The only suggestion I might make to Renegade (as well as to future GMs) is to limit the number of cycle-extensions you allow. This game basically turned into a Long Game since the majority of day cycle were extended to 48 hours. While I see and understand the need for the occasional cycle extension, players shouldn't be able to rely on them to allow for more discussion. Players ought to go into a game expecting the cycles to end on time and have all the discussions/votes/actions that they want to perform done before the deadlines.

I've used extensions as a GM myself, but they are something that I've thought about as well. As a GM, they're useful for not only giving everyone the chance to speak up, but also a way to give you more time to get everything ready. Seriously, our GMs are under a lot of pressure to not only analyze everything going on in a game (which is a lot. I mean they're going over every angle every turn to try to make sure that it's the best game possible), but also to present it to everyone in an understandable manner. They're under a lot of pressure is my point.

But like Hero said, there's something to be said for the deadline. The fact that everyone only has so much time to make their case, and the clock is ticking down, is part of what makes the game so intense! You're not only fighting against the Eliminators, but also the deadline! You have to work with the knowledge you have at the time, whatever little bit that is and 90% of the time, an extension isn't going to give you much more to work from. You have to try to get what information you can during the time you have.

There's no way to really set a hard rule on extensions and I wouldn't want to even if it was possible. Every game is different and each will have its own twists and turns. That said, I, like Hero, would also urge our GMs to be sparing with extensions. They have the insight to know when one is superfluous or not and can make that judgement in their games far better than anyone else could, so they deserve to have the final say.

As far as the game was concerned: well played, Conspirators! This was a fun game to watch; especially since it was so close at the end!  Those are always my favorites though. :P

The corruption ability was brilliant, Ren and it played out amazingly. It's one that I would love to see in future games! :)

And, even though they lost, the Nobles put up one heck of a fight! You guys didn't stop all the way up to the end, so you deserve to be proud of yourselves as well!

Overall, just a great game. I wish I had joined in the fun!

Oh, I felt like such a newb. That was really crushing, to be assassinated right after being spared from the lynch. I had been really active that day because it was the last day of summer vacation for me, and I was avoiding my summer homework. Of course, I did kind of deserve it. :) I was just glad that my death confused everyone.

That was a really fun game, sart and I had so much momentum. And then you eliminators got super lucky and basically won the game right there. I think there were a lot of in actives that hindered the game, but Congratulations you guys, no one was on to you guys and that's something to be proud of.

Good job conspirators, you had everyone looking the wrong way almost all game.

Thanks for running the game Renegade!

On another note I should really stop signing up for MR games. All of my losses in SE have been in MRs as well as 4 out of 5 deaths.

So I was rereading the beyonders series (by Brandon Mull) and I noticed that the bodyguard of the chancellor is named Norval. Which is the same name Alvorn used in this game.

So is anyone else using obscure names from books?

Actually it's a complete coincidence.  I've never read the beyonders series but I may have to start.  Also my name was Norlav not Norval.  However I have used Norval in another game.

Oops, I meant Norlav.

Ah well, too bad. Even though you always use a recombination of the letters "alvron" in your name and Norlav is only mentioned once and dies immediately, the possibility wasn't ruled out. Even if it was a stretch.

So you're saying I die in a book I haven't even read yet? :o  Man, I just can't catch a break.:P   At least I have something new to read now. :)

Well that looks like this game should be a wrap! Of course, many thanks to our dedicated GMs and all of our wonderful players for help making these games continue to be a thing!

As always, if anyone would like to try your hand at running a game, please get a hold of MyselfWilson or Meta. Not only will we get you added to the list, but I'm sure we'd be more than willing to help out in any way we can as well!

You can also ask questions and get some hints and feedback from everyone over here in our Art of Game Creation thread as well. With all the games that we've run so far, we have plenty of experienced GMs that can help you refine any game you're thinking about!
