WIKIIIIII!!!!

I'm mail-mi on the wiki (no one stole my username. :P). Can I be Admin'd?

Posted

What are the benefits of being Admin'd anyway?

Being able to move and delete pages, edit protected pages, and I'm pretty sure admins are able to ban other users. Not that I expect there'll be a lot of that on OUR wiki, thank you very much. :P

If you read the bit about Timeport's backstory that I just added, you'll see that yes, Timeport turned to Calamity over a misunderstanding.

How do you move a character to a category, say, like moving Brightdeath to an Epic?

I like that idea. Maybe because I spent some time there and I know a few of your characters. Can I request that the drunk Skaa rebellion guy whose name escapes me be one of the ones you write here? I loved that character. While we're on the topic, I don't know if you remember, but I had a WIP character there, Aspir Elariel, and I based Edgerunner's looks off of her. So I based a fictional character in a fanon RP off of a fictional character in a different fanon RP. :P

I definitely remember Aspir, haha.  Klyde was lots of fun, but I don't think I'd ever repurpose him.  I love him, but he's someone I seem to get sick of writing quickly, so I don't think I'd want to be writing him in two RP's.

Sorry if there is some awkward phrasing in these.  I copy and pasted things together from their other apps to save time.

DaerraElariel.png

Name: Daerra Eisler

Age:  25

Home City: Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Appearance:  Daerra has black, glossy hair, which hangs down to the middle of her back when loose, but is usually kept immaculately styled.  Her eyes are light grey, and wide in shape. She has a thin build.  Her features are very delicate, but she has a strong, commanding presence. Her face is usually a masque of calm and serenity, except when she is using her exceptional acting talents. Her clothes are always attractive, and perfectly suitable for her body type, whether she is at a party, or on a mission. She is always perfectly cleaned and groomed, her nails are always perfectly manicured.   Daerra does not usually wear make-up except at social outings, where she keeps her make-up use to a minimum, as she prefers to show her natural beauty. She is very concerned with her appearance, and thus runs and exercises regularly to keep herself in shape.  Her voice is mid-range for a female, and is soft and silky in tone.

Personality:  Daerra is a born leader, an ambitious perfectionist, and can usually predict how events unfold just by watching people. She would consider herself a people person, due to her ability to understand the motivations of others, rather than her ability to make friends. Daerra mistrusts everyone except for her brother Aaron, she has no real combat skills except for evasion, and she is almost incapable of forming genuine relationships. Sometimes her ambitions blinds her to impossibilities she just assumes she can over come. Daerra also has deep issues with her body image, due to constant criticisms from her father, and her feelings of inferiority towards her mother. She attempts to mold and shape her body to her designs the same way she tries to use and control her feelings. These insecurities, and attempts to control her body have lead Daerra to hold a negative body image, and suffer from mild anorexia, with occasional bulimic impulses when under periods of duress. Daerra is a bit of a sociopath, and although she can fake almost any emotion, genuine feelings often elude her. Her twin brother Aaron is the only one she truly cares for, and though she hates to admit it, she depends on him for more than just his thieving skills. She is incredibly determined, and sets out to get what she wants no matter what, refusing to let anyone, epic or vanilla, stand in her way.  Inwardly, Daerra is also incredibly insecure about herself, and is constantly trying to prove her worth. Daerra's most characteristic trait is how she can use even her unintentional, natural feelings as tools for her eventual gain.  Daerra is a talented actress, has good organizational skills, is an avid long-distance runner, and has a knack for bringing even epics under control with a well placed bribe or threat.  She is also a talented pianist.

Name: Aaron Eisler

Age:  25

Home City: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Appearance: Daerra usually ensures that Aaron keeps his dark hair cut short, giving him a serious and professional look, though if it were up to him, he would likely grow it out so it would hang into his eyes and show off a hint of curl.  His eyes, light grey, are a perfect match for his sister's, and he also shares some of her refined features, giving him a delicate look for a male.  He is lean, light, but well muscled. He has a charismatic smile, and tendency to wink. He laughs easily, and seems very care free. His appearance however is always exactly as he wants it to be, even if it doesn't look like it. He often prefers a polished, but rough-around-the-edges look.

Personality: For the most part, Aaron is indifferent to the rest of the world, looking out only for himself and for his sister.  He is good at putting people at ease, and is very easy to get along with.  He enjoys the company of others, and makes friends easily, but often fails to give these fledgling friendships the attention they need to turn into fully formed long-term relationships.  He is sometimes uncaring, or flippant, but is always extremely charismatic.  He has difficulty taking thing seriously, and will usually only react to the mistreatment of others if confronted with it directly.  When not focused on a particular task, Aaron is often easily distracted and is known to act irresponsibly.  He is also a thrill seeker, and enjoys getting himself into binds he can barely escape from.  He is his sister's creature through and through, though at times he does question the lengths she is willing to go to in order to fulfill her goals.  He has acquired the standard skill set of an accomplished thief, along with a talent for acrobatics, sleights-of-hand, and flirtation.  Though he is an airhead, it would be unwise to underestimate him, especially when he is taking instructions from his sister.

History (For Both):  Aaron and Daerra had a privileged upbringing.  Both their parents came from wealthy families, and their paternal grandfather was one of the wealthiest men in Quebec.  Their father, Andrew, was a prominent Canadian politician, and their mother was an American actress who starred in many critically acclaimed comedies and dramas before getting married and retiring.  Of the twins, Daerra was born first, Aaron coming soon after.  While their parents were both thrilled at the new additions to their families, Andrew's political career, and Janelle's busy social life quickly took precedence, and care of Daerra and Aaron was left to tutors and nannies.  Andrew pushed both of his children to excel in all areas of life, and was especially hard on Aaron, as he wanted him to one day follow in his footsteps.  It was Daerra, however, who inherited both Andrew's intellect, and his knack for manipulation, but Andrew refused to see his daughter's successes, no matter how hard she tried to prove herself.  Aaron only ever received average grades in school, and showed absolutely no interest in following in his father's footsteps.  A talented athlete, Aaron excelled on almost every sports-field, and often dreamed of becoming an Olympian.  Janelle lost all interest in her children until they entered their teens, and then she tended to treat them as her younger friends, rather than her children.

Because of their parents' indifference, Daerra and Aaron were inseparable, quickly becoming each other's sole support figure against the rest of the world.  They were in their mid-teens when Calamity appeared.  A year later, both their father Andrew, and his brother, their uncle, developed incredible powers.   The twins were on a trip to Europe when their father's rending occurred, and returned to find their home in chaos.   The two brothers engaged in a frightful battle that tore the family apart, leaving almost the entire Eisler clan dead.  Daerra and Aaron were the sole survivors.  Daerra saved both their lives by figuring out her father's weakness, and then using it against him after she had helped him to defeat his brother.  Thinking quickly, Daerra managed to secure a large portion of the family's assets, and then she and her brother fled the city.  The two grew into adult hood travelling the continent, searching for safety in a world being torn apart by Epics.  Before both countries devolved into total chaos, Daerra managed to acquire a variety of powerful contacts on her travels.  Together with Aaron, she set up a small, elite, theiving operation, supporting herself and her brother by taking high-end theft work from powerful clients, stealing for and from both humans and epics alike.  As time progressed, the two also began doing some bounty hunting and espionage on the side, specializing in tracking down epic weaknesses and selling them for exorbitant prices on the black market.  Through one of her contacts, Daerra made some friends at the Knighthawk foundry, giving her and her brother access to some of the epic-based technology developed there.  In particular, Aaron is equipped with special magnetic gloves, that allow him to pull himself towards nearby sources of metal.  Using this tech, he is able to lurch through cities, grappling from one source of metal to the next, kind of like spider-man.  This comes in handy on thieving missions, as he can use the tech to avoid many security systems, and give himself an edge against human guards and weaker epics [LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS A PROBLEM AND I CAN TAKE IT OUT.  IT BASICALLY WORKS LIKE LURCHING, LOL].

Now, the two have made their way to Oregon, on an important mission...

Blackhoof, I was wondering how you would feel if Daerra and Aaron's current target could be Iconoclast?  I figured an epic like him would make a lot of enemies, some who might have the resources to hire Daerra and Aaron.  If anyone else has an idea for what their mission could be, let me know.  Also let me know what you think!

It's like the horrifying remix of the "When You Wish Upon a Star" from Pinocchio

When you wish upon a star

Its red light strikes where you are

A psychopath is what you'll be

Timeport says "That's fine with me!"

Blaze (and the rest of you), I also had a thought about how Blossom's powers work.  I'm not quite sure about the mechanics, but could Rainmaker extend the range of Blossom's ice breath by manipulating the wind?

Woo, thanks everyone for helping out on the wiki, I think I got to everyones account and admin'd them but let me know if I missed you. Thanks heaps to Kobold who just did about 7 billion edits and additions :D

Seems plausible, though it would weaken the effect.

that's fine :) I would be honoured! Iconoclast has been all around the Fractured States in the years since he manifested powers. He has left Epic rulers alive when they are High Epics and he cannot get around or figure out their weaknesses, sating himself with destroying their kingdoms and allies. Its entirely feasible one High Epic, enraged that his/her fiefdom has been overrun with Ghouls, would contact these kids to hunt down the one who did it.

I like the idea, first time i've seen epic-derived tech in the RP.

Really? I just thought it was funny that I decided to base a character off another one.

Not Klyde. The one who vomited in an alley when he met with Wilor and Delve. I think he's a Rioter and he has a friend who's a Smoker, she's really nice. Sorry I cannot remember the names for the life of me. :P

The Elariel twins!! Those were some of my favorites over on MBI. I'm excited to see them again. I remember their actor profiles too, I think. Wasn't Aaron supposed to look like Joseph Gordon-Levitt?

That's why JGL is his icon, haha.  I just used their avatars.  Out of my characters, the twins are (obviously) two of my favourites as well, so I'm hoping they will fit in here too.  I think it might be cool to explore the thieving and espionage side of their story, since that plot-line kind of got side-lined by all the inheritance shenanigans in MBI.

The rioter's name would be Valerre, and his friend is Daphne.  They are another two of my favorites, but it's more difficult for me to transplant them, since their situations are very Final Empire specific.  Maybe some day though...

the rioter could be an emotional manipulation epic? But i guess the corruption would warp his character pretty severely.

what were you thinking in terms of their mission against Iconoclast?

I want to like this but there are a couple of points that made me double take and then I started becoming really nitpicky. I'm just going to list everything but I'm aware that some of those points are minor.

Daerra is a born leader, an ambitious perfectionist,

refusing to let anyone, epic or vanilla, stand in her way.

and has a knack for bringing even epics under control with a well placed bribe or threat.

Grouping this together because it boils down to the same argument. How is she not dead? It's not like Epics would just let a normal person act as if they are anywhere their equal, even less if they get funny ideas and use threaths, and no kind of contacts are going to help for the simple reason that any form of important contacts would also be Epics, so we are back to the same problem. Bribes also don't work as they are rather worthless with a group of people that can just kill her and take her money if they fell like it, withouth any ill effect whatsoever.

Daerra saved both their lives by figuring out her father's weakness

Again how? And this is a more complex question that it looks like. This is still before the capitulation act, so if anything the fact that all Epics have a weakness wasn't common knowledge yet, there clearly wasn't enough known about them to work with any data. Plus, if he was still a relatively new Epic, he probably didn't know his weakness himself. Meaning she couldn't have noticed it from his behaviour. Using any kind of deductive reasoning here seems effectively impossible. The best she could have hoped for is accidentially stumbling across it and kill him right then and there, otherwise he would have killed her for knowing to much.

Thinking quickly, Daerra managed to secure a large portion of the family's assets, and then she and her brother fled the city.

Two problems here. 1)They were fairly imporant people from what you described, so there's no way the police, which would still exsist at this point, would just have let them go without investigation and large amounts of money from a person they just killed. Given that the law apparently didn't adapt to Epics yet they might actually have gotten a murder charge with realistic chances of being convicted for this entire mess. Founds would certainly have been frozen for the time being.

2) Those assets would have been useless shortly afterwards, when the capitulation act hit and any form monetary system collapsed.

she set up a small, elite, theiving operation, supporting herself and her brother by taking high-end theft work from powerful clients, stealing for and from both humans and epics alike.

Again a bit of repetition but the only possible cliente for them would have been rather powerful Epics and those wouldn't want Vanillas to get any illusions of power and probably kill them.

specializing in tracking down epic weaknesses and selling them for exorbitant prices on the black market.

We know about eactly one organization that really researches weaknesses are the lorist and those are so heavy in hiding they don't even openly work with the Reckoners, so that doesn't bode well for this buisness practice.

special magnetic gloves

I assume those are more bulky than just gloves, otherwise they wouldn't even fit the motivator.

Epics also seem to frown about Motivator tec, looking at Regalia talking about them being made from their corpses and Steelheart one of the guys that could really afford it not equiping his forces with Epic tec, this again makes their only logical cliente more likely to kill them.

I'm not sure on that. I know I myself have pinpointed him as prime target for the Reckkoners, but it seems unlikely for Epics that, given Iconoclasts MO, probably just lost their domain and have taken extreme hits to their founding, assuming they still have any, to hire vanilas to find out anythig about him, if the only thing they know about his is that he can turn vanillas into his minions. Someone more public seems like he would make more sense.

Blaze (and the rest of you), I also had a thought about how Blossom's powers work.  I'm not quite sure about the mechanics, but could Rainmaker extend the range of Blossom's ice breath by manipulating the wind?

Yes it would work, but like Voidus mentioned the temperature would slowly revert back to non-icy conditions thanks to convection. Blossom's breath has a max range of 20 ft because that's the farthest she can keep it at cold enough temperatures to be damaging. Beyond the 20 ft the temp of her breath would feel like the wind on a cold winter day. Rainmaker's wind would effect the distance which the breath could be damaging, as well as the shape of the cone.

So quick question now that the Wiki is getting more and more links and pages, is 'Thought Town' one word or two? I think I've used both in the RP at different points but we should probably get an official spelling for the wiki.

The official spelling is "Thoughttown."

By the way, can you tell us Neverthere's real name? For science the wiki?

And remember: no matter how embarrassed she is by it, her real name can't possibly be worse than "Roosevelt Barthes." Unless it's "Polly Esther Slack" or something.

Gotcha, I'll try to go through and make sure they're all that spelling then.

She's actually got very little backstory written, I have Epics I haven't even mentioned in the RP with more than her so she doesn't have a name yet.

Cassandra Morgan?

Cassandra Morgan?

Meaning there's still room for an Epic whose real name is Victor or Victoria McPhail.

Couldn't have written that Bio better myself Kobold, great job.
For reference she does have a limit on how far she can project but it's pretty big, I think I figured that if she positioned herself well she could project into any of the current RPs.

Thanks. :)

By the way, did you want to have Backtrack and MV talk at all while trying to track Impact?
