TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) Simon Waldenberger. It's so nice of corporate America to educate football fans on common people who were born in 1759. Edit: And it just occurred to me that SW means Star Wars. Yeesh I'm slow. Guest Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 It is Election Day in Canada... The impossible has happened. I'm proud of Quebec Canada now has a new Prime Minister.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 It is Election Day in Canada... The impossible has happened. I'm proud of Quebec Canada now has a new Prime Minister. Congratulations! Though I don't know why I'm being so cynical about Canadian politics, US politics pretty much embodies the following song: This moment of rock music commentary on politics is brought to you by Charleston Chew! 1
Mistrunner Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Congratulations! I think this is the song that inspired the Feegle's cry: Nae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master! We wilna be fooled agin! 4
The Honor Spren she/her Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) This is super late, but if anyone is still wondering about Alaxel/Frosted Flakes, some of that stuff went down on the Fantasy Pet Peeve thread. Edited October 21, 2015 by The Honor Spren
Hood he/him Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Holidays for a week. And the best thing is, I don't have much work to do. So YES !! all my time and energies will be devoted to the singular pursuit of devouring books.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Indianola, IA wants to interview me! 8
Kaymyth she/her Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Indianola, IA wants to interview me! Nice! Just south of Des Moines, which is about as much city as you can get in Iowa. Definitely in the land of corn and cows.
Guest Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Our new Prime Minister is turning into a Rock Star He has a tattoo. He boxes shirtless. He's handsome. He has hair He likes to fall into the stairs for fun He shakes hands to by passers in Montreal's metro. Who ever said Canada was boring?

Briar King Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 There's been planes and jets buzzing within 2-3 miles of my house all day. An air show is coming this weekend and they are practicing I guess. Freaked me out earlier.

Australia's ex PM went swimming shirtless but no one wanted to see that. 1
Dark_Eyes_12 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Congrats, Sarcasm! I got braces about a year ago, and I HAAATTTTEEE them.
Patar he/him Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Tidbit of info about me: Math is the bane of my existence. I've always struggled in it, and having to take an advanced level math course in my first semester in college, I was panicked. The date of my first test was approaching, and I was studying like crazy. The date of the test comes around... and I forgot to set my alarm. I wake up with 15 minutes to get to class, and I decided that I couldn't afford to take the thirty seconds to change out of my pajamas. So I run to my class, get there just in time, and take the test, in my pajamas. I got a 96 on the test. I was stunned. I eagerly called my mom, and told her the good news. A few weeks later, my math midterm was coming, and the day before, I was incredibly unprepared. I went to bed furious at myself for not preparing better. I thought that maybe if the planets were perfectly aligned, I might be able to get a C. I woke up, and decided that I was to upset to get out of my pajamas, and walked to my midterm. I got a 94. Now I don't want to come across as "that guy" who says he's going to fail a test and does well on it, sorry if I'm giving off that impression. But I really was surprised. Now, of course, I have to wear my pajamas to every math exam I have, because I've gotten an A on every exam I've taken in my pajamas. The two have to be correlated. Anyways, just wanted to share that, I'm really excited about it 6
azninvasion99 he/him Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Been working the graveyard shift for 18 months, and got a new position that gets me on a normal daytime schedule! I won't be able to surf the Shard at work which is slightly depressing but I think this will be a more healthy change for me. 6
Claincy he/him Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I have now graduated (Bachelor of Computer Science) It's actually more of a "yay the ceremony is in the past" than "yay that was good" but eh It was alright but now that it's past my social anxiety can shut up about it. Once you've had *someone hand you a piece of paper in front of a large crowd of people who immediately forget you* a few times the novelty wears off a bit. Also, Pax this weekend =D 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Well, the noises I heard were both coming from a cracked muffler. There's a pipe that's supposed to be welded to the muffler assembly, and it came loose, causing both the clunk and the loud humming on acceleration. The mechanic referred me to a place in town that can weld it back together for about $50. Since I was expecting to pay upwards of $2,000 for a big scary repair like rear axels or suspension rods, this is very good news. 6

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 They didn't have anything open today or tomorrow, but I got an appointment for Monday after work. And the mechanic said its not a safety issue, but I'll drive it a little more gently and try not to use it more than I have to until then. 1

That's a good plan, it is pretty much just noise but it's a little unsettling...car driving is stressful enough! 1

I'm just glad I won't be driving a death machine all weekend! In unrelated news, I think the semi-grunge style works for me. Maybe I just like it because it's different from the sophisticated hippie style I was manipulated into adopting (and liking) but I think I'm going to continue with the grunge thing.
