Yeaaaahhh…..

Okay, so it was one movie they were right about. They were still wrong about Brother Bear.

Knowing them...

"The humor and storyline are spot on, but this vaguely Mesoamerican influence in the background aesthetic of this one scene would inspire our kids to be demon-worshipers. Shame, this could have been a great movie if it didn't make concessions to Satan."

I don't think they had to use that argument to ban it.

Hm, didn't we already discuss it somewhere?

What's wrong with it?

(Keep in mind I've never seen it, only heard of it.)

Road to El Dorado is awesome, and objectionable content went totally over my head when I watched it as a kid......there's basically some suggestive romance, I think would be one way of putting it.

And at one point a character swears "holy ship!"

I decided to give NPR a try this morning.

What's this? What's this?

Newscasters speaking stories, instead of talking heads!

No one here is screaming, the news is being read!

There's calm in all the voices, professionalism reigns,

Listeners are treated as though they have working brains!

How did I live without this for so long?

You're welcome :)

I've been looking forward to this day for a long time: I'm headed down to the store to pick up my new 27" iMac. :-D We've been plugging along with a 2007 model, which is getting slower and slower despite my best efforts (and I'm very good with computers). I've rarely been able to have new anything, so this is a big thrill.

My professor for the Early Modern English class I'm taking right now told us that she's going to let us just write sonnets for our final exam instead of having to write sonnets and analyze a passage from the Bible. :D

My first week of living alone has been a learning experience.

Tonight, I learned I make a really good ham and corn chowder.

Some advice?

Oyster quesadillas are a terrible idea.

Do not ask how I know this and I'll tell you no lies.

Lucky me, I despise oysters and am not likely to have them around, so they're not going to become quesadilla filling anytime soon.

Thank Harmony.

I actually do like oysters.  But they do not mix with quesadillas at all.

I don't imagine most seafood would mix with quesadillas.

I have learned, though, that ham, steak, and gochujang-marninated pork chops do.

Alas, I find that my stomach doesn't mix with quesadillas anymore.  Stupid lactose intolerance.

Shrimp mixes surprisingly well with quesadillas, especially if given fajita seasoning.

Fish would probably be questionable - though it is good in tacos - especially with a fresh salsa.

I had a lobster quesadilla once - it was not worth the money I spent on it...

Other seafood? Forget about it :P
