Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Take another look Well played Silverblade5... Well played. 1
Voidus Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I would join in but as the first lurker of the DA I need to maintain a certain number of spikes at all times so hugging can get awkward.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 No matter what happened before, day will always come. Tomorrow the Sun will lift itself over the hills, and the world will be new. What will it be like? He didn't know, but he thought it might be good. He hoped it would be good. "It's all right," sang the Nightingale. "It's all right," said the Man,..."I think it will be all right." He closed his eyes, too. "Anyway," he said, "I don't think the story's over yet." 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Someone I thought I was a friend told the class I was a crybaby. Since then, I have been called a wimp maybe 5 times. I wonder if I am. 1

I wonder if I am. You know what's wimpy behavior? Calling someone a wimp because ONE person called him a crybaby. Forming an opinion from ONE half-rumor, and acting on it, is wimpy behavior. It shows they refuse to exercise their power of reasoning enough to gain the evidence necessary to contradict that rumor, and to act accordingly. Going along with the crowd in ganging up on one person is wimpy. You are not. 2

I wonder if I am. Next time someone tries to call you a wimp, try your best to intimidate them. Get right up in their face, close as you can, and, in a very low voice, a dangerously low voice, tell them exactly why they're wrong.
Mistrunner Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Someone I thought I was a friend told the class I was a crybaby. Since then, I have been called a wimp maybe 5 times. I wonder if I am. Upvote for hopefully making you feel better, not because I agree with them dumbos *hugs* I know what it's like to have a friend who turns out... not. It hurts. And it also hurts when people are being wimpy and ganging up on somebody who one person insulted. And you're definitely not wimpy. You're awesome. Just ask anybody around here. Now you go out there and be awesome, kay? *hugs again*

DreamEternal Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Next time someone tries to call you a wimp, try your best to intimidate them. Get right up in their face, close as you can, and, in a very low voice, a dangerously low voice, tell them exactly why they're wrong. That is an horrible advice. You must tell people they are wrong with an even tone and civilized manners, so they feel stupid and you look unhurt. Trying to look scary more often than not makes you look silly, and when it works, it makes you look like the guilty one. Edited October 17, 2015 by CognitivePulsePattern
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 That is the worst kind of advice I've ever heatd. You must tell people they are wrong with an even tone and civilized manners, so they feel stupid and you look unhurt. Or make sure they're present when you casually toss a grizzly bear over your shoulder, as you do each Tuesday. 3

Zathoth Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Well, whatever you do dont handle bullying the way I did. By just taking it. I dont know what you should do though...
DreamEternal Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 You're right, but kids at my school don't take both of those kindly. Yeah, but trying to be scary is more likely to make you look silly. I tried before.
little wilson she/her Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I got rear-ended today. I dropped one of my friends off after work (we carpool since we work near each other), and was going to the store right down the road to get milk. And I got rear-ended. My car is mostly fine, though there's a nice dent on the bumper on the passenger side (he tried to swerve to avoid me but was too close), so that's good. I wasn't terribly worried, because I figured "I have insurance, and I didn't cause the accident, and he has insurance, and everything will be fine." I called my insurance, because even though it's after-hours, my insurance has 24/7 claim service. They let me know that I'd have to pay the deductible if I wanted repairs done under my own policy. I'd already talked to my dad, and he told me not to let my insurance do that, since I'm not at fault. They told me to file the claim with the other driver's insurance. So I called them. Turns out they're located in Chicago, and even though they say you can file a claim at this number, they don't have after-hours service, and they also say that you have to report a claim within 48 hours of it happening, yet because they don't have after-hours service and their office is only open Monday-Friday, I can't report until Monday morning. Over 48 hours later. And now I'm worried that maybe they won't cover it so I'll have to pay for the damages and I really don't want to even if I can afford it. So now I'm getting stupidly emotional and just want to curl up in a ball on my bed and cry. Even though that won't fix a thing. Ugh. And this day was going so well. 2
