Wonko the Sane he/him Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 "Seixa? Um... what are you doing?" 1
Haelbarde he/him Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Earlier that day Rab woke with a start. I'm... not dead? He checked his watch. 2 pm. He must have dozed off. "That was the weirdest dream... What with Lawmen and scoundrels and all. Seems I'm all still here though." This was mostly to no one. Seemed there wasn't anyone else around. He checked his pockets. Yup, still had his Lawman badge, and he still had his masking tape doctors badge on the front of his coat. Really need to get a fancier badge at some point. Then he remember Piffington's promise of a stethoscope. Maybe I'll go find him, see if actually he is going to give me a stethoscope, poisoned or otherwise, or if I was just imagining things. Wonko the Sane he/him Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) "And I the same, some few nights back," mused Nowko. "What does it mean? Were they not dreams after all? I think this warrants some investigation. By a show of hands, how many here have had such a dream?" He raised his hand as he spoke. Edited April 21, 2015 by Wonko the Sane
phattemer Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Seixa, having returned from his autograph-collecting mission, raises his hand.
Lord Pifferdoo he/him Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Doc Piffington raised his free hand while juggling a poison vial in the other.
Clanky he/him Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 "raises hand" I am still having that dream every night but for some reason I don't think it will be going on for much longer. People are dying at an outstanding rate! We need to study this strange phenomenon of shared dreams! Any ideas on where to start?
Clanky he/him Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 "Raise your hand if your still alive in the dream." said Doctor McNinja hand in the air
Haelbarde he/him Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 "Now that is an interesting feat - managing to lower a raised hand while it is was not raised."
Wonko the Sane he/him Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 I've added an 'About the Guild' section to the original post. I thought it was about time we began to decide the general shape of our guild, and how it interacts with the other guilds. I see us as serving, for a fee, as intellectual advisors and emergency medical aid. I've also taken to referring to us as 'The Abundance', for lack of a more permanent name. I feel it has a certain ring to it, that 'Doctors' Guild' simply lacks. Doc Piffington, I would like to request that the following be made available to our medical practitioners: Simple Regrowth fabrials. Unlocked goldminds, bendalloyminds, bronzeminds, cadmiumminds, and brassminds. Shardscalpels (for precision spiritual work). Assorted needle-sized hemalurgic spikes.* More standard medical fare (bandages and stethoscopes and things). *Medical supply spikes are for EMERGENCY MEDICAL USE ONLY. If you require a spike for personal or recreational use, I'm sure the Doc will be happy to procure one for you.
phattemer Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Piff, also please note that those of us without perfect memories, i.e. everyone but Seixa, need copperminds as well. What if Seixa has an emergency that requires 4 charged pewter spikes, 4 charged steel spikes, 4 charged brass spikes, 4 charged bronze spikes, 4 charged aluminum spikes, 4 charged duralumin spikes, 4 charged gold spikes, and 4 charged electrum spikes?
Lord Pifferdoo he/him Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I'm going to need a lot more copper then. And some gold, and some cadmiun and bendalloy, and a Shardblade, and a bottle of scotch. You know, for anesthetics.
phattemer Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) Perhaps also a few pre-bonded spren? Ten, say? And a few million breaths. And the Shaod. And a few dozen Aviar. And a Shadowblaze. And some soulstone. And some silver. And a few dozen aspects. So basically, I just need the materials to make myself a Fullborn Fullriant God King Elantrian Trapper Rithmatist Forger Legion. I shall abbreviate it as a Fullking Elantraptist Forgion. Oh yeah, and here is something I just thought of: Now I am become Unmade, the destroyer of worlds. Edited May 14, 2015 by phattemer 2
Guest Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Greetings esteemed doctors. Piff, Wonko, phattemer, how are you all? I respectfully request admission to this, one of the most fascinating (and ultimately helpful) guilds. I am a doctor (both medical and otherwise) specializing in research, bamboo-related research, and the effects of Hemalurgy upon the body. I have many years of experience in all of those, as Winter can attest. Thank you for yoir consideration.
phattemer Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Welcome, esteemed colleague. If you haven't seen the rules and tips yet, some of them are on the original post, and the unofficially sanctioned ones are scattered among the middle pages. Axies is extremely glad you are here, because he needs to inquire about some of the more unorthodox uses for bamboo. Does it really grow fast enough for the nonaforementioned purpose?
Guest Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 There is a distinct possibility that it does indeed grow fast enough for your purposes. In fact, I do have a certain breed of bamboo (called Minty Fresh) that should grow fast enough to suit any needs you may have in that area.
Wonko the Sane he/him Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 Phatt, Piff's only one man; give him a break! 'Pre-bonded spren'? What does that even mean? Dr. Kipper, a warm welcome. I'm sure a hemalurgy expert will prove useful; many of us are floundering in the dark, and would be totally unable to realistically perform a Spiritual surgery. Would you be willing to take some time to teach me the basics of the Spiritweb?
Guest Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 But of course. I would like nothing better (except maybe a chocolate-spikedchip cookie)! Anything in particular you want to know?
Wonko the Sane he/him Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) I'm interested in precision Spiritual work. I believe that, with the proper training, someone could use small, precision spikes and a Shardscalpel to perform a sort of Spiritual surgery. Healing spike victims and Shardblade wounds; things like that. If I get really good, maybe I could begin working with peoples' Spiritwebs in a progressive fashion, creating new sections of Spiritweb and implanting them in patients. I hope to be the cosmere's first Realmatic surgeon. What I wouldn't give to be an Elantrian. That would make my research a whole lot easier and safer. Anyway, I'd love to learn anything you can teach me about the nature and structure of the Spiritweb. I know a little, and I'm familiar with elementary Realmatics, but everything I have is cobbled together. I could use a more complete education. So, anything you can think of about hemalurgy really; bind points, effects, and the like. Edited May 14, 2015 by Wonko the Sane
Guest Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Wonko, Hemalurgy is possibly one of the most underdeveloped sciences in the Cosmere. I'm actually doing some reading on it myself right now, and will get back to you when done.
Wonko the Sane he/him Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 I understand, doctor. Take whatever time you need. Winter, I'd prefer to play this by the book with my character, as well as lower key. Give Cloud' any powers you'd like, but Nowko is only going to have abilities he might have if Brandon were writing him (with perhaps a little bending).
phattemer Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 What?! A doctor not wanting more power?! This is an outrage!
Wonko the Sane he/him Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) I'm not rejecting power, I'm requesting that, in my case, the acquisition of power occur through realistic methods, that might reasonably happen in one of Brandon's actual novels. I want the limitations so that I can build a decent character, not just a decent fighter. You don't need magic powers to be interesting. I've got a Forger in LG12. Fingers crossed that he becomes an Elantrian, but either way, he's going to sign on as Nowko's lab assistant if he survives. That should solve the issue; even without the freedom of Aonic research techniques, his realmatic expertise will be invaluable. Edited May 22, 2015 by Wonko the Sane
