a bit of a subject change, but does anyone think it would be a good idea to have a topic summarizing what happened in each RP? I would think that it would make it easier for people to join.

although nothing beats reading the funtimes.

OOH! OOH! Funtimes should make her own magazine! that might open up a whole list of fun times.

wait a second...

You know, that's not a bad idea. They'd have to be updated fairly regularly, or else be a very basic summary.

Though, in fairness, summarizing Portland is a lot like this:

So, I thought of arguably the most powerful minor Epic ever. He has one power: the ability to make anyone need to go to the bathroom. He can choose between number one and number two. He looks at them, and suddenly, they need to go. I need a name for him, though.

I will be immensely disappointed in the universe if he is not named Tinkle Time.

Tinkle Time it is! I have no idea what he's going to do, but warriormark says he's evil.

Read any part of Portland where Nighthound does really anything, then come back and say Tinkle Time is evil.

I have Platoon's limit at 20 copies of himself, identical to him but lacking abilities of any kind.

Enjoyed that Arsenal post Kobold. It felt like he was saying, "I'd rather blow up the video feeds than share! Nya-nya!"

Just put up Lightwood's first post in Astoria. :)

Yay! And yay for tropics right in the city.

One day, I was Sharding on my phone, as I often do. I don't remember what I was trying to say, and I don't think it's important, now. What matters is that I typed a perfectly valid word, and my phone autocorrected it to "Murderlina."

And that was when I learned of her.

She lurks in my phone, and haunts the forum. Waiting. For what, I do not know. What I do know is that with a name like Murderlina, her purposes are nothing but fell.

She lurks among us….watching.

Murderlina also has shown a certain favoritism for Nighthound, so that doesn't bode well either.

The Dalles should have a mandatory how to fight Deathwish and not get hurt course for all female citizens. Make it optional and paid for male citizens. Vondra can raise funds, and the citizens will be trained to injure Deathwish. Perfect.

Are you still taking notes, Kobold?

That was supposed to be Vondra, not condors, though I guess we can train them to fight Deathwish too.

Well, a blood choke causes unconsiousness in about ten seconds and bypasses Deathwish's PI, so that seems like a good start.

Not sure how regulary actually. Speed hasn't been that high lately.

Previously on The Dalles: Part One:

Late November, two years ago

Koschei the Deathless marched into the farmhouse, pistol in hand, purple cloak billowing behind him. Snowflakes fell, catching on his cloak and sticking in his hair, and he irritably pulled up the hood.

Barrett Springfield had betrayed him.

Just then, through the door, in came several guards, all with guns trained on the three Epics seated across from Reader--and they looked ready to kill. Reader held up his hand, stopping the guards. "Hold on a minute." He looked at the twins. "It's a shame, that was a nice goblet. Expensive, too. It would be...unfortunate if I had to have all these nice soldiers take you in. We wouldn't want them digging into your personal record, now would we? How many alcoholic drinks have you stolen, again?"

Of course Event Horizon can just throw up a black hole and swallow the sparking back door BusDriver thought as he exited the back of the bus. Calamity gives everyone else these sparking awesome powers and I'm left turning things into Calamity-cursed buses.

She laughed out loud at that, and then ran away, yelling "Look at me, mister!'" She skipped ahead happily to go and pick a dandelion puffball, and strangely, Arvin felt his heart lighten in a way that it hadn't for more years than he'd like to remember. He had a purpose again.

A panda stepped out of the Shadow Pandas. In gruff and low voice, the panda growled "You know why we are here, Reader. Our Informant has told us about you. I a Captain Alexpanda. You are either coming with us willingly, or in a sack".

As Edgerunner landed next to Lucy, in the small pork-free area, she began breathing deeply and counted to five. She found that it helped quell the anger that arose in her chest when she used her powers. Lucy nodded towards her and greeted her simply.

"I'm just glad it worked," said Planeshift.  "Next stop... well actually I still don't remember where our next stop is. But that's ok.  At this moment, all I want is to get out of this ridiculous city."

Then all hell broke loose.

I'm waking up--

I FEEL IT IN MY BONES

ENOUGH TO MAKE MY SYSTEMS BLOW

Welcome to the new age, to the new age

Welcome to the new age...

One particularly brave – or stupid – panda charged at him, leveling a wooden spear. Frostfire looked on in contempt as the spear struck, and shattered against his skin. He lashed out with one hand, lightly tapping the panda’s head. It keeled over backwards, fur crackling with ice.

Elsa stepped forward on the ice cloud.

"I'll help too. In fact, I'll do whatever it takes to win."

The cat mrowed for more attention, which Backtrack obliged with one hand while wondering whether "kitty" was a word that cool Epics used.

I have Platoon's limit at 20 copies of himself, identical to him but lacking abilities of any kind.

Pretty much, yeah. :P It's not a bad strategic move, given Arsenal can rebug the city with much more ease than Quicksilver could, but it's a very Arsenal-like move to make.

What happens if a person without left arm cuts Deathwish in his left arm?

Like Chicken said. The wound heals and the other person feels phantom pain.

Yeah I'm pretty opposed to having another cloning Epic, there's already one in the Australia RP who can clone other people, plus the other new one who just appeared, having yet another one would be pretty strongly defiant of canon. We can get away with a bit since there's bound to be some lost information once Oregon is destroyed but having a bunch of cloning Epics just doesn't seem possible.

Actually, how crucial are the actuall powers to the characte'rs role?

Oh, I am keeping him. Warriormark refuses to acknowledge Tinkle Time's existence, which may prove problematic.

To be fair I had Platoon set as a character before the Australia RP was even an idea. I made him a bio in the Epics of Oregon page and everything, I just hadn't used him (I had his name as Cannon Fodder, but changed it because Platoon was less of a mouthfull).

And he is kinda important to the Slivers as they currently are. In order to maintain a low profile they've kept their team relatively small. Platoon is able to provide the expendable manpower/bodies necessary for certain operations.

Eh, I was only talking about the Renegade guy anyway.

Doesn't solve the problems it would cause though, Epics in the EoO page aren't necessarily going to be accepted as cannon.

There's a few ways around that still, mind control, summoning non-humans to fulfil the same role, sentient elemental beings and such.

Or you could just change the power so it still does basically the same thing but isn't so similar to mitosis (Which from what we know of Epics is what should happen even if it were the same power, it would express slightly differently) for instance I have a reincarnation Epic profile who when they died came resurrected twice in separate bodies. Repeat that enough and you still have a clone army, just without strictly cloning.

Alright, I get it. As the saying goes, "Too many clones spoils the soup." ;)

Lets come up with an alternative then. I need an Epic who can produce at least 20 humans outta nowhere, or a decent substitute. Here are some ideas:

(I'm sure most of these are already suggested or used by someone, so let me know if that's the case)

Warlord: Can create people by cutting himself. When the minion dies, the cut heals itself. The larger the cut, the more powerful the individual he creates. Small cuts create regular people, large gashes create enhanced individuals who are stronger and faster. Can also create an Avatar, a super enhanced individual that could almost be an Epic, but requires a huge wound

Limited to 50 regular people, 20 enhanced, and 1 Avatar

Man in the Mirror: can change his physical appearance to perfectly match anyone he sees. He can then continue to operate as that person, or turn it into a clone of that person. Clones have no abilities. Limit of 50.

More to come...

I like both but particularly the first since I'm fond of Epic powers that come at a cost.

I was hoping you'd like that one, I thought the concept was interesting.

Are we cool with changing it to the blood clone dude?
