I mentioned in the Bad Day thread a few months ago that I got rear-ended. I think I also mentioned that I'd had issues with contacting the other driver's insurance company.

Long story short, his insurance was through his work, and the contact information on the insurance card was for the agency that sold his company the policy, but to file claims with this corporate policy, it had to be with the company itself rather than the agency. A very nice agent at this agency took care of that for me, but the company's agent who took over has been abysmal. She's been sending letters since the middle of November telling me that she's contacted me (she hasn't) and telling me to contact her (she never answers nor returns my calls) and then threatening to close the claim because she hasn't been able to contact me (even though she's never tried). She finally gave me the information to talk to a different claims agent to talk to them if she didn't answer (which, of course, she didn't). By the time I talked to this other agent, it was just before Christmas and I couldn't take my car in to get an estimate (since I work full-time and get off as the car repair shop is closing). So I waited until after the holidays were over, and apparently this agent is really impatient because she called me at the beginning of the month to tell me that if they didn't get the estimate, they were closing the claim. But hey--at least she called me this time and left a message, so improvement!

The repairs estimate on my car is $1400. And because the repair shop is very good, they were booked until February 19th. My car's totally driveable though, so I wasn't worried about the wait. Well, they just called to tell me that someone cancelled so they can get my car in tomorrow. And since I got rear-ended, this insurance company has to pay for my car rental. :) And I fully plan on using this opportunity of driving a rental car to see what car I'd like to purchase when I finally upgrade from what I currently have. So they get to pay for my experimentation. And they get to pay significantly more than what I'd estimated the repairs to be (it's a minor dent on the corner of the bumper and I'd told them $400, forgetting to factor in paint, supplies, and labor. Oops).

So my car is finally getting fixed, sooner than I'd thought. And I never have to deal with this insurance company and this agent again. Yay. :)

I'm not sure whether this is cause for a party, or just shouting out, "Someone get this woman a drink!"

I think this is the first act of a romantic comedy and little wilson and the insurance agent will fall for each other. Hijinks will insure, followed by a minor misunderstanding and the stopping of a person getting on a plane.

It'll be the feel good movie of the year!

Is this where I appear and it all turns horrifying?

Get her one of those bunny drinks though. She needs one.

Great. You've done it. I don't know what a bunny drink is and I don't know how they are made.

Well, I googled it, and this was the first result:

He's talking about a Bunny Foo Foo.  The drink recipe is on the Church of Wayne thread.

Just looked it up. I want one now.

They're delicious.  The trick is finding a chocolate bunny that doesn't leak.

Also delicious:  adding a dash of Bailey's Irish Creme to hot chocolate.

We had a foundation company come out and look at the old house today.  Handed 'em a copy of the engineer's report and said, "How much to do all this?"

Their bid came back $5k less than we were expecting!

Seriously, we were gonna do the 3 bids thing, but we know this company is really reputable and reliable, and that's a big chunk of money less than the engineer told us to expect.

Bruce is back from the vet and doing fine. ^_^ He was pretty docile…for maybe two minutes. On the way out to the car, he almost squirmed out of my arms trying to claw off the plastic cone they gave him, so I took it off. He's curled up and dozing off next to me now.

I hope he won't lick the cut they made for surgery too much without the cone. One of my cats did and had a minor infection and had to be given antibiotics. Tell Bruce that licking himself down there is a no-no :P (I think you did good by removing the cone, it caused him a lot of stress and that could siriously weaken his immunity system.)

I've caught him trying a few times, but it doesn't look like any damage has been done. And he does seem…well, calmer with him is a relative term, since his default state is anywhere between "cuddle with Twi" and "run around Twi's room like a crazy dog." :P I was kind of surprised with how quickly he seemed to bounce back from the anesthesia, though. Once I got him home, he was already trying to jump up on furniture.

Getting fixed is generally a lot easier on boy dogs than girl dogs.  The surgery's not nearly as invasive, so he's probably feeling just fine.

He doesn't seem to notice he had a rather life-altering surgery less than 24 hours ago.

Well, Kaymyth, I don't know if this is what you meant when you suggested sticky notes, but I took your advice.

No, it's not supposed to be tilted like that, but if you tilt your head to the side, you'll see what I'm seeing: a roll of wrapping paper pinned to the wall, with four different colors of sticky notes arranged in neat rows from the top down. Blue is for character info; orange is plot points; green is worldbuilding tidbits; and pink is for interludes that tell stories beyond Spokane.

It's actually helping me figure out the plot of the story, which is something I didn't have before.

Watching the Panthers games is always fun cause they almost always give their TD balls to a kid in stands and it makes their day. They do it the most out of any nfl team I think. That always brings me a smile. I'm getting so soft in my mid 30's I swear.

Bwahaha!  You learn well, my young Padawan.  Soon a Jedi will you be.

Got my results today. It's 8.0 (GPA) (out of 10). Aah!! It's much better than what I'd expected (7.1).
