50Metals he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) I came up with theories for Lerasium alloys years ago, and everyone laughed at me. (They are not laughing now that I stole their abilities with Hemalurgy).Anyway, from that old theory, here are three pairs that fit your criteria:Iron+Lerasium: Pulls metals towards each other.Steel+Lerasium: Pushes metals away from each other.Brass+Lerasium: pushes heat away from the allomancer. (May need to grant some immunity to cold as well, if it effects one's own body heat. Or perhaps that is the danger of using the metal. PS: Perhaps a firesoul/soother twinborn could become a living flamethower using this metal. Or maybe that is just my love of comic books corrupting my theories)Zinc+Lerasium: pulls heat towards the allomancer. (Perhaps this grants immunity to heat while it is being burned, as I imagine the allomancer would overheat quickly. PS: this might be a quick way for a Firesoul/Rioter twinborn to fill his brassminds.)Gold+L: Pulls on light. (i.e. increases shadows around the allomancer.)Electrum+L: Pushes on light (i.e. makes the allomancer appear reflective. rather useless) Edited November 22, 2015 by 50Metals 1
50Metals he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Sir Traconis, I really like your temperature based ones better.
Stormgate he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Perhaps atium-bendalloy could let you travel into the past, while atium-cadmium would send you to the future. This could make a sci-fi novel out of Mistborn, but I like the concept. 1

Electrum+L: Pushes on light (i.e. makes the allomancer appear reflective. rather useless) From memory Lerasium alloys give various spiritual and physical effects while Atium alloys tend to be temporal or cognitive in focus. There's an old WoB on it somewhere though I don't remember where. So I like these ones as examples of physical effects, especially pulling metals towards each other.
skaa he/him Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 From memory Lerasium alloys give various spiritual and physical effects while Atium alloys tend to be temporal or cognitive in focus. There's an old WoB on it somewhere though I don't remember where. It's from the Table of Allomantic Metals. Perhaps atium-bendalloy could let you travel into the past, while atium-cadmium would send you to the future. This could make a sci-fi novel out of Mistborn, but I like the concept. It would definitely be awesome if traveling to the past was allowed in the Cosmere. Given the catastrophes that happened in various Shardworlds (particularly Yolen), there's plenty of motivation to want to change the past. I don't think it's likely, but who knows? Cadmium already sends people to the future, but I guess you're thinking of the power to disappear from the present and reappear in the future, right? Will your time traveling power also involve time bubbles (i.e. transfer multiple things at the same time)?
Thermophile he/him Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Perhaps metals that interact with the strong force? The pulling metal would strenghten the strong force, preventing atoms from breaking down, or even influencing fusion. The pushing metal would weaken the strong force, causing fission to be easier and more likely. This may also be able to influence fusion. 1

I have not given it a lot of thought, but I personally like the idea of the time travel being internal. Aiming for a time period would be sketchy no matter how you did it, though.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) How about atium-bendalloy giving everything in the bubble including you atium shadows that only you can see. However the bubble doesn't accelerate anyone inside of it. While the bubble is active the speed of the shadows is changable depending on how fast you burn allowing you to see what happens during an hour in one minute. Only the objects that are already in the bubble get shadows and the shadows dissapear if they leave the bubble. Master Observers can manipulate their shadow (allowing it to interact with the other shadows) by choosing what they will do beforehand Uses: Seeing the guard patrols of a bank/manor in a second. Listening to a conversation (by watching lip movements) 5 hours before it happens. Trying out fights in your mind to see what works. I know that Voidus already made an effect for atium-bendalloy so maybe this should be some new metal instead. Pulling effect: Instead of seeing future shadows you see what the objects in the bubble did previously. The shadows can also move forward in time but not past the time the bubble was put up. MistLord he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) I don't really have anything to add myself, but I came across this very strange wiki page that seemed to describe Allomancy and Feruchemy, except with four extra metals, with corresponding metal symbols http://bladesandbeasts.wikia.com/wiki/Metallurgy (I hope it allows you to post URLs here haha) EDIT: Oh, it even seems like they've added even more metals since last I checked Edited December 29, 2015 by MistLord 1
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Ok got another 2 Baridum(pulling) Allows you to pull on nearby metal sources to use them for allomancy. While burning all metal sources within 5m of yourself are conected to you by green lines. You can pull on these metals to use them for Allomancy. The metal consumption is 16 times faster than normal and any metal you consume turns into a weak, gray and un-allomantic metal that quickly flakes and is reduced to dust. Misting are called Baridum Gnats Goridem(pushing) Allows you to push nearby metals increasing their allomantic charge. While burning this metal green lines connect you to any metals within 5m. You can push the charge of any other metals you are burning into the same metal. This negates the effect of the metal, but increases the allomantic charge of the metal you're pushing. This metal also becomes harder to break. While burning a pushed metal you get increased charge. Mistings are called Goridem Gnats. 2

He even invented his own symbols. Pretty cool. Thanks, MistLord! @ChickenPlague: Goridem looks like an Allomantic hack to mimic Nicrosil Feruchemy, which is interesting. Also, what inspired your idea to make Baridum turn metals to dust instead of burning them away like regular Allomancy?
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Baridum turns it to dust because the opposite Goridem hardens it.
DreamEternal Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Why are they called gnats? Destroying and strenghtening metals seems useful enough on its own.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Why are they called gnats? Destroying and strenghtening metals seems useful enough on its own. Because you need to burn whatever metal you're pushing or pulling.
MistLord he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Ok got another 2 Baridum(pulling) ... Mistings are called Goridem Gnats. ... I am really impressed by this one 1
