firstRainbowRose she/her
I figured it might be better to have everyone reacting to the new rules for the line in one place, thus this topic. Personally, I think this is a good idea since it keeps everyone out of the cold.
Oudeis he/him
Aru? Is this for a specific event?
WeiryWriter he/him
This thread is in reference to the BYU Bookstore's new policy that Brandon posted about here.
Lightning he/him
Okay, so I understand how to get into the raffle for books 1-100. But how do I get a good place on the digital line? That part wasn't very clear.
firstRainbowRose she/her
Sign up early in the day. Outside of the raffle it's based on the time your form was received (I think...)

Lightning he/him
Hmmm... but can't I ALREADY sign up to get the pre-ordered book at the BYU store? What do you mean sign up early in the day?
little wilson she/her
How early you preorder your book has no bearing on your place in the digital line. The digital line is separate. If you want to be in the raffle for the first 100 numbers, you need to register on the digital line in the first 24 hours. After that, it's based on the order you sign up in the line. So if you don't make the hundred, it's about signing up on the digital line early to get a lower number (though it'll be around 400 because of Wellers and the other bookstores).

Oh, that makes a lot of sense. So I just have to order by Oct. 1st to keep whatever number I get. Final question: as far as I could tell, we are supposed to check the website around noon tomorrow for the digital line website. Is that right?
Zas678 he/him
Yes, and here it is!
Lightning he/him
I was checking right up until my class started at 12:00pm. So I missed the sign-up time by about 55 minutes. Oh well, maybe I'll get REALLY lucky in the raffle.
Seonid he/him
Can I go to the midnight release party if I don't pre-order a copy of Shadows of Self? Or if I want to order the new edition of Elantris instead, will that count?
Zas678 he/him
Yes, of course you can go to the midnight release, but I think that you'd have to wait in line (possibly at the back? I'm not sure) if you want a book signed. But as far as I know, you're welcome to be there and listen to Brandon, and meet sharders, and all that jazz. And like Brandon says, if you are going to a signing at a place, it's a good idea to get a book from there to show some appreciation for them doing this for Brandon.
Lightning he/him
zas678, Are you sure they can get into the midnight release? I seem to remember at the last BYU release, we had to have the wristbands we got from ordering the book. But maybe I'm misremembering... Zas678 he/him
I don't know. I wasn't there for Words of Radiants, it could be different than I'm remembering. EDIT- Though I bet it would be a lot easier if you preordered Elantris from BYU- that would make it a lot easier to get in if they are being picky.
