Puck he/him Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I vote Jedi, because they're essentially burning Atium constantly (and without Vin's clever loophole)
Eerongal he/him Posted December 8, 2010 Author Posted December 8, 2010 I vote Jedi, because they're essentially burning Atium constantly (and without Vin's clever loophole) I'm pretty sure that the jedi's akin to "spidey sense" than burning atium e.g. they get an "I should step to the right", or "I need to duck" or "I should not be in front of that blaster right now" sensation Edit: Not saying they'd lose, just that they aren't essentially under the effects of infinite atium. Note that i'm also not a huge star wars buff, but i do, of course, like it.
ZeldaDad he/him Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Sorry but, does anyone know when these will be answered/how we will be notified?
Link Von Kelsier Harvey he/him Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 He's done this sort of thing before. Sometime in the next few weeks he'll get around to them, and will post on Facebook/Twitter/his blog when the answers are ready. Someone here will certainly also make an announcement when they see them.
Zas678 he/him Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Hey look! I found a question that got answered. On twitter, someone asked where Alloy was chronologically. Brandon replied: "So far, the books have been chronological. Alloy of Law is a little out of order, happening before KINGS." about 3 hours ago via TweetDeck in reply to mistlepro EDIT- Another one! Q-Cosmere question. Does Frost make any incognito appearences in any other books other than Dragonsteel? If so Book/chapter? A-He does not appear on screen in any published books, though he is referenced. He has a non-Interference policy. Perhaps this is who Hoid writes the letter to (I haven't read Dragonsteel)?
CrazyRioter she/her Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 He also said that Drehy (one of the minor bridgemen characters from WOK) is gay..... BrandonSandrson Brandon Sanderson @feelieking There's a gay man in Bridge Four, too. He hasn't had a big role yet. Drehy. 22 hours ago.

Good Ol' Frost! (Dances with glee because he's read Dragonsteel and actually knows this character)
Zas678 he/him Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 The alloy of law question though, means big things for us. Isn't alloy of law set with guns and such? Centuries after Mistborn? And if that's the case, that probably means that the other Elantris books and Nightblood are probably before it too. (Elantris 2 is like 10 years after, Elantris 3 is questionable, but is supposed to be 10 years after that, and Nightblood is supposed to be fairly close to Warbreaker). That means that the Dula chasing Hoid in WoK may not be Galladon. It may be his kid. or maybe even like a great-grandkid (but then again it could be him. Elantrians do have pretty long lives).

I don't suppose Frost happens to be a Dragon in Dragonsteel (I haven't read it, though not for lack of trying)? That would give some additional reasoning to the letter calling him "you old reptile".
Link Von Kelsier Harvey he/him Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Summary: Fact 1: Frost has a non-intervention policy. Fact 2: The recipient of the letter in The Way of Kings has a non-intervention policy. Fact 3: The letter writer called the recipient an "old reptile." Fact 4: Peter has outright stated that there is a dragon in Dragonsteel. Fact 5: I don't remember any dragons in Dragonsteel. (Doesn't mean there weren't any, just that I don't remember any. I read this over a year ago. Somebody else who's read it, am I just being stupid here?) I was going to post a crazy theory, but as I think about it, I start to think that maybe I do remember a dragon. But I'm not sure if I'm remembering it, or just making it up. I'm thinking...the characters see one? Flying...over the Shattered Plains? Maybe? ???

I'm thinking...the characters see one? Flying...over the Shattered Plains? Maybe? ??? There's a dragon in the prologue of Dragonsteel. It's really obvious. Interesting take on Frost, though, that I didn't think of before. Of course, I tend to be pretty tight-lipped on any unpublished works I've read...
Link Von Kelsier Harvey he/him Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Yeah, I didn't even remember that there was a prologue... Oh well. Thanks Chaos. Um... Taking your last comment as a subtle hint and shutting up about Dragonsteel now.
Chaos he/him Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Actually, that wasn't a subtle hint. You can talk about Dragonsteel all you want, unless Peter says otherwise It's a personal choice for me, that's all.
Eerongal he/him Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 I'll just leave this right here..... Discuss, i suppose?
PeterAhlstrom he/him Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I do say otherwise. Brandon has said he doesn't want details of Dragonsteel discussed openly. I believe that goes for all unpublished books.
Chaos he/him Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I do say otherwise. Brandon has said he doesn't want details of Dragonsteel discussed openly. I believe that goes for all unpublished books. All right. I'll make sure to crack down on that.

I believe that goes for all unpublished books. I assume that only applies to people who have actually, ya know, read any of his unpublished works? I've never read any of his unpublished works, so i presume that he wouldn't prefer us to stay quiet about any thing that has been publicly said, and speculation, right (for example, the snippets he mentions about dragonsteel in that Q&A i just posted)?

Yeah, ever since my first transgression (back on TWG I said something very stupid) I've been very careful about what I say about Dragonsteel. I brought it up here because somebody asked a question about Frost in public, and Brandon answered it in public. Frost happens to be a character in Dragonsteel. All of my points except the last one came from The Way of Kings, or public information on the internet. I will admit that I didn't think, "Dragons do/do not appear in the narrative," was much of a spoiler, but if Peter says I'm wrong then I'll shut up and never mention the book again. Better safe than yelled at by Peter. Anyway, enough about that, lets move on to the answers we just got!
Zas678 he/him Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 The Skaze. For being mentioned once in the text, they sure seem important to how things work in Fjordell. I wonder why Hrathen never mentioned them. Is it because Wyrn knew he was going to betray him, so he kept him in the dark? Or maybe the gyorns never knew, Only Wyrn and the gradgets. Or maybe the Skaze just really like Dilaf.
Silus - Shard of Flame he/him Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I don't know if anyone else knows or cares, but all the Mistborn questions answered so far were written by yours truly! This makes me so happy! ;D EDIT: He answered all of my first batch of questions, which is AWESOMELY AMAZING.

Puck he/him Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 First impressions: - Brandon is getting a lot slyer about what he RAFOs (referring to the AD/BCE question). He's learned that you guys are good at taking a mile when he's given an inch - What happens when you burn a Hemalurgic spike?Burning a Hemalurgic spike would have the effect of splicing your spiritual DNA to that of the person
