TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I know this was a few pages ago, I've been gone for waaay too long. My favorite songs from Hamilton are all of them, so I'll just include my favorite quotes. Can't forget this one: "I'm a general. WHEEE!" I wasn't able to reply to the gushing properly earlier, but I wouldn't be surprised if high school history teachers started having their students listen to the soundtrack for extra credit. I know I would. Maybe I'd have them do something else too, like compare and contrast it with a biography or something, but mostly I jus think everyone should listen to that soundtrack. Though if they listen to nothing else, I'd tell them to listen to "Yorktown." Great Noodly One, it's incredible. It strikes the perfect emotional chords, capturing the adrenaline of the battle and the courage of those who fought it, what they were fighting for, and the thrill of victory. Somehow, the fiddles give the song's modern hip-hop style a historical flair, taking it from excellent to perfection. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN OREGON! CALAMITY COMES FROM THE PORTAL THINGY FROM GRAVITY FALLS! (please tell me nobody has said that yet) I really, really want to see Bill meet Calamity now. Not for the devastation they'd cause, but because it would be disturbingly hilarious. 1
Delightful Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) So there's going around of a super polite and awesome Israeli police officer. Basically there are groups of activists who try get the police/soldiers angry so they can film angry reactions and then talk about how awful Israeli authorities are. But this guy Alon Tif handled it beautifully. If only all authority figures were so polite.... Edit: ok I'm noticing a possible trend. Whenever I post something about Israel it gets downvoted - after someone else has already upvoted, so it's not glaringly obvious. Sure it could totally be by accident, that happens, but I'm noticing it pretty consistently. If this is you: please stop being passive aggressive. It's super annoying and doesn't get anyone anywhere. If you have a problem, please speak up, that's far more effective than phantom downvotes. Thank you. Edit 2: so. I read the YouTube comments. This is my favourite: Lawful Good Israeli Paladin. Maxed out his Charisma attribute, with points spent in Leadership, Speechcraft, and Diplomacy. Edited May 3, 2016 by Delightful 8

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Has anyone seen all the spambots in General Brandon Discussion? Is anyone dealing with that? The mods usually get right on that as soon as they log on. Babaji likes to send his spambots to our forum while the mods are asleep, striking at us while we're defenseless before his onslaught of love magic.
Delightful Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I haven't actually seen Babaji around in ages, I was surprised to see them today.
Left he/him Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 It was almost nice in a way, makes the universe feel more constant somehow.
Delightful Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 It was almost nice in a way, makes the universe feel more constant somehow.Lol. If we have to resort to black love magic to make the universe feel constant, I think we're in a looooot of trouble. 3
Left he/him Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Lol. If we have to resort to black love magic to make the universe feel constant, I think we're in a looooot of trouble. True, true hahahaha. My exams are starting this week so my universe is a little crazy right now add in car and laundry troubles and yeah, it's CRAAZY I'm kind of liking it a little though.
Kaymyth she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Has anyone seen all the spambots in General Brandon Discussion? Is anyone dealing with that? Just issue a report on the poster(s) and NOT the individual posts. That points them in the right direction to just ban the spam account and clear the board of its threads.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 A WWII ration cookbook tells home cooks that "PIES ARE STILL POSSIBLE." I find this inspiring and oddly moving. 6

ThirdGen Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 A WWII ration cookbook tells home cooks that "PIES ARE STILL POSSIBLE." I find this inspiring and oddly moving. There was this whole '40s-'50s trend of cookbooks basically saying "Gelatin is for everything!"
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 There was this whole '40s-'50s trend of cookbooks basically saying "Gelatin is for everything!" That there was. http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/7-gross-foods-your-grandparents-ate-that-we-taste-tested/ *shudder* 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 For a moment I thought there was too much jello... then came the 'pineapple'. You can click away, but it'll still be in your nightmares.
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 There was this whole '40s-'50s trend of cookbooks basically saying "Gelatin is for everything!" What do mean there was? I cooked 4 things of Jello, cherry flavored, with ice cream and whipped cream for breakfast. However, this is the guy who has 30+ Snicker's wrappers in his closet.

Oversleep Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 FINE! I'LL LISTEN TO IT! ON THE WEEKEND!...I'm sorry. It's just the whole SoS / BoM situation again, when the whole Shard is talking about something and I don't know why.Eh, it's probably good, right? 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) My brother and I were texting about Harry Potter. I pointed out that Dumbeldore could've pressured the Ministry to retry Sirius (who he pointed out was imprisoned without a trial) but didn't. He hasn't responded. He doesn't like it when I insult canon Gryffindors. Edited May 3, 2016 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles 1
