Steel Compounder Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) Just wondering... Edited May 5, 2015 by stevenjensen28
Surgebound Rainspren he/him Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 In term of power Kelsier, however Elend didn't die so early
Cracknut he/him Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Kelsier is much better character imho. If we're talking power, it's still Kelsier. Better person one goes to Elend, but I believe it's arguable.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Elend has the raw power advantage, but Kelsier had better control and technique. 1
gjustice99 she/her Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) WHY DO YOU MAKE ME DECIDE BETWEEN MY FICTIONAL HUSBAND (Elend) AND MY FAVOURITE PSYCHOPATHIC FATHER FIGURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Minor Warbreaker Spoilers/Answer (but prob Elend, he is adorable, just saying, the only character that is more innocently adorable is Seb. seriously my love for Elend rivals Feather's for Renarin) Edited May 6, 2015 by gjustice99 3
Plaeggs he/him Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Kelsier is the OG badass, the rebel. He's just, simply put, more awesome than Elend. 2
kaellok he/him Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Please define "better." As it stands, I really have no idea which one is the better pachydermatologist. 3
Winds Alight she/her Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I liked Elend (his name confuses me. He's called "Elant" in the German books, because "Elend" is the German word for "misery".), but Kelsier is crazier, darker and more interesting.
Guest Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Please define "better." As it stands, I really have no idea which one is the better pachydermatologist. Definitely Elend, he's got all that book-learning
kaellok he/him Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Definitely Elend, he's got all that book-learning But it's mostly philosophical, not hands on. I could easily see Kelsier having a slight edge.
SmurfAquamarineBodies he/him Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Elend. He did forge an empire out of the mess Kelsier made.
natc Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Elend. He did forge an empire out of the mess Kelsier made. Kelsier was the guy who tore down the old nigh invincible empire so Elend could forge his.
Kobold King he/him Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Kelsier was the guy who tore down the old nigh invincible empire so Elend could forge his. And the Lord Ruler broke Kel and caused him to become the psychopathic rebel leader he would become. Just to play Devil's Ruin's advocate.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 (edited) Kelsier was the guy who tore down the old nigh invincible empire so Elend could forge his. That was mostly luck on his end, though. The only reason his plan worked is because Vin could draw on the mists and killed the Lort Ruler, which Kelsier had no idea was even possible. Otherwise his "plan" would just have ended in the Lord Ruler putting down another revolution and spilling lots of innocent blood. Edited May 15, 2015 by Edgedancer

Yeah but equally him failing would have been bad luck, bad luck that the eleventh metal did nothing useful and that they had no idea just how powerful TLR was.
Edgedancer he/him Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Yeah but equally him failing would have been bad luck, bad luck that the eleventh metal did nothing useful and that they had no idea just how powerful TLR was. Relying on some old legend and underestimating you thousand year old god-emperor that already conquered the entire world isn't exactly what I would call bad luck. I call that bad planning.
Kobold King he/him Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Relying on some old legend and underestimating you thousand year old god-emperor that already conquered the entire world isn't exactly what I would call bad luck. I call that bad planning. True, but without Kelsier's insanity no one would have been in a position to kill the Lord Ruler, good luck or no. Sometimes it takes a madman to accomplish things no sane, sensible, or intelligent man would try. Again, just playing Ruin's Advocate.

Sure, I suppose being a charasmatic killer that got stuffed into the fridge has it perks, it just doesn't make him the mastermind people like to portray him as.
Mosper.S Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 1. Kelsier is much better than Elend because he had more training in the past. 2. However if Elend had much more training from Vin, I believe Elend would be as strong as Kelsier. 3. Kelsier saved Elend... So overall Kelsier is the winner!!!
Kaymyth she/her Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 This poll is invalid, because the answer is clearly Wayne. Sure, Kelsier and Elend are Mistborn, but Wayne is the only person in the Cosmere capable of adding 2 and 2 and getting a pickle. Think about it. Instant pickles with the power of mathematics. 2
