Kaieldell she/her Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Brandon once competed against himself in a writing contest. He beat himself, because he's awesomer than he is. 15
king of nowhere Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Brandon can imagine a story too long to write. And then he can write it anyway. The encounter of an unstoppable force and an unmovable object happens when a sanderson book is dropped... onto another sanderson book. Yes, they are that big. . Brandon can write a better brandon fact than this one. 11
Popular Post Surgebound Rainspren he/him Posted May 10, 2015 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2015 Brandon Sanderson once wrote a story with such powerful imagery it was hung in the Louvre. 18
Popular Post BenevolentTyrant he/him Posted May 10, 2015 Popular Post Posted May 10, 2015 (edited) The Seven Days of Brandon: a Totally True account of Brandon's writing process The lore was formless and empty, headcanon was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of Brandon was hovering over the keyboard. So Brandon said, "Let there be a setting". And there was a setting. Brandon saw that it was unique and provocative, and he thought it good. On the second day Brandon created a magic system, and he integrated it into his world. And this pleased Brandon. On the third day Brandon wrote a plot outline, stretching from the Shattering to the final cosmere crossover. And there was writing and there was editing, the third day. On the fourth day Brandon gathered all his notes in one place, and he called it "worldbuilding". And this he separated into the people and the plot; and the people he called "characters", and the plot he called "events". And Brandon saw that it was good. On the fifth day Brandon said, "Let the characters have arcs, each according to their kinds: the romantic and the platonic. the villainous and the heroic, the foreseen and the unexpected." And it was so. And there was weeping and there was shipping, the fifth day. On the sixth day Brandon said, "Let the book be written," and it was written. It was the tour de force of a master writer, filled with good writing of every kind. Brandon said, "I shall call this a rough draft". And he thought it was all right. Thus the book's completion reached 100%. By the seventh day Brandon had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he wrote a Hugo-winning novella. And Brandon blessed the seventh day and made it special, for on it he rested from all the work of writing he had done. Edited May 10, 2015 by BenevolentTyrant 38

Even assuming you are Christian (which I am) it's really just a reference to the general sentence structure of a particular section in relation to someone trying to write a book. 2

Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Brandon is such a good author, a war was fought over one of his books. We call it the Civil War.
vineyarddawg Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Well, since someone started the blasphemy before me... In one of the most unusual questions that he's received at his most recent book signing, Brandon Sanderson had to clarify to the local leadership of the LDS church that the Pearl of Great Price was, in fact, not Cosmere. 8

Stormgate he/him Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Sanderson created a Podcast called Writing Excuses. It was so good, that after I started listening to it, my book ideas went from one to three, and it took me a while to figure out the first one. Not only that, but my existing idea was fleshed out a bit. True story! This post is not supported by Writing Excuses. 2
