I am lackadaisical.

I lack daisies.

Not one daisy do I possess.

Around me is a stunning absence of daisies.

There are no daisies on my person.

You will find no daisies here.

Behold, not one daisy was had this day.

I'm here to kick arse and pick daisies. And I'm all out of daisies.

I just watched the first 4 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist. I am loving it - I don't know how I didn't see this before, besides the fact I've been perpetually putting it off. But... some things in there are seriously disturbing.

I mean, there is something seriously wrong with merging your daughter and her dog into a single creature (and being unable to change them back again) for the sake of passing an exam. Or to have a man who brutally murders people and then prays for their soul.

On the other hand, weird stuff aside, I'm really curious about the world. There's a hint of bigger things to come, with Gluttony and the mysterious lady, and I find the laws of alchemy to be fascinating.

Also, doesn't anyone else think that calling the leader of the country Furher has unfortunate implications?

Watched Brother Bear to see if it's just as good the second time around.

It is. ^_^

Just don't watch the sequel.

The sequel is so bad, I saw the whole plot just from the cover.

And I was right.

Unless a sequel is

  • to a superhero movie or
  • based on a book that is also a sequel or
  • to a Pixar movie or
  • a near-immediate follow-up to a Disney movie and
  • has at least a 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes

then I don't bother. At all. Ever.

I don't remember Brother Bear 2, but I still like Lion King 2, even though it never got good ratings.

I remember liking it when I saw it, but I don't know if that would change if I saw it now. I do have a soft spot for 1 1/2, even though that one is basically one long fart joke.

If you're out of daises then isn't that all the more incentive to pick them? I mean if you have daises then you don't need to pick more daises.

DON'T OVER-ANALYZE MY STUNNING LACK OF DAISIES.

Aaahhhhhh!!! Yes!

Don't worry, you've seen the most disturbing things already, nothing else is as disturbing in the rest of the show. (In general, some people with specific phobias and fears will be very diaturbed by some things)

The worldbuilding in the show is spectacular, especially after episode 16 (I think it's 16).

And all the implications made by calling the leader of the country Fuher are intentional.

Yeah, 1 1/2 is...weird. :P Though it does have a good rating. I haven't seen 2 in a while either, I guess, but I still like the music at least.

Does it?

*checks Tomatometer*

Huh. 76 percent. I was not expecting that. :P But yeah, I tend to avoid direct-to-video sequels on principle.

And I still really want to see Zootopia.

I prefer bad movies that know they're bad and don't care. Like Hotel Transylvania.

I never saw Eragon, but I still know about the "I suffer without my stone! Do not prolong my suffering!" line.

*Rolls around in agony, clutching head*

The worst adaption of a series I've ever seen. And I don't even like the series, I did when it started but that ending was just...

*shudders*

Speaking of bad movies... Eragon.

Speaking of other bad movies...Percy Jackson.

Not really eragon spoilers, but replying to eragon spoilers.

the ending of the movie, or the ending of the books? Because I actually liked the ending of the books. There was quite a bit of nice foreshadowing.

I liked the ending of the books too. (Although Chris Paolini has now announced that he intends to write another Inheritance book, so I suppose it's not really the end anymore...) As for the movie, the writers/director/producer/whoever took "creative license" waaaay too far. I enjoyed the Eragon movie just as something to watch and be entertained by, but as an adaptation of the book it was awful.

Well, he announced that he intends to return to the world of Alagaesia, but I think he intends for it to be a new cast, new everything. Whether it's a prequel or sequel is yet to be seen.

Both, but specifically the books. He had someone ride a boat for 200 meters just to fulfill an earlier prophecy and no other reason.

I gave you a whole field of daisies!  What more do you want, man?

Or Sharknado.

(The first time I watched it, James had the codec messed up and there was no sound.  We watched the entire movie the first time with no dialogue.  It didn't matter.)
