Anyone wanna let me assassinate their Epic?

All joking aside, I was thinking more of a Timelock's-buddy-dies-horribly-now-he's-an-Epic-PI-type-thing. Doesn't that not make no sense??? [/crazypinkiepie]

Humwhatnow? Maaaybe... I honestly have only a vague idea of what you're referring to. I only skimmed Astoria, not do an in-depth analysis on it. :P

Mary can assimilate the blood her own is touching, so once she gets you she can control your blood. You'll have trouble finding a more effective way to have someone do something and then die afterwards.

Two possibilities here:

1. You're referring to PP and Penumbra, in which case I'd have to disagree and say that was probably the most overt handwaving away of corruption of any character :P

2. More likely a reference to Impact in which case... yeah pretty much that's what I was going for, I noticed we've had plenty of characters suddenly becoming an evil slontze upon becoming an Epic but not much in the way of actually showcasing the corruption so I thought I'd explore it a bit and I already had some vague ideas along those lines for MV or Impact.

The Adventurer's probably going to do something today that will make them somewhat more obvious but since they've drunk Mary's blood I didn't assume it was all that hidden anyway. More just from casual observers and other unafilliated Epics than the Astorian government itself. Plus the whole robbing an entire neighbourhood including an entire house is probably going to trip some alarms :P

DanceRunner?

...

Actually I like that name, stealing for an Epic. Good luck in your search! :P

I was talking about Impact, yes.

Yeah, they aren't even close to discrete. Another thing the Adventure (or you) might want to be careful about is him accidentally getting squished by teleporting in the Metal's range, not that it would be much of a problem to him. It's just that it's very likely if he teleports all over town.

Storm you Voidus, you stole my loooooovvvvvvvvvvve! :P

What does OTP stand for?

Also i think you guys are being a bit harsh on poor old Frostfire :P sure he nearly killed an entire clinic because of a perceived insult, but most Epics would have. And yeah he got angry and snippy, but an entire caravan full of people he had promised to protect had just been wiped out. I think I'd be a bit mad at myself if I let that happen, too.

But still, it would be interesting (if sad :( ) if he becomes abusive and Edgerunner gets stuck with another abusive boyfriend. It would make a nice segway into a relationship with Flashpoint and a love triangle.

Nope, just nope. If Frostfire ever gets abusive, she'll be out of there. Hypno post going up in 3...2...1.

Good, good. Wonder how he will take that :P

so once the Hypno/Rainmaker interaction is done, we good to move into the next day in Corvallis? :)

I thought so but at first all I could think of was PP, so I typed up a whole explanation about how he's really extremely handwavy with corruption then I realized it was probably Impact but I didn't have the heart to delete all of it so I just chopped it down a little :P

Well I guess it's a good thing he has self reincarnation then, so feel free to mention the metal offhandedly squishing a teleporter if you feel it's necessary.

If Heatsink works for the government, wouldn't Rainmaker have sent him to assist with the converter thing? If so what is a good reason that he was not sent (yet).

So this is partially my fault. I actually had no idea Heatsink existed, or, if I did, completely forgot, so my apologies in that regard.

The IRL reason why Heatsink wasn't called in, despite being the perfect candidate to combat Converter, is because Heatsink didn't exist until after I had already made the post where Buttercup calls on IcyHot and Resistor. Looking at dates for posts, Heatsink was added to the Epics of Oregon thread a week or two after that post.

Could you refresh me on Heatsink's role? Is he a government friendly Epic, a worker for the government, or what? To my knowledge, we're trying to end the day in Corvallis to catch up with the other threads, which have all already pushed into the next morning. The last solid plot point we needed to finish before the end of the night was the one involving Hypno, which is happening right now.

As far as making an intro post goes, an option you could pursue is showing up at the park where Converter is being held and saying that Broadcast told you to show up. That would give you access to Gleeman's character Mannequin, and you'll be in the vicinity when Converter is freed (by whomever frees her).

Heatsink: Why didn't you call me?

Rainmaker: I would have but you didn't exsist.

Heatsink: Of course I exsited!

Rainmaker: Hypno, explain it to him please.

On a more relevant role, Converter could still have pumped him full of kinetic energy, so he wouldn't have been that big a help.

In game, I'm going to say this is one of many examples of Euphoria's absence affecting how things are done.  As a sort of human resources head, it would have been her who would have had the most detailed knowledge of all Corvallis's epics.  Perhaps, Buttercup was more familiar with IcyHot and Resistor, as they'd done some sort of security detail work for her, but without Euphoria, Heastsink was overlooked.  Feel free to add him in in the manner Blaze suggested, or in your own way, guarding Converter, at any time!

Good, good. Wonder how he will take that :P

so once the Hypno/Rainmaker interaction is done, we good to move into the next day in Corvallis? :)

Yes, that was my hope!  I'll finish the day off with another Euphoria flashback, just to make it clear what is happening, and start the new day with a Rainmaker post.

EDIT:  Actually, Redbird, tomorrow in game, we could do a fun scene where Hypno tries to convince Converter to get close enough so that Heatsink can absorb her energy through the observation hole, if Mailliw feels up to it.  Though, that might be scene to wait until Silver returns.

EDIT 2:  Blaze, would you like to do Buttercup's arrival next?  Then I can get a Rainmaker post and explain why everyone is here :).

Also, Mailiw, the sun would have set hours ago, and regardless, the clouds in the sky would have made it impossible to see.

That sounds good, so I will wait until tomorrow to introduce him then.

Remember yesterday, when we were exploring various shipping options for Obliteration?

Well. I WHOOCed one of them.

TAKE COMFORT IN THESE WORDS: This ship will never be explored in canon.

:( Why Twi, why?! We finally found something for Sam's mother to do.

"I've been considering Song of Songs chapter four, verse five."

 Dude, Obliteration, not while there are minors around. :P

Obliteration had married her mother—how did he even do that, with the legal system pretty much dead and judges killed or run out of town years ago?

Maybe he lead the ceremony herself? Or he did what everyone that wants to get married ooc does, kidnap Autumn. :P

Wow, Obliteration seems almost sweet here. Wonder what he's saying...

* reads Song of Songs chapter 4, verse 5 *

OH CALAMITY WHY

WHY DID YOU DO THAT

WHY DO I HAVE TO IMAGINE HIM SAYING THAT

Upvote. :wacko::P:lol:

Ah yes, my apologies. Will it be my last post before the end of the day (so I can wrap up Bubbles as well) or are you going to need/want responses?

Oh, come on. How would he even know about Autumn? I mean, it'd be fairly easy for him to kidnap her, or like you said, he could just lead the ceremony himself, a la the Eleventh Doctor in The Wedding of River Song, but still.

I'll need a couple of responses (perhaps one or two?).  No more than two, I think.  A lot of it will just be Buttercup following instructions though, so we could always just assume Buttercup is following Rainmaker's orders, if you'd rather not post again.

Obliteration knows about every religious person, all of them.

On a different note, you guys remember how I made Vapor Snake slightly Metal Gear inspired after playing MGS3. Well, Ground Zeroes/The Phantom Pain reminded me of how Big Boss ends up (something I forgot due to never playing the first two Metal Gear games from the NES era)... let's just say it doesn't bode well. Just make sure we don't let him close to bipedal nuke launching platforms.

*reads the verse*

Huh. You're right.

That…that almost seems like an unknown passive power. Useless, unless he wants to kidnap a minister to perform a marriage ceremony.

Do we even have any bipedal nuke launching platforms in The Dalles?

Having someone else do the honors is just more proper, you know. :P

Depends, does Arsenal get a say? :P

I really hope David Charleston never recites verse one or two to Megan.

Exactly! And with someone else conducting the ceremony, he can look deep and lovingly into Ms. Trattner's eyes. :P

I hope not. :o

Now we need an extra scene of obliteration appearing on Autumn's door step. ;)

Might I interest you in this Metal Gear ZEKE? big_thumb_8d6c4e8354d52b49d637b3772856ab

This bipedal tank among other systems has the capabilities to launch nuclear strikes from its railgun eliminating the need for an actual missile.

The technological ridiculousness of that weapon design is hurting my head more than any of David's metaphors.:P

I see a friend of realism that still likes floating museums. A hard sell I see Then would you maybe prefer tis Metal Gear Rex?

That one's pretty cool.

And hey, I don't really mind a bit of unrealistic technology. I just like poking fun at it whenever I see in fiction. I'm sure you understand. :P

Funily enough later games of the series also poke fun at the idea, especially 3 which plays before an Metal gear was actually build instead it has the Shagohod with its rocket engine.

Metal-Gear-%D1%84%D1%8D%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B

Interestingly enough ZEKE up there was the first proper Metal Gear and mostly build from scavanged parts. Than there's also Metal Gear Ray

Metal_Gear_RAY_(MGS4).gif

Which were designed as anti-Metal Gear to form a protctive fleet for Arsenal Gear, which was more of a mobile fortress hosting a system to censor/filter the entire internet in real time.
