s did not "make them conspicuous in a crowd of sober No-Majs"! Have you never heard of speakeasies? Al Capone? BOOTLEGGERS??? I came up with a magical explanation for their more violent and sinister moments. Can I PM it to you for opinions? Please, please PM this to me.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I just took Bruce to Petsmart to buy him more treats. While we were there, he met an older woman, and he got to be the first pug she saw IRL. She seemed to enjoy the encounter. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I just made half an effort to take a peek at Google+ Holy crap. It's...it's like Windows 8 barfed all over Facebook while Pinterest snuck in and stole any features I might actually want to use. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Confession that will surprise no one: I have never seen Ghostbusters. It's free on demand. I'm watching Ghostbusters. 3

This is a thing that you should definitely do. Right now. Why are you reading this? You're missing Bill Murray face time! Go watch it! 1

Kobold King he/him Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 It's on right now. Excellent. In other news, I put some thought into it and decided I'm supporting Fire Lord Ozai in the 2016 election. #FeelTheBurn 5

Oversleep Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I've hear that Yerba Mate is stronger than coffee, I've never tried it though. I also have never tried coffee to be honest I've disliked everything coffee flavored I've tried in my life, so I figure the coffee itself must be bad too. You see, I also dislike coffee. The proper term for what I'm doing with coffee is "using". I have no idea how people can drink coffee for pleasure. But sometimes you have to pull through a night... or two... three at best, three's the limit, after third hard night you die the moment you get back home and lie down to sleep. Then, after 16 hours or something about that you respawn. So what I'm looking for is not the taste, since it's bad anyway (but I dislike it less than I used to). Strength is important for me.

Decided to finally watch Avatar last Friday, and I am absolutely loving it. Why wasn't this in my childhood?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 How did I make it to adulthood without the supernaturally catchy Ghostbusters theme in my head?! 2
Orlion Blight he/him Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 How did I make it to adulthood without the supernaturally catchy Ghostbusters theme in my head?! Your parents really failed at their job 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Your parents really failed at their job You can say that again. I was barely even allowed to watch most Disney princess movies because of the magic, and some of them (Mulan, Pocahontas) were banned entirely. Heck, when we first started watching Once Upon a Time (I was 24) my dad complained at least once an episode that "There is a lot of magic in this show!" I am quite enjoying Ghostbusters, though.

I'm a bit iffy on that, but I like the plan to build a wall around the Fire Nation and make the Water Tribes pay for it. How did I make it to adulthood without the supernaturally catchy Ghostbusters theme in my head?! I don't even know. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 How did I make it to adulthood without the supernaturally catchy Ghostbusters theme in my head?! I...I don't know. You poor thing. Your parents really failed at their job Or there's this. You can say that again. I...what? They...banned Mulan and Pocahontas? Oh, my GOODNESS, we can't have our daughter watching Disney movies where the princess is something other than lily-white!

Oh, my GOODNESS, we can't have our daughter watching Disney movies where the princess is something other than lily-white! I wonder if it's on iTunes. They banned those two because of Mulan's ancestor worship and Pocahontas' pantheism…..which, come to think of it, actually makes their aversion to those movies much, much worse.

Because we can't have those pre-Christian cultures espousing anything other than WASP values. 1

You want to see a pretty good representation of their thoughts in that department? Feast your eyes. (No, they didn't write this review, but when they read it, they agreed with every word. Regardless of the fact they never even watched Brother Bear.)
