The Honor Spren she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I am a Jew, my ancestors were Jews, my family are Jews. Yes. I just realized that I know nothing about modern Jews. Only the ones in the Bible. Do you still follow the Law of Moses?
Mistrunner Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) And if I can transfer to BYU at some point, I'll make even more people happy, as my mother also went there and my aunt teaches there... Seriously. My family is weirdly academic. Yes! Go to BYU! I will be there... someday... Also, that Latin choir piece has this phrase. "Dona nobis." Guess what I keep reading it as. +Slowswift Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Oh, there are tons of traditions like that. At lone peak you get your first kiss in public and get "knighted," and at UVU you kiss somewhere and become a "true wolverine." True Aggie... True Wildcat... Utah is weird.

I have seen some of your stuff and it is really good. 1
Kestrel she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 You would probably be good at an art major. I have seen some of your stuff and it is really good.I am not majoring in art.I don't care to continue it on a professional level. There are basically no jobs I can actually get on it. I want to go into science like biochemistry, genetics, or pharmaceuticals but I'll likely be weeded out fast. Animation is another thing but again, you have to be the best of the best to get an actually paying job. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 lol college im so scared of it it hurts i want to get out of my house but responsibility i don't even know what i want to major in and i need to start applying soon nobody will accept me tho lol why do i try I was terrified too--and I wound up getting accepted to all of the three colleges I applied to. (I stuck with local schools and went with the one that had the lowest tuition.) You don't have to declare a major until your junior year anyway, so just get all of your prereqs taken care of and look at classes in an area that interests you for your electives. You'll do fine. 1
Mistrunner Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Honestly, one of my biggest apprehensions about college is what I'll tell people when they ask where I'm from. I've lived in three states, and the number will possibly rise in the next few years. "So, where are you from?" "...Well." 1
Kestrel she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I guess. I'm planning on going to the local community college for basics (not electives), seeing as I'm already enrolled in it because of dual credit. Two of my friends are seniors and they're planning on rooming together and doing the same thing I am, so I might join them when I graduate if they are still at the college. I'll probably forget to pay my bills tho Or even cash my paychecks honestly 1

That's what I do, and I haven't missed a payment date yet. 1
Kestrel she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 It isn't that easy for me I literally will try to push it back as far as possible My phone keeps telling me to update to ios 9.1 Its been telling me that every day, for two weeks. Not done yet. I have no idea what's wrong with me, because I know I should I just don't. Ever.

Not done yet. I have no idea what's wrong with me, because I know I should I just don't. Ever. There's a pretty big difference between updating your phone and paying bills, in my experience. One isn't a measure of your capability to do the other. I've been ignoring my phone's prompts to update, but I still pay my bills on time. Bills are just like assignments where the only way to pass is to hand over some money. Thinking of them like that makes it easier to pay them on time.
Kestrel she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Oh man, that'll make it worse. I'll do it the night before at like 11 pm.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Oh man, that'll make it worse. I'll do it the night before at like 11 pm. Mark down the time you have to have it paid by and do it online, then. Or frame it some way that makes it easier for you to pay it on time. Like a bribe to the Mafia, maybe. Pay the Electricity Godfather by 5 PM Thursday, or shower in the dark, capice? 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) I just signed up for an autism walk. I actually dislike the charity involved. All of the adult people I know who are on the autism spectrum have varying levels of issues with it, mostly because they vehemently disagree with the group's classification of autism as a disease. They don't believe that they need "curing". But...this is my brother and his girlfriend, and they are doing it for my nephew. Nephew is four, and far from old enough to form an opinion on things. So I will go and support my family, and someday when he is old enough to start articulating his feelings on things, I'll have a little chat with him and tell him that *I* don't think that there's anything "wrong" with him. His brain is just wired differently, that's all. Edited October 2, 2015 by Kaymyth 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 We'll all see. I'm just scared. If you want to see how much you already know and how much you still need to learn, check out Adulting by Kelly Williams Brown. It has all the basics and then some, from home care to finance to cooking to romance. For me, it helped me see that I already knew quite a bit about being an adult, and filled in the knowledge gaps I had.
Mistrunner Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I'm just glad I don't have to worry about adulting for a while yet. It still freaks me out sometimes. I can't be a responsible adult! I'd end up eating nothing but ramen, stir fry and eggs and attempting to pay bills with badly written poetry. This is one of the reasons my life's goal is to be admitted into an insane asylum! 2

And as for the bills--do you get your assignments in on time? If so, you'll have no trouble with bills. 1

I've quite honestly been kind of out of it lately, but I'm usually fairly good at remembering work. 1

That's all you need. Get them in on time, and you pass.
Mestiv he/him Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) Honestly, one of my biggest apprehensions about college is what I'll tell people when they ask where I'm from. I've lived in three states, and the number will possibly rise in the next few years. "So, where are you from?" "...Well." Just tell them you're from everywhere I didn't have any fears regarding going to university, but maybe that's because I was 19 back then. At what age do you go to college in US? I've never thought that there is a book about being an adult o.O now I start to wonder if I'm doing OK Edited October 2, 2015 by Mestiv 1
Mailliw73 he/him Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Oh, good! ...though I was a bit baffled at the USU tradition of smooching over a giant "A". Yes!!!! Come to USU!! True Aggie, eh, it's kinda weird, but AF has the True Caveman tradition too, haven't you heard of it? It's kissing through the A by the football field. USU's A is a lot smaller though, only about two feet high.
Blaze1616 he/him Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 ... Thanks for the answers! I really appreciate it. It sucks that there's no Jewish population around me to ask these things to.
