Zathoth
Pet peeve: People who take the Myers-Briggs test as gospel when there is actually no scientific basis for it. Seriously, it is no more true than "What color is your aura" or "What character in Harry Potter are you?" it is just a lot fancier. That wasnt an attack on you or anything Maxal you just made me remember it.

I have a certain qualm at seeing random people call me "stupid", "dumb", "incapable of higher studies" and "likely to never contribute positively to society" simply because my behavioral pattern falls within the dreaded ESFJ category. As if being blunt, honest, direct and having an emotional response to unexpected events had any correlation with intelligence So yeah, I'd say it also is a pet-peeve of mine: to think some types are better or smarter than others. As far as I am concerned, dumb and smart come in all kind of format.

Hey, when Im faced with emotions I cant handle I break down, not shutting out your emotions most of the time is very useful like that, something that I, the mighty INTP cant handle. I like how I would consider myself blunt and honest as well, but according to Myers-Briggs we should be exact opposites... I agree, that was my point with the first line, cold and logical does not always equate to smart.
Delightful
I can't speak for relation to intelligence levels, but I know a couple people pretty obsessed with Meyer-Briggs, personality wise I think it does seem to have a fair amount of accuracy.
Orlion Blight
To me, the Myers-Brigg test is kinda like astrology: things are general enough that you will see yourself in it, but it really does not say anything you could not have found out otherwise. I'm also of the opinion that if you can describe yourself with four letters, you might be a tad-bit boring

I see MBTI and other personality tests as a good starting point to learn more about myself, not the end-all, be-all. MBTI described me pretty well, but not perfectly, and the same goes for any other personality test out there. They provide a good framework, but take their results with a grain of salt.

If you are Luna Lovegood it explains why you are awesome and now when you are Luna Lovegood you cant be not awesome. Check mate Brain Weasels! I think they can be fun, personality tests can be a useful thing when you start creating characters, but I dont put too much weight in them.
Ookla the Absent
As I was saying earlier, -People who take up whole pages agreeing with other peoples peeves. That being said, people use Meyers-Briggs as an inteligance thing? It was never meant to be that way... that's just wrong. I think it works fairly well, but in the basic 4 letter simplification you get less variation than if you see the number scale attatched. Some people aren't strong one way or the other with one or more of the letters (myself included) so it doesn't make as much sense to them.

But Luna is awesome... I wish I had been more like Luna growing up. Do you have the link for the Harry Potter test? I wonder who I would be... I'm afraid it's going to say Malfoy Agree MBTI is great to get to understand yourself better, it is not so great when people start to claim so types are "superior" and others are just "plain dumb". As I was saying earlier, That being said, people use Meyers-Briggs as an inteligance thing? It was never meant to be that way... that's just wrong. Some people aren't strong one way or the other with one or more of the letters (myself included) so it doesn't make as much sense to them. It isn't meant to be read this way, but there are people who do interpret it this way. If you Google it on the Internet, you rapidly find plenty of individuals who claim the NT types are superior to the SF types due to them being able to better utilize their environment. They are also, supposedly, more prone to become "specialists and masters of their fields" while dumb SF types would just content themselves with a low entry work. I have met some people who contempt for other individuals choices were so harsh I was left dumbfounded... I strongly believe anyone is able to achieve greatness in their own life and the reasons we end up making the choices we make aren't all linked to ambition... Other things come into the mix as we age, superficial and useless stuff such as children will often make you reflect on your choices. There are a lot of disadvantages to being an N-type just as there are a lot of advantages to being a S-type: they are different and different does not mean one if better. However, on the Internet under-represented types such as ESFJ, ESFP or ISFP get very bad press and it unnerves me to no end.

RippleGylf
People who don't give reading a chance. I mean, this conversation shouldn't happen: Other person: So, what do you like to do? Me: Oh, I read books. Other person: That's boring. What else do you do? Just because you don't appreciate books doesn't mean you have to belittle my pastime.

Kipper
You haven't even seen Jared Leto's Joker...why are you deciding that he's bad already?! About personality types, I'd agree with Gargoyle and say that they aren't as much useful without numbers attached. And also, maxal, I feel you about being underrepresented on the Internet, as an ENTJ. I'm above 80% in all my categories, and honestly, the profile fits me almost perfectly. Reading it was very helpful to confront things I didn't want to admit about myself. And the test certainly does have scientific basis.

Sure we have, there's been pictures and trailers that are suppose to get us excited for the film, and have instead turned him into a pet peeve of ours.So blame marketing
TwiLyghtSansSparkles
You haven't even seen Jared Leto's Joker...why are you deciding that he's bad already? For me, it's the tattoos. I'm not the sort of person to disparage tattoos. I don't have any, nor do I plan on getting any, but I fully support anyone who chooses to get them. Done right, tattoos are art, and I will defend the tattooed against anyone who perpetuates negative stereotypes against them. But Leto!Joker's tattoos are stupid. The Joker is an unstable psychopath who thinks murder and torture are funny. He will gladly murder the man who just sold him a watch for any reason or no reason at all. In Alfred's words, he's a man who just wants to watch the world burn. If he's unstable enough to set up sadiistic death traps for the fun of it, why on earth would be sit still long enough for a tattoo artist to stab him repeatedly with a sharp needle? The Joker I know would've killed the artist a quarter of the way in and run off with unfinished tattoos. The look he has makes no logical sense for the character.
