+Slowswift Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 well things are going to start getting real heated in Astoria, so a mundane murder investigation, if it would even have received attention in normal circumstances, would probably be ignored. But an Epic loyal to the government being assassinated would certainly be an interesting plot development. Would shake things up for the Astoria government, considering they are pretty secure and confident in their power at the moment. Anyone wanna let me assassinate their Epic? All joking aside, I was thinking more of a Timelock's-buddy-dies-horribly-now-he's-an-Epic-PI-type-thing. Doesn't that not make no sense??? [/crazypinkiepie] The closest thing dealing with what's already established in Astoria to the poision drink bit is Mary assimilating someone's blood to force them to cooperate. Humwhatnow? Maaaybe... I honestly have only a vague idea of what you're referring to. I only skimmed Astoria, not do an in-depth analysis on it.

On a more serious note, Shiny Sparkle does understand the concept of no, if she is told it in plain terms she can't deny.) To be entirely honest, in the short time they interacted with each other there were already so many (potential) abusive relationship flags raised that together with Edgerunner's backstory, I'm pretty squicked out by it. (Doesn't help that both characters are currently just throwing their powers around... then again Voidus is currently the only one that actually pulled an Epic getting currupted from the use of their powers straight instead of handwaving it.) Two possibilities here: 1. You're referring to PP and Penumbra, in which case I'd have to disagree and say that was probably the most overt handwaving away of corruption of any character 2. More likely a reference to Impact in which case... yeah pretty much that's what I was going for, I noticed we've had plenty of characters suddenly becoming an evil slontze upon becoming an Epic but not much in the way of actually showcasing the corruption so I thought I'd explore it a bit and I already had some vague ideas along those lines for MV or Impact. You don't read the Dalles... why not? On a different not, Voidus and Sirce, how long were you planning for that base to remain hidden? The Adventurer's probably going to do something today that will make them somewhat more obvious but since they've drunk Mary's blood I didn't assume it was all that hidden anyway. More just from casual observers and other unafilliated Epics than the Astorian government itself. Plus the whole robbing an entire neighbourhood including an entire house is probably going to trip some alarms I'll take her over Obliteration easily, (although that McMuffin is tough comepetition ) though we may have to find a less confusing name. Also i think you guys are being a bit harsh on poor old Frostfire sure he nearly killed an entire clinic because of a perceived insult, but most Epics would have. And yeah he got angry and snippy, but an entire caravan full of people he had promised to protect had just been wiped out. I think I'd be a bit mad at myself if I let that happen, too. But still, it would be interesting (if sad ) if he becomes abusive and Edgerunner gets stuck with another abusive boyfriend. It would make a nice segway into a relationship with Flashpoint and a love triangle.

RandomRevival he/him Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Ok, and now for the random epic making of the day: PianoPlay: Primary powers: Fast learner: Can instantly learn to play any song in any piano Sky Piano: Can open up random portals in the sky that release full pianos that chrush his enemies Mind Melody: Can play any ammount of pianos in a 500 feet radius with his mind. Secondary power: Piano reconstruction: Can make any broken piano be restored to its full condition and reconstruct it so it makes a different sound. Passive: Internal Organ: Any wound gets healed if a song by a piano is heard by him. PianoPlay is one of the most insane epics of all. He lives in a mansion made out of pianos in the middle of nowhere and is practically invincible, since he can summon pianos at will and make them play a song to heal himself. His mansion is truly the work of a psycopath, mild as it might look from a distance, all the different pianos that make up the mansion emit different noises, one plays "MOOO" over and over again, and there have been several reports of one that plays "Red, violet, purple, Delicious meat to the goverment", as well as one that makes a high pitched scream. Before calamity he was a pino teacher that apparently was droven to the point of insanity at his obsesion with the piano. He spent entire weeks completely alone mastering his techniques and songs and when he did come out, people said he never talked to anyone, besides his students that is. It is said staying 1 day in his mansion of different noises is enough to drive one insane, but he is shown to like it, and has said that he "Finds the melody calming" Weakness: Violin music. Any kind of violin music within his ear's reach will cancel out his Internal Organ, Sky Piano and Mind Melody abilities. 2

We know that at her resurrection she's at her most powerful, she certainly seemed a match for Prof, yet just a short while after her resurrection in Steelheart she was threatening to murder herself, not David even when it certainly would have been easier.

Another thing to remember is that Edgerunner isn't the only one for whom this relationship is going to cause a bunch of character development. Frostfire is liable to change a fair bit too. Whether those changes will make him more or less likely to be abusive is still up in the air, but hopefully I can write him well enough to do the arc justice, and keep things interesting for all of you. How good does the violin playing in question have to be? If all it takes is a melody, no matter how basic (or squeaky) I might have finally found my calling as a Reckoner.
