I'd like to paraphrase the best wizard named Harry on this

"All politicians seem to exist on a spectrum between crook and moron."

Oh my god. According to the opinion of the world, Clinton and Trump are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Also, I'm no Potter fan, but I've seen pics of Clinton as Dolores Umbridge and Trump as Voldemort.

Can we just not elect anyone and promise to be cool for four years? Please?

Democracy isn't simply a thing for fair times and bright days...What is democracy - if you don't continue in it after failure?...Anyone can support someone, or something that always succeeds...But failure...ah, now, that is hard to live through, certainly and truly. Difficult enough to have value. Sometimes we just have to wait long enough...then we find out why exactly it was that we kept voting...There's always another candidate.

Barring the very real possibility that the present election drives the candidates who would remind us all why we keep voting away from their profession in disgust before we ever have the chance to vote for them.

Why is it that everywhere I go, public bathrooms are stifling hot? Is there some law against running air conditioning in bathrooms? I can seriously spend 5 minutes in there doing nothing strenuous and be sweating when I come out. It makes using the toilet at Comic Con completely miserable because I'm already hot from wearing my cosplay, and although it's not quite as unpleasant at my job in the library, it's still obnoxious.

It seems every bathroom is either stifling or freezing. I think it's intentional--they're trying to make the bathrooms uncomfortable so people spend less time in there.

Hm... Year 2116, you have to watch out for traps?

Adult coloring books.

More specifically, adult coloring books that cost $20 more than regular coloring books.

Don't get me wrong, I love coloring, and I'm all for stress relief, but that's money that I am not spending on coloring.

The sound Skype makes when you get a notification. Makes me want to punch through my work laptop every time.

Also, BuzzFeed and Upworthy.

They are both....

  • given to rumors
  • inclined to side with or against a source prematurely
  • focused on the trivial at the expense of, you know, actual news
  • Inexplicably obsessed with cute and funny things

Conclusion: BuzzFeed and Upworthy are the Rita Skeeters of Muggle journalism.

Serious question, do you think Rita Skeeter wouldn'twork for muggles directly?

Because I can totally see it happening. Her animagus trick was so good it lasted years in the wizarding world. Imagine how lobg she would get away with it in the muggle press.

Frankly, I'd almost be more surprised if she didn't have a sidejob doibg muggle tabloids.

Oh, I'm sure she would, and she probably did especially after the series concluded. She struck me as more of the chaotic evil type—she'd turn her sleazy brand of reporting (I will not dignify it by calling it "journalism") toward whoever would pay her, Muggle, wizard, or otherwise.

Of course, she'd have to be especially careful around Muggles. Many are less, shall we say, tolerant of beetles hanging out around the water cooler.

Now there are a lot of things wrong with skype, but you can turn off all the notification sounds.

Non-youtube players. ARGH THEY ARE SO BAD! It's like my internet suddenly becomes ten times slower when it comes to bufferring those things and even worse some sites use only them.

I'm wondering if it's cheaper to spend the ink printing those pages yourself.

Probably, even though the books you buy are nicer

(nice Iron Heart profile pic, by the way!)

So that's a female version of Iron Man or something? (I don't know much about comics) How does she wear a helmet with so much hair? Or maybe she doesn't?
