My sister has a habit of sending me links on FB and trying to drag me into conversation... Without realizing that I may be doing something else at the moment. It's equivalent to shoving somebody's face into a newspaper and forcing that somebody to talk about it - who cares said person is reading, listening to music or even staring into a wall.

My friends I could reply that I don't feel like reading that; but family will just call me rude and get offended

I have a friend that does something similar. But they are gifs and pictures of things that would traumatise a young child

My recent pet peeve: the cord on my headphones. It's SIX FEET LONG, which is waaaaay longer than I need, so I've been trying to keep most of its length coiled up so I don't accidentally sit or step on it. I bind the coils together with a plastic twist tie, but the coils keep slipping out and dangling almost down to the ground, getting caught on stuff. :/

Maybe try a very tight zip tie? Those things can keep a lot of things together

Zip ties, are the best thing, ever.  Besides Duck Tape.  They can do anything.  I know a guy who uses them to hold his car axle together.

It's actually "duct" tape, as in it's used for air ducts. Duck Tape is just a brand that sells duct tape.

Look up coiling. (or coil knot?). Alternatively you could use a cascade slip knot (but in my opinion it could be damaging to the cord if done too tight).

Back in my day, we had the internet, but if you accidentally pressed the internet button on your phone, you'd have a momentary panic attack while frantically hitting END 50 times so your parents wouldn't have to pay for such a luxury.

Heh. Oh, the generation gap; cell phones became a thing when I was in college. My first mobile was this crazy blocky thing that you could've used to bludgeon a zombie. Internet wasn't even within its capability.

I'd recommend just investing in a cord wrapping loop, or using three or more zip ties/velcro straps. I use four velcro straps to loop each of my guitar cables, and I was able to  tie a 12' cable up fairly well. You have to somewhat weave the strap in order to not have it move as much, but with four, it's pretty much nonexistant.

Heh. Or just so you wouldn't have to pay the absurd cost less than a kilobyte of data was when you didn't have a data plan....good times, good times.

I got my first phone when I was 19, inherited from my brother who was getting married. Since he was on a plan with my other two brothers, there was never any chance of my parents covering the cost.

Hahaha yup. My second phone had this "internet", the only page it ever showed was ads that looked like you were supposed to tap them but the phone wasn't touchscreen......

On the other hand it is also very possible that the young ones of the future will laugh at you for not having to deal with zombies and scavenging for food.

SpongeBob!Coworker's humming. 

When he isn't talking, he'll hum. Not much of a tune, no song, he just hums to fill the silence. It was almost endearing the first eight times he did it.
