Kobold King he/him Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 A intergalactic war might start over the end of Memes of Radiance! And I end my day with a new Nighthound post... yay. You must meme, Twi! For your country! For your species!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Oh I shall meme. I shall meme with vigor. Edge, think of this: You know how Mollie brings me shoes when I come home? She's started doing that in the mornings when I wake up too. And when she saw I was feeling down last night, she brought me her chewing bone. 2

Mailliw73 he/him Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Edge, Altermind's all ready to hear about the Voidbringers now.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Edge, Altermind's all ready to hear about the Voidbringers now. Ugh, stupid Quota. I'll upvote it just as soon as he releases me. So what was the plan with Funtimes? I figured it was have her go to the MoNA first, but would it be easier to have her go to Thoughttown before that?
Blackhoof Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So I'm in a discussion in the Reckoners section about relative strength of Epics and going strictly by energy produced I think that Curveball might well be the most powerful Epic in the Reckonerverse. Consequently this means that one of the most powerful Epics in Oregon is Big Al. Justification for why Algaze survives Oregons destruction: Complete. I think Mitosis is more powerful- he creates entire bodies very quickly out of nothing. Far more mass and thus far more energy than a bullet. Of course, Portland will fall when Big Al summons the infinite McMuffin upon his enemies! Even Brandon himself said he is a powerful Epic indeed! Looking at the list of players, we have grown quite a bit. Granted the level of activity varies but still. (What about Newan by the way?) Newan? Ill add him as a former player (he isn't still around is he?) Just logging on to let you guys know that I don't have much time at the moment to contribute to the Corvallis thread. If anyone wants to kill off my characters be my guest. sad to see you go :'( mind if i write for Gunsmoke when he is confronted by someone for his attack and killed?
Kobold King he/him Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Ugh, stupid Quota. I'll upvote it just as soon as he releases me. I'll upvote it for you! * clicks * Wait... now who's gonna upvote it for me? Twi, this is very important. As soon as your quota refills, you have to upvote Mailliw's post on my behalf! You're my only hope! "Don't do that. It might hurt you. The backstabbing traitor didn't survive his encounter with his new employer." Flashpoint dropped the cases into Gunz's hand and turned to leave the store. His guards followed him with the equipment and loaded it into their truck. He flew above them on the way back to Thoughttown. Calamity, this job is lonely. And much too manly. Filled with men, that is. Why couldn't Altermind have had an attractive brunette instead of the idiot Scorch? Also, how well known is Mr. Gunz? I bet the Empire could rush his shop and loot everything inside of it with ease... 2
Blackhoof Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 They could, but then it would guarantee no weapons dealer would ever do business with them (or return to Portland) again

I figured it was have her go to the MoNA first, but would it be easier to have her go to Thoughttown before that? whichever you and Kobold prefer. It doesn't matter much to me. You're my only hope! Also, how well known is Mr. Gunz? I bet the Empire could rush his shop and loot everything inside of it with ease... Thanks guys! No way, how could there possibly be a girl that fits Flashpoint's desires almost to the letter only a short distance away?! And what are the chances of Backtrack bringing her up while in Thoughttown? They could, but then it would guarantee no weapons dealer would ever do business with them (or return to Portland) again That's exactly why Altermind hasn't. Even he could take down Gunz fairly easy, especially with all these new Epics, but he's never done it because he has to live her permanently and he likes the weapons. He might threaten him every once in a while or kill a couple of Gunz's men, but that's it. Aside from paying less than he should have to, he's cordial enough to the man and any other dealers. Lightwards also has Funtimes to make stuff for him.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 . Lightwards also has Funtimes to make stuff for him. Yes, but if there's one thing we know about the Emperor, it's that he'll happily shoot someone because their funnel cake was slightly larger than his was. 2
Mailliw73 he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Yes, but if there's one thing we know about the Emperor, it's that he'll happily shoot someone because their funnel cake was slightly larger than his was. True. But if Lightwards scares away Altermind's most consistent dealer, he'll be mad and start plotting the Empire's demise even more than he already is.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 True. But if Lightwards scares away Altermind's most consistent dealer, he'll be mad and start plotting the Empire's demise even more than he already is. It'd be a declaration of war, to be sure.
Blackhoof Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Well war is good.... there are still whole districts of portland that aren't complete rubble yet.....
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Well war is good.... there are still whole districts of portland that aren't complete rubble yet..... True, but declaring war literally the day after they strike an alliance? It might be just like an Epic, but I think the Thoughttown/Empire alliance needs a better payoff than that.
Voidus Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I think Mitosis is more powerful- he creates entire bodies very quickly out of nothing. Far more mass and thus far more energy than a bullet. Mitosis' clones had reduced mass to conserve matter, which was why they couldn't use guns. So yeah even the one other character who could create stuff out of nothing still wasn't as powerful.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Voidus, I don't know if you've read Mouldbreaker and Alexio's posts in Salem yet, but if you have, what would be Soulcaster's ruling on it? Would Alexio win for being the first to actually strike a killing blow or would Mouldbreaker for technically getting Alexio killed first? Or would it be a draw for the good entertainment? I just want to write a final post for Alexio and the outcome would completely change it. Edited August 20, 2015 by Mailliw73
Comatose he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Kind of a random thing, but after reading Silver's posts in the last Question about how Converter could break out of her restraints, I got kind of curious, and started doing some research into heat capacity. Turns out, there's a literal crap-ton of energy in the human body. (To raise or cool the human body by one degree Celsius, you have to add/remove around 300 kilojoules of energy.) And, it just so happens, steel can't hold much energy before changing states (there's only about 600kj/kg between 0* and it's melting point, in fact). So if Converter removed two degrees of her own body heat she could just melt her restraints. Assuming she recovered the heat quickly, there would be a very minimal overall loss, so she probably wouldn't even experience hypothermia. And of course, if you wanted to just break the restraints instead of melting them, that would be even easier, as it would require a lot less energy to shatter the metal through thermal shock than it would to melt it. [/random science discussion] (I think I'm starting to realize just how overpowered Converter and Frostfire are. ) Two things to consider with this plan of action (aside from what has already been said), is that (A) the restraints are made of tungsten, which has a melting point approx 2000 degrees © higher than the melting point of steel, and ( the air temperature in there has got to be close to -40 C (Sorry I'm using Celsius, you can blame it on the fact that I'm Canadian). Converter would already be battling hypothermia, taking in heat just to keep herself warm (she could find heat, of course, since Rainmaker can't lower temperatures to absolute 0, there just wouldn't be much of it). If Converter can find away to escape, I'm fine with it, as long as we are working with an accurate set of facts. I just looked back, and noticed that I didn't actually specify what metal the restraints were made of (or at least I couldn't find a mention if there was one), but in my head the chains were tungsten. 1

Too bad that those cakes aren't made with antimater raisins

He'd award Mouldbreaker the win on that, he usually rules in favour of the last person to actually die, setting up a surprise comeback like that would be something he'd greatly enjoy too so he'd definitely rule in favour of them. Mailliw73 he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If it was my choice I'd definitely rule for Alex. Unfortunately characters never do what you storming want them to do. Eh,I'm don't even know who I'd rule for. Each did very well and there's a good argument to be made for either of them. I'd probably rule it as a draw, with both receiving favor.
Blackhoof Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Mitosis' clones had reduced mass to conserve matter, which was why they couldn't use guns. So yeah even the one other character who could create stuff out of nothing still wasn't as powerful. actually his clones were able to use guns- they do a few times throughout. Its only when the clones number in the hundreds and start weakening, not to mention David's singing, that one clone tries to fire only to have the gun disintegrate. So Mitosis can make up to hundreds of perfect copies of himself, each with a gun with several bullets in it, seemingly endlessly (as long as clones keep dying). and we haven't seen any upper limits on how much power Conflux can put out, either.
