That's actually N1. Thanks.

Just to let you know, players do sometimes do role trades that early. Quite often actually, which is why Kas and Ada were preaching for caution early on. I know I've done quite a few role trades in my short experience in these games, but I usually am hesitant to do them on the first Cycle just because I haven't talked much with anyone at that point.

Edit: Vote tally

Alfa(1): Lopen

Lopen(1): Phattemer

Steph(1): Hellscythe

Phatt(1): Biggoron

Alvron(1): Steph

@Biggoron, could you read my posts about Alfa? I really think he's evil, and would like your opinion of him. The Turn is ending in about 15 minutes. No pressure though..........

Sorry to double post, but I wanted to make sure this is seen. If any players are unsure about who we should lynch and don't want to rush it, we don't have to lynch someone. We still have 2 Mistborn, and I don't think the Traitors have an Elantrian, so we can just kill whoever we want that way if you guys don't feel comfortable with how this is playing out.

Well, besides a few small comments about it here and there, I only ever mentioned being really suspicious of Wilson in a pm with phat, and I never said anything about Araris, because nothing really struck me as "off" about him. I suppose that suspectometer scale sucked at getting across that I didn't suspect him. Probably because I'm an idiot and don't know that 5-6 probably more accurately means middling to high, as opposed to my low to middling suspicion.

Again, I'd like to state that I meant my 5-6 as low to middling suspicion. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Alright.

For future reference, what's the top range of your suspectometer?

I figured it was pretty normal, it's just the speed with which he asked was jarring, and the fact that after I refused he basically never said anything ever again. Even after a few prompts.
And yeah, dude, that's some pretty convincing stuff (that I had actually...skimmed(sorry again for laziness)). But isn't he a hemalurgist? The last claimed one? If he's loyal that makes the HI be kaput, right? Is that that bad of a thing even?
...
I don't know why I'm trusting one of my biggest suspicious, but alright, you've kinda convinced me. phat and Alfa.

Edit:

@Rae 10. I know, I know. I'm bad at accurately doing the scalings. Sue me.  :P

There is still another living claimed Hemalurgist I believe. Unless Ada was messing with me.....

The HI turning would probably be bad. He is aware of most of the important village roles, so that would not be good to allow into Traitor hands.

Night 8: A Journey to Other Worlds

Captain's Journal, 05/02/513 AK, Night Shift

The different forms of Investiture that we know of have all been categorised by scientists as 'end-positive', 'end-neutral' or 'end-negative', relating to the process in which the Investiture is used; whether it ends up infusing the user with additional power, or if there is an overall loss when used.

It is curious that all forms of end-negative Investiture we know of, Hemalurgy and the ancient fell magic of Domination, were once both considered entirely evil. But we didn't hold that view with other end-negative processes. Fire, for example. We use it to cook, to keep ourself warm, and for less pleasant purposes. But I doubt anyone would historically would say it was an evil force. I suppose the reason that we see it as beneficial, as we do Hemalurgy now, because we can use it.

Our life depends on it, in many ways now. This ship could not run without Hemalurgists poking and prying into its systems, ensuring that everything works both correctly and efficiently. Even back home, the computer systems that run our lives rely on the Hemalurgic spikes implanted in them, allowing them to circumvent the laws of the Physical Realm by making use of those of the others.

With the death of Arandar, it became obvious that some Hemalurgy was being used for evil purposes once again. He had a spike which contained within it the ability to bestow a Shardblade upon a person. By piercing himself with it, he gained himself a weapon that few on this ship should have access to, and just as few could defend themselves against.

Perhaps this is why my crew turned on another Hemalurgist the day afterwards. Far-Astra was quiet, almost unnoticeable at this point. He did not concern himself with our current problems (something I would be most glad to label as 'evil', his inaction), but busied himself working on the ship.

But silence has a way of unnerving people, of making them jumpy. They become paranoid, and prone to mistakes. Mistakes are acceptable in this situation, can be handled with tact and care, but that makes the no less regrettable, regardless of the circumstances which drove us to them. Far-Astra has been strung up by my crew. His duties will not go unfilled, however, as I have given his (and Arandar's official) Spikes out to the rest of the Hemalurgists in the crew.

On the positive side, our mission is almost reaching the mid-point. Our Voidbringer-scouts have detected a world that they believe has a breathable atmosphere, or at least an atmosphere we can convert into breathable air using our equipment. We look to make a landing soon, but we will need to remain in orbit around it for some time until we know precisely what the composition is, as well as whether the planet itself meets our criteria for mining, or whether we will need to search for longer.

Harmony grant that this trip was worth it.

Sooooo... Tomorrow's lynch is the HI? Right?

You can't lynch the HI. Or kill the HI. Not unless you want to destroy this shardship we're all living in.

Posted

Sorry for not doing any voting at the end of the day. I just finished up my last week of classes and was fairly busy.

Now if we do have a forger out there still then the first thing we need to do is get someone trusted forged into a hemalurgists so we can find out for sure about the HI.

Posted

If we discover that Hellscythe has been turned, what should we do? We can't lynch him, we can't kill him, and he's still going to be able to vote and scan.

Posted (edited)

I'm still good. There's one more hemalurgist out there.

Obviously this doesn't mean too much to all of you because if I really did turn I would probably say that I'm still good because I wouldn't want my words to be drifted into oblivion as eliminator mumbo jumbo.

It's fine if you don't all believe me. Putting myself in your shoes, I can't blame you I'd be skeptical as well.

Now that we're past all the "Did he turn?" stuff let's get back to the real game.

Steph I'm assuming you killed my hemalurgist?

edit: lied. Steph didn't do it. The vote already had 2 on Alfa. Regardless I still don't believe you're not a traitor Feruchemist.

Yeah, I didn't change any votes and I didn't get on in time even if I had wanted to. I probably wouldn't have though since Alfa was already top voted. It would've been funny though if I had because then he'd have died from all of us siblings. It sucks that he died, but I don't really blame my bros for killing him since Lopen was pretty convincing.

Hellscythe, do you have a grudge against me or something? It seems like you're solely basing your suspcions of me off of my role. It's possible that there's another feruchemist who could be an eliminator and its also possible that there's 0 traitor feruchemists, the latter of which I believe.

I wouldn't mind you having suspcions of me if you actually had reasons for seemingly tunneling me other than me being a feruchemist.

P.S. Does anyone know if the Kandra ever scanned me?

Posted (edited)

First off, sorry about that lynch guys(and sorry to Alfa too). I felt like the evidence we had pointed to him being a Traitor. In hindsight, it might have been for the best to just have had a no-lynch and discuss it some more with everyone. Hopefully the other Hemalurgist is loyal and not lying about their role or anything, or the HI will have spilled his guts to the remaining Traitors by now.

I'm just gonna say this now. I think we should Kandra scan the other Hemalurgist to check on the HI's alignment. I can't reveal their name, so I'll just do this: Hemalurgist. I'm gonna need to think about things before I suggest any Mistborn targets, if I do at all.

Edit: Oh yeah, was anyone role-blocked?

Edit2: Steph was scanned as Loyal. We decided to wait until the Night to better hide the Kandra's identity.

Well alright then I'll retract my votes on Steph.

It's not that I have a grudge on you steph you're just my biggest lead.

Hellscythe, did you scan the hemalurgist to make sure that they are really a hemalurgist?

No, but seeing as I haven't turned yet I'm going to take his/her word for it. I have other people to scan tonight.
