Well, I think the other ones (sort of?) make sense.

Like, with a hug, it men's you like that person and so you want to be as close to them as you can, and with a getting dirt in your eye, your eyes produce extra lubricants, in order to get that dirt out.

Though I still don't understand why eyes produce extra lubricants during times of emotional distress.

visual cue for other people that you need help/that something is wrong, being left over from evolution?

Has anyone ever considered how strange kissing is?

I mean a human puts their mouth on another human's mouth, and it's considered to be affectionate. Why?

It is really weird. Brushing teeth is as well. Putting a strange white substance in your mouth, who does that?

Me.

I don't even know . . .

I think hedgehogs do count as exotic pets, so you'd probably have to get some kind of liscence from the authorities.

I love when pets do that. I once had a rabbit that would follow me around whenever I set it down.

Yeah, it's a damnation fine ending. Now, given that it's the series end I don't consider it an "everyone can die" moment like some do but that doesn't change the beauty of it.

Which book if I may ask?

It's called Warsaw 1944, and it's about the Warsaw Uprising. For research purposes.

And I remember reading that in times of emotional distress, your brain actually produces toxic chemicals. Tears are your body's way of clearing out those chemicals. So...crying isn't wimpy; it's actually the most metal thing your body does. :P

Does that mean my tears are literally made from poison?

Ah, yes. The pug spren.

I keep telling Twi that she should join The Knights Awkward. I MEAN HER SPREN COULD LOOK LIKE THIS:

To talk about things that happened two pages back has anyone ever thought of how strange rain is?

Parts of the sea just falls from the sky, because.

There's a giant nuclear explosion in the sky, and on the days when it flares the brightest overhead, spilling the most of its radiation through the blackness of space and bathing our tiny little world with it, we sniff the clean air and say it's a great day for a picnic.

Well, it doesn't really flare the brightest. It stays the same brightess (unless there's a solar flare, which is not a good thing for humanity). It's just that the atmosphere gets clearer. Semantics, though. I could also talk about how the sun isn't a nuclear bomb because nuclear bombs are fission, not fusion, but your way is funnier.

It's surprising Mistborn is one of my favourites among Sanderson's books when it was the book I was reading when I got hospitalised :P

Didn't you know? I'm a Sentry. It's the only logical reason for how I manage to do work at 4-5am on consistently little sleep: I store wakefulness in the holidays and then tap it during the semester! :P

Update on the Twimom Saga:

She called me into her room earlier this morning, not to apologize (why would she do a silly thing like that?) but to tell me some things.

1. I'm turning my back on everything I used to believe in (which I'm not; I'm just becoming less conservative and am beginning to see church in a more negative light).

2. I'm immersing myself in the digital world (because that's where all my friends are...).

3. She gets the sense that I don't think she and my dad were fair to me growing up, and that I didn't have an easy life (I didn't, I spent my teen years depressed and mostly friendless because she criticized every friend I brought home and I didn't click with any of the people she wanted me to befriend).

4. I'm not telling her what's wrong; I shut down when asked a question because she thinks o feel she and Dad want to use that information to control me (um, yeah, back when I told you things, you'd store up anything I told you and fling it in my face when you were mad).

5. None of this is fair to her. She and my dad were perfect parents, I wasn't an easy child to raise, and she wants a good relationship with me but she doesn't have to change anything for that to happen. It's all on me.

And honestly, I did tell her what was wrong, why I was mad at her. I've done it more than once over the years, and every time she spat in my face. If she thinks I'm the guilty party and she has nothing to apologize for, then she's lying about wanting a good relationship with me. What she wants is licence to treat me however she wants without consequences.

Maybe she'll change one day. But until that happens, I think the only thing that can help here is distance.

How can she be so close, yet still so wrong?
