Curiosity he/him Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Could you define "one-shot", please? I've never heard the term before.
little wilson she/her Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 The Marvel one-shots are the short films Marvel released. They vary in length from 4 min to 15 min. You can find one each on the blu-rays of Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Thor: The Dark World. (So there are 5 of them total, currently)
Kobold King he/him Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 The Marvel one-shots are the short films Marvel released. They vary in length from 4 min to 15 min. (So there are 5 of them total, currently) Those of us without any devices capable of playing blu-rays despise them heartily. 2
Newan he/him Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 WLIU, name all the Marvel one-shots I was born for this. The Consultant A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer Item 42 Agent Carter All Hail The King WLIU, name 13 episodes of Agents of SHIELD
Newan he/him Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Ok that one may have been a little bit too difficult. In no particular order: Pilot The 084 FZZT The Well The Magical Place The Bridge TRACKS TAHITI The End of the Beginning The Beginning of the End Turn, Turn, Turn Ragtag Aftershocks NEW QUESTION! WLIU, name 20 characters who have appeared in Agents of SHIELD. (Last name, first name, or superhero/villain name is ok. Don't worry about spelling)
little wilson she/her Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Yeah, I got up to 10, but I couldn't figure out another 3. Which is funny, because I've been rewatching it with one of my roommates right now. But I don't pay attention to the episode title. This character one is easier though.... Phil Coulson Skye Grant Ward Melinda May Leo Fitz Jemma Simmons Nick Fury Maria Hill Raina Garrett Antoine Triplett Mack Deathlok Ace Peterson Victoria Hand Jasper Sitwell Peggy Carter Daniel Whitehall Calvin (Skye's dad--I'm pretty sure his name is Calvin, anyway) Camilla Reyes Lady Sif Lorelai I wish actors/actresses counted. I could've gotten a few more that I couldn't remember the names of. Like Amy Acker's character. And Dichen Lachman. Name 6 characters who appear in both Marvel movies and tv shows. Bonus points (and an upvote) if you can name the actor who had a bit part in a Marvel movie and a main role in one of the tv shows (he played two different characters).
Newan he/him Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Phil Coulson Nick Fury Maria Hill Jasper Sitwell Peggy Carter Lady Sif Arnim Zola Dum Dum Dugan Howard Stark (Also, I am predicting that Daisy, Raina, and that awesome myrdraal are going to at least have cameos in The Inhumans) The actor is Enver Gjokaj. He was a cop in The Avengers and Agent Sousa in Agent Carter. WLIU, name 10 sentient robots. 2
traceria she/her Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) Expendables (from Pathfinder, three of which are called Ram, Odin and Vadesh) Chappie No. 5 [is alive!] Data (Does he count? Are androids under the umbrella of "robot?") The dude from Wormhold Extreme on Stargate SG-1 who fills the role of Teal'c Data's Mom (Dr. Something-or-other) Data's Daughter, Lal (sp?) K-9 Terminator TARS Bonus: In a story in The Martian Chronicles, there is a whole family of robots made by one of the few people who stayed behind on Mars after most colonists returned to earth. His actual family all died, and so he made replacements of all the members. If androids aren't legit, I'll try to think of three more. EDIT: If my answers are acceptable, here's the next one: WLIU, name five types of tea. By "types" I mean a variety, not a flavor. So, you're freebie example is Oolong. Edited March 6, 2015 by traceria 3
traceria she/her Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Upvote for Tars Aww, thanks! I was just checking out the release date for Interstellar yesterday. So excited it will be out soon!
Titan Arum Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 WLIU, name five types of tea. By "types" I mean a variety, not a flavor. So, you're freebie example is Oolong. 1) Black tea 2) White tea 3) Herbal tea 4) Green tea 5) Oolong tea (thanks for the freebie!) 6) "Tea" out of soda fountains or in a can...which probably isn't real tea WLIU, what are the 8 Ivy League universities? Bonus: what university, founded by Thomas Jefferson, is considered to be a Public Ivy League university?
traceria she/her Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 *thumbs up* Mate or Yerba Mate could also have been an option. . (Ugh, I realized I typed 'you're' instead of 'your!' Oh no!)
Curiosity he/him Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Titan, I think you've stumped us. I've only got Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and (?)University of Pennsylvania(?).
Left he/him Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 University of Virginia is the bonus one, I know that much.
traceria she/her Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I have disqualified myself by looking it up, but I will mention that University of Virginia is not in the list I found.
little wilson she/her Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 It's a public Ivy. There are a bunch of them. Plus, that's the only university I'm aware of that was founded by Thomas Jefferson. I could add Brown to that list, but I can't answer the question because I looked it up (though I did know Brown and the others already mentioned before I looked it up).
Titan Arum Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi Everyone! Sorry for not getting back to the board quicker. My grandmother passed this weekend, so I had priorities elsewhere. 1) Harvard 2) Yale 3) Brown 4) Princeton 5) Dartmouth 6) University of Pennsylvania 7) Cornell 8) Columbia Bonus, LeftVash for the win: University of Virginia WLIU, What are the first 7 decimals of the mathematical constant of Pi. (Hint: the time associated with these 7 decimals+the leading 3 will be heavily celebrated this upcoming Saturday as Pi Day, since it's the best approximation of Pi we'll ever see with regards to date and time).
Kobold King he/him Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi Everyone! Sorry for not getting back to the board quicker. My grandmother passed this weekend, so I had priorities elsewhere. WLIU, What are the first 7 decimals of the mathematical constant of Pi. (Hint: the time associated with these 7 decimals+the leading 3 will be heavily celebrated this upcoming Saturday as Pi Day, since it's the best approximation of Pi we'll ever see with regards to date and time). I'm so sorry about your grandmother. 3.14159265 is as far as I can count Pi. If that's correct--and I'm not 100% sure that it is--then without looking it up, name seven types of nature spirit from mythology.
Titan Arum Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I'm so sorry about your grandmother. 3.14159265 is as far as I can count Pi. If that's correct--and I'm not 100% sure that it is--then without looking it up, name seven types of nature spirit from mythology. Thanks Kobold. She'll be missed. We're going to celebrate her life with style in about a month and a half when family form all over the country can gather. You're correct with the first 8 decimals! With that, I'm going to plug this Saturday as an epic day in the history of awesomeness: March 14th, 2015 at exactly 9:26 am, will be when you should all consume pie in some form, in honor of Pi Day. 4
traceria she/her Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Ah, I did not know that about public Ivy league schools! You learn something new everyday. 7 nature spirits from mythology...I am blanking after four. I will work on this if someone doesn't beat me to it. Edit to add: Titan Arum, I'm also sorry to hear about your grandmother. *hugs * Edited March 9, 2015 by traceria

Edit to add: Titan Arum, I'm also sorry to hear about your grandmother. *hugs * Thanks for the thoughts, traceria! A public ivy isn't a ral thing. More just what the best public universities are "called". This list includes UVA, UC Berkeley, Michigan, UNC, and many other great universities. However, there is a story that TJ was asked to make UVA an ivy, but he refused because he wanted it to be a public uni.
traceria she/her Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 If Gaea doesn't count, two of the ones I had in mind were a river/water dragon (Japanese) and a dryad. Naiad is spelled with two a's, I believe.
gjustice99 she/her Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Satyr and Faun are the same thing.....
