Both for the RP and the reveal.  I trust that you didn't actually kill him?

Posted (edited)

As it is common for Eliminators to vote for each other when they aren't in danger of being lynched I highly suspect that at least one of them voted for Vine during the last cycle. Mailliw73, Dowanx, JasonPenguin, leiftinspace. One of them is almost certain to be on Team Rayse. I ask any Bloodsealers to place at least one of your skeletons on one of them.

That's super funny. I realize that anything that i say by way of denial will only make me look even more suspicious at this point, but I will say this much. Feel free to put all the skeletals on me you want. I'll not be killing anyone tonight. :)

about the RP, I would give it more likes if i could. Just sayin. :)

And from the sounds of it, no, Maillw is merely Ruined, that is, his powers to kill have been roleblocked. Edited by little wilson

I understood that, but then they RPed shooting him, so I wasn't sure if that was just for show, or it actually happened.

It was for show. He is role-blocked. On that note, please don't try to lynch him, guys. We have some long analysis ahead of us to find the OCs, and we don't want it messed up by Odium getting moved. If anyone has questions that don't require specific names, feel free to ask.

Also, did anyone notice that vine hinted at my identity when he said, "...Hoid, you dog.."? I didn't notice until an unnamed person told me. Pretty clever, vine.

It was a good show, so I approve.

I didn't notice that either, good job vineyardawg.

Day 4: The Darkest Dawn

Vineyerian ran. He ran and he ran. The others were still chasing after, but they would never be able to catch him. The fools, believing him over Martin? Only a Thug or Radiant could catch him, and they’d already killed Mek. He darted around a corner, then scrambled up the wall onto the roof and flattened himself.

The few that had managed to stay with him ran around the corner, and their sounds of frustration were like Music to his ears. The cretins, tricked by a simple wall. He waited, as their sounds dispersed, spreading out and searching for him. Eventually, an hour after the sun set, the last sounds disappeared. Patience was one of the deadliest Weapons.

He climbed down from the roof, and headed off into the woods, walking away, not going in any specific direction, though he could feel himself being Followed.

He reached a clearing, and stopped, then sat down, cross legged and waiting.

Less than ten minutes passed before a Black Mist started to form, surrounding the clearing. A figure, glowing Black and dripping Mist appeared. “You know I was coming for you. How?”

Vineyerian Dagar smiled. “We knew you would come Aonar Izenry. We brought you here to kill you.”

Aonar smirked, confident in his power. “You can’t kill me little Champion. I am a shard, and what more, I am protected by my brethren.”

“So you think you’ll live through the night?”

“I will live forever, far longer than your lord.”

“Then how come I said your name earlier.”

Aonar, Shardholder of Ruin, froze. The champion had said his name, and If your name was stated outright, that meant only death. He snarled at Dagar. “How? Odium cannot strike me down, and none of you can either.” He felt himself began to sweat. Dagar only smiled. Then pulled a glass vial out of his pocket.

“Poison can still kill a shardholder.”

Aonar’s breath was starting to come in gasps now. “Ah, but I am protected, Poison alone cannot-”

The sword pierced him through his lower abdomen, sticking out a good foot.  “That’s why I’m here.” The voice sounded from behind him. Aonar immediately focused the Stormlight around the wound, healing it as fast as he could, but he couldn’t get both the Poison and the Wound.

“Rust. Rust and Ruin! damnation you Dagar!” The Champion started cackling madly at that, throwing his head back.

Ruin’s power took him in the chest, burning a great hole in him and throwing him back a good ten feet. Aonar tried to turn to face his other opponent, but the poison was already working. His reactions were growing Sluggish, he could barely turn, or even stay up. He felt himself fall. His power began to leak away.

And thus Ruin, once called Ati, once called Aonar, passed into the Cognitive Realm.

_________________________________________________________________

Endowment felt the raw power forming, and gasped. A Shard had died, from the feel of it, it was Ruin. How had they killed Him? He was supposed to be locked down. Either way, he had a job to do. He left Nalthis, entering the Cognitive realm, and traveling the short distance to Roshar, where Aonar had been hunting Dagar. He followed the pulses of Power, eventually landing in a clearing in a forest in Shinovar.

Aonar lay dead on the ground, his body leaking Smoke. Dagar’s corpse was also present, on the other side of the clearing. Endowment walked over to his brother’s body, and reached his arm into the smoke, absorbing the Shard of Ruin. He would have to give it away before it began to change his intent, but he could make use of it first.

Endowment frowned as more raw power began to form. And this one was his own Power. Power he had given to the Returned. The flow of Power increased rapidly. He gasped as he realized the implication. Thousands of people losing their innate breaths? Every Returned dying at once. He turned and entered the Cognitive realm again, traveling Quickly towards Nalthis.

When he got to where Nalthis had been, he sent his power out, searching. Only Preservation and Ruin’s power was here, with Traces of Odium melting away. Scadrial? It couldn’t be, gone. Could it? The Unmade, eaters of Worlds. Nalthis had been destroyed completely.

Aonar was Ruin!

Vineyarddawg was a Poisoner!

Nalthis has been destroyed!

Day 4 has begun and will end at 10pm PST on Friday the 13th.

Due to the possibilities of multiple roleblockers, the following Clarifications are being Made:

Q: What happens if one blocks the other who’s blocking someone else?

A: In this case, the untargeted one blocks the other blocker, so that blocker's target still gets to take an Action.

Q: What happens if one of them blocks Hoid who has multiple Actions?

A: I Flip a Coin. Or use a three sided die to decide.

Q: What happens if One of them blocks a person with extra lives? Does the Block cancel it?

A: No, the blocker would only target actions originating with their target, so Extra lives from outside sources wouldn’t do anything.

Q: What about Preservation? Does his extra life get blocked since it’s originating with him?

A: No, Extra lives won’t be targeted at all.

The recent turn of events has been, uh, quite intense. I kinda figured you were either a Shard or Hoid from the information you were leaking, Snoopy (and also Winter). From what I can make of the write-up it looks like Aonar was both poisoned AND stabbed by the Investee. And... Malliw's Odium? Well, that was pretty fast.

Posted (edited)

Well, that was unexpected. I quite honestly did not see it coming. Let me explain why.

I (speaking for the Shards and myself; they're not going to be revealed right now) was under a misconception regarding the OCs kill ability. We assumed that they could just not attack a Shard, period. It turns out that if a Shard has an extra life, the OCs can strip away that extra life with their normal attack. So basically, what happened was this:

1. Aonar was poisoned.

2. Honor Lashed Aonar. (We thought this would counteract any poison, if it existed.)

3. The OCs attacked Aonar.

4. The Lashing was stripped away.

5. The poison killed Aonar.

Now, Ruin has been taken out. The Shards no longer have a direct kill ability. In fact, we may have Hoid Shatter Ruin to completely avoid giving an OC a role-blocking ability. My point in saying this is to let you know that because of this, the ONLY WAY we can take out OCs is through well thought out lynches. Also, the only way that Shards can be killed (assuming that I survive and continue role-blocking Mailliw) is if we lynch a poisoner who happened to have poisoned a Shard. (If anyone can think of a different way a Shard can be killed, please speak up so we can guard against that eventuality)

TL;DR

Analyze, analyze, analyze. We must lynch OCs.

Also, in re to vineyard's last post, lynching Cultivation, even if you knew who she was, would be utterly pointless, for one thing. I can open the same PMs as Cultivation. (And have been for a while)

In addition, we would simply use Devotion's power to save her. Vineyard, who we know to be an OC, was just trying to stir up feelings of anger against the people with roles and incite you to kill the ones who are trying to help. Before lynching a Shard, ask yourself, "Do I want to win, or do I want to have the fleeting satisfaction of sending a message to the Shards?" On top of all that, lynching a Shard would completely waste one Day and give the OCs one more kill. Hopefully, I've shown that vine was just being a deceptive OC with his final breath.

Aside from Mailliw, we have absolutely no clue as to the identity of OCs. Please help.

Bort

Sincerely,

-=-Snoopy.

Alright.  I agree with Snoopy about Malliw, but also I am also suspicious of Araris Valerian. (Possibly Temporary Poke Vote)  Last day he lied, saying that he was a "vanilla player", which he is not.  I would guess that he is an Awakener or Poisoner.

Posted

Welp, we lost a shard =.=

We can use Ruins kill order once though through Endowment, right? It doesn't say we have to use it the turn it is given, just that we can use it only once. So, Snoopy- the Shards have a one use way to kill directly. Not sure if that changes anything though :/

Posted (edited)

Well, I was hoping that the trolling that Aonar and Snoopy were doing at the end of the cycle was just misdirection, but it appears that wasn't quite so. >.< It makes sense, since they're apparently all in the Shard Collective, with Hoid as their spokesperson, though, as he's probably Invested up to ying-yang by now XD But with that unexpected hit on Ruin, it does seem like Snoopy and others should be a little bit less loose with information going forward, just to be careful.

So how should we proceed with lynches from here on out? Keep casting votes for suspicious people, waiting for Snoopy to come in and say whether that's a good idea or not? (When accidentally going after Shards. But Snoopy or Devotion saving them would basically just confirm them as a target for the OCs.)

And finally... for some long awaited RP!
:D

Gramps barely managed to avoid the epic explosion as he hobbled his way through the portal from the Cognitive Realm and onto Scadrial.
"Rust and ashes." He cursed. He hated this dreary, bleak planet.

He had lost his walking staff in his escape from the remains of Nalthis. He was apparently losing some of his dexterity in his old age. At least now he wouldn't have to yell at the young ruffians to stay off his lawn. Although that Fool seemed to be making more noise than normal.

"So is nobody going to talk about a storming planet just exploding? I swear, I'm hard of hearing and seeing, but you young folks must have cotton stuffed in yer ears, and blinders attached to ye foreheads. Even a ruckus like that can wake me."

So, seriously, though. Are we not going to mention a planet exploding? I don't see the chances of a Villager Unmade hanging back so far and just randomly using their powers, exactly. It was myself, Luckat, dow, peng, and twelfth (and Joe!) on it at the time. It sounds like we have an awakener just reveal themselves, do we move on from there and start scanning?

'What?' Bortin watched in astonishment as Odium was revealed to them. The sudden flurry of information almost sent him staggering. Here he was, trying to work out how best he could help, when it turns out Odium had been with them all along. He recorded everything to his copperminds, then retreated to consider what he now knew.

The dramatic reveal held other clues that Bortin picked up on as he later recalled and studied the events that had transpired. They cast much of what he had been thinking over the past few days in a new light, and Bortin once again found himself considering those around him. He frowned, slapping himself on the forehead as a realisation came to him. He had been taken in. That said, he did now have someone to observe a little more closely, and at least he hadn't been pulled into the mislynching of Antillar.

Pulling his Terris robes straight, Bortin left his chambers in Lord Hobbes' keep. If Lord Hobbes was in contact with the Shards, and there was too much evidence not to believe it, then Bortin now knew who to speak to.

Snoopy, I'd like to talk to you please.

My suspicions are now on Dowanx. Hoid's assertion that Winter is innocent made me go back and reexamine my reasons behind voting for him in the last cycle. This led me to examine Dowanx closer too, as it was his ideas that first made me suspicious of Winter. First, he tried to suggest that Winter was trying to publicly discover who the Shards were. I don't think I've seen anything from Winter that would make me agree with that statement outside of plans everyone was discussing.

Winter seems to be publicly trying to find the Shards identities and possibly drawing attention to them.

Seems we can't quote properly from locked threads, but that was Dowanx on Day 2 (Main thread #422 - It's not a bad post for casting suspicion on Winter, I fell for it, and didn't quite believe his protests). He then voted for Winter in the day 2 cycle along with Mailliw, who we now know to be Odium, and Araris, who I know nothing about.

On day 3, he threw his vote at Vine, I think to avoid drawing attention to himself. I think this because he waited until it was obvious that Antillar was going to die, and because voting for Vine would give him an appearance of innocence (#610). Again, in this he shared the vote with Odium, but this time also with Antillar (who obviously knew he was being set up), Peng, and Leift.

Yeah, I was using the term vanilla to encompass all of those people without roles and those of us with roles that don't really give us much influence over the course of the game as is, such as the Unmade. I mean the world PMs haven't been see helpful except for that people have been getting hooked up with Cultivation in the Scadrial one. Also, while I do have a minor role, either you made a lucky guess are are in league with the shards, because anyone that gets invested by a shard shows up the same as a minor role person.

I feel I missed something. Why does everyone think mailliw is odium?

I'm not sure, but something happened with malliw (Odium) and the other Shards.  I think it involved something about him lying about his role to them, and then the good Shards either proved that he was Odium or he admitted it.

Posted (edited)

I do. Nalthis was silent. Destroying the world would force us into a new situation, which might make us start talking more.

Gramps, that's not the first time you've attracted my attention.

One quick thing here real quick, while there's nothing exactly wrong with having good times with this game, and making jokes and laughing, but we really should work on making all of our posts in these threads be quality posts -- meaning with sustenance and content.

Looking over this thread, it's 3 pages long, but probably with only a page to a page and a half of actual game discussion. Like I said, I found the tangents and jokes quite hilarious and amusing, and I will be friendly with my upvotes, but we really shouldn't let ourselves get so distracted so easily. That just seems like that's the perfect place for the eliminators to hide this game, since we've already discussed possibly taking out inactives, so they might be less likely to be hiding in there, but they could just then go for the next best thing -- posting, but not really saying anything, just popping in with quick comments and jokes to keep themselves under the radar.

You appear to be doing the experienced-player version - jumping in with easy answers, like this and the benefits of lynches, but contributing little of substance. So, Gamma, who are you suspicious of?

Edit: Ostrich, we're basically going with the second half of Aonar's plan. Maw is roleblocked and can't kill Shards. If we lynch him, we don't know where Odium is any more.

putting my vote on Alvron for now. I've found his logic thus far to be flawed. Saying that we should be more suspicious of people who voted for vine than people who didn't just seems silly.

Posted

By the way, whats stopping us from Lynching Malliw?

If Malliw is killed, the Shard will just move on to one of his champions, and we won't know who possesses Odium.  Even though team Rayse would be another man down, the situation would only get worse as we won't know who Odium is.  We should track down all of the OCs, then kill Malliw.
