Aslydin- the mysterious worldhopping Terriswoman?

So I don't know if this has already been covered, but this is something I just realized.

At the end of HoA Demoux is shown to have a love interest, a Terriswoman named Aslydin. Now, as we know, Demoux is a worldhopper and a member of the Seventeenth Shard.

I just saw an AMA where someone asked Brandon what happened to her and he said that she was also working in the Seventeenth Shard and that "the ethnicity of the name should strike you."

Could Aslydin be the Terriswoman worldhopper from Warbreaker that Brandon mentioned a while back?

Again, sorry if this has already been brought up/resolved.

If not, please discuss!

She questions Wax on some Crashing things in BoM, at the party.

That was Khriss, not Aslydin.

We don't know she was following Hoid, the two could have entirely unrelated interests in Wax. Khriss is a scholar interested in the mechanics of the Metallic Arts (and was obviously happy to have a chance to interview one of only three Crashers who have ever existed to get more information) while Hoid is aware of Wax's importance to events currently on Scadrial and apparently wanted to both guide him to the solution to his current problem and ensure that someone got access to that Coppermind memory for... some reason.

INTERVIEW: Nov 22nd, 2016

BYU Bookstore (Paraphrased)

QUESTION

I asked why Hoid gave the memory coin to Wax, what his motivation was (since it seemed to cast a more positive light on someone Hoid does not like), and

BRANDON SANDERSON

Brandon said he did it to correct a lie that was being perpetuated.

QUESTION

I said that I was still suspicious of Hoid,

BRANDON SANDERSON

to which he said I should be, as those two (Hoid and Kelsier) do not get along. He said that the memory uncovered a truth that Kelsier did not want to be known.

Lets set something straight: As far as I can tell, there is nothing from Brandon saying that Aslydin is the Worldhopper Terriswoman in Warbreaker.

Here is what we know:
1) Aslydin is introduced to us in Mistborn as the daughter of a Terris elder, thus a Terriswoman.
2) Aslydin is a confirmed 17th Shard member and Worldhopper.
3) The ethnicity of Aslydin's name is a confirmed hint to her being a 17th Shard member.
4) There is a Terriswoman Worldhopper who was confirmed to be somewhere in Warbreaker.
5) The Nurse in Warbreaker is pretty much confirmed to have been this Terriswoman Worldhopper. Brandon's reactions to questions the subject involve a lot of surprise, though I'm not sure he has ever said it right out.
6) Demoux is a confirmed 17th Shard member and a Worldhopper.
7) Asyldin is Demoux's love interest.
8) Asyldin is seen getting bandages in on of the Mistborn books, implying that she might have knowledge as a nurse.

It has also been theorized that Aslydin was the person who brought Demoux into the 17th shard.

Now, a lot of this seems to point at Aslydin being the aforementioned Terriswoman, but if you look at it, it has never been confirmed. (Of course, if you have some other WoBs that add other information, I'd be delighted to know). My guess? She isn't Terris at all. She was 17th shard, disguised herself as Terris to get closer to events (which we know Worldhoppers can do since Hoid does it too), then fell in love with Demoux and dragged him into the 17th shard. The Terriswoman in Warbreaker is a completely different Worldhopper, who isn't even confirmed to be in the 17th shard.

Of course, I haven't been able to analyse name-types to find out what culture Aslydin's name is most likely to come from, so it might well be Terris, but I think that it is more likely to be from a different planet. (Don't ask me which one). Especially if Sanderson is being devious in trying to make it look like the Terriswoman Worldhopper is Aslydin, so that those of us who do all of this theorizing are shoked when we find out that they are different, and possibly enemies. Could you picture that? We keep seeing them both do stuff, always assuming that they are one in the same, and then BAM, they meet, fight and stuff, and you realize that half of what you thought was true is a lie. Sorry, it just seems like Aslydin is too obvious to be the Terriswoman, and Brandon doesn't seem to think he has given us enough about the Terriswoman to know who she is yet.

@Lord Maelstrom I like your thinking and I agree that there's no confirmation the worldhopping terriswoman is Aslydin, there could be more than one. But your question about whether she's even originally terris intrigued me. Luckily I found confirmation she is, in the annotations

If you've been keeping track, this Terriswoman is, indeed, the romantic interest I promised Micah DeMoux by the end of the book. He said he didn't care if he ended up with an important character—that didn't matter to him. He just wanted Captain Demoux to find romance. It took some working, but I managed to work it in. The story behind this is, of course, Captain Demoux and his troops showing up to lend organization and authority to the Terris people, who had been flooded with refugees.

Demoux and his men created law and order, stopping the petty theft and the like that had been a problem with the refugee bands. He essentially took command of the entire place, though he was very respectful to the Terris leaders. This woman, daughter of one of the Terris elders, fell in love with Demoux for his honor and his respectability, and he began to reciprocate.

Even as the world neared its end, she and Demoux were able to find love.

@Extesian, Aww...... That's too bad. I'm surprised that in all the questions that people have been asking Brandon about Aslydin being the Nurse, they have all be referring to her as the "Terriswoman worldhopper" never by her actual name. I assumed that meant it hadn't been confirmed. Well, another classic example of 17th shard over-complications don't you think?

Though it does connect how Aslydin was doing medical work in HoA and was a nurse in Warbreaker, which is awesome.

Only General Demoux, who had managed to crawl back to the cavern after his atium ran out, remained, just a few steps into the tunnel. The man was bloody, his arm ending in a tourniquet, his leg crushed. He coughed quietly, waiting for Aslydin to return with more bandages.

He has. Bottom of post, after the audio files

He said that someone in Poland had figured it out who the Terriswoman in Warbreaker was and I asked him if it was Lemex' nurse, and he nodded and smiled. He said he had no idea how anyone figured it out, which is interesting.

Is it possibly that Iyatil (WoR, whose name sounds faintly Terris to me) is a child of Demoux and Aslydin?

She's southern Scadrian culturally, so I think that rules them out.

Just to clarify @Calderis point, her heritage is Southern Scadrial (just coz culture can be appropriated), and she was born in Silverlight. So no dice unfortunately.

QUESTION

In Words of Radiance, there is a character named Iyatil... Is she a member of the race that we see in Bands of Mourning in the--

BRANDON SANDERSON

She is related to them in the same way that I am Danish.

QUESTION

Okay, so not.

BRANDON SANDERSON

Well, I am, my heritage is Danish.

I'm going back for a reread on SoS and BoM this week. I don't remember the history of the people in BoM that question was referring to...so I'm useless to speculate on if they could possibly have any relation to Demoux...but I can't quite give up on the theory until I've reread them :P  Perhaps she a super-grandchild of some sort. I knew she was born on Silverlight, but it makes sense Demoux and Aslydin would move there at some point.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that one before. I wonder how culturally segregated Silverlight is, because Iyatil takes that mask pretty seriously.

More seriously than Alik (sp?) seems to

@Stormlightning they're from the southern Scadrian continent and wear masks continually, though not as much as Iyatil as theirs have not grown in to the skin.

And we know Khriss is based out of Silverlight, but Demoux and Aslydin are Seventeenth Shard. Do we have confirmation of a connection between the Seventeenth Shard and Silverlight?
