And the trilogy concludes with The Existence of the Previous Two Spoils Everything

I think he accidentally wrote another book, which is the sequel to Bands of Mourning. He hid it because if all the other fantasy authors knew he had accidentally written two books, they would all just give up and Brandon's publishers didn't want him to do that.

And secretly, that's what the document underneath it is! (I kid, but still...) :D

Only more proof that the Sanderbots are working really well now and evolving into an army of super-writing things...

Two points:

Point 1:

I would assume that the secret project is one of these two:

A) A script or something else he can't talk about because it has other parties involved (video game/movie/graphic novel/something else crazy!)

A book with a really spoilerly title like this:

Something from the State of the Sanderson that might spoil the Wax & Wayne trilogy:

Back after I finished The Alloy of Law, I sat down and plotted out a trilogy with the same characters. The Alloy of Law was more of a happy, improvised accident. The follow-up trilogy is meant to be more intentional. So in the end, we’ll have four total. (The final one is tentatively called The Lost Metal.)

State of the Sanderson 2014

Sounds like atium being rediscovered to me. Harmonium never had a chance to be lost, and lerasium only seemingly appeared at TLR's ascension, so unless there's an extra supply of malatium out there, atium is going to be a pivotal mystery here.

This theory loses some of its credibility because he openly posted a speculative title on the State of the Sanderson, and he's hiding this one, suggesting a very different level of secrecy, and therefore a different project.

Point 2:

The background document may be

SoS sample chapters

Spook's book or whoever's book that was that Marsh gave Wax. That would explain the words "Luthadel" and "Kelsier's".

I doubt that the secret is anything other than a normal book, given that he said Calamity is now his 38th book, and everything listed there is a book given a number.

I may have misread it but Peter's reply seemed to indicate two teasers in the image: the secret folder (which I agree is likely a book) and whatever the document in the background is. The background document could be another secret book but it could be part of a non-book project. Brandon mentioned the film rights to Mistborn were available in February so I'm merely hopeful the document is related to that (script, background/world info/etc)

Either way, exciting stuff! Though the last modified date on SA3 did make me a little sad.

On the secret being a movie script or something:

whereitbegan

Anyone else think it might be a movie or television script?

Everything else in that folder is a novel, he seems to have a different folder for novellas and such (see how there's no Legion?), I would imagine he would also have a different folder for scripts.

PeterAhlstrom

This is correct.

Then the foreground secret could be a spoilerific novel and the background secret could be something completely different. Like a script. Or not.

Shame I can't put myself in a bubble and wait 'til these are released. :(

You'd have to bring enough Cadmium...assuming you're a Pulser/Mistborn, that is. :D

At this point, I am pretty sure he just accidentally wrote the fourth Stormlight book, and Stones Unhallowed is already done.

The unfinished secret isn't Stones Unhallowed because that is listed above it and can be seen.

I was suggesting (jokingly) that Stormlight 4 was the secret and that Stones was finished already.

Which means that he probably finished the 5th SA book as a pre-writing exercise for Stones Unhallowed.

So hopefully Bonds Unbroken will come out soon!

Assuming you mean Bonds Unbroken as Dalinar's book, I thought it was to be called The Highprince of War

Dalinar's book was only going to be called Highprince of War when it was going to be the second book. Whichever book ends up being Dalinar's now will have a different title.

Definitely Twilight Fan Fic.

The saddest thing was if it was written by Brandon.... I'd probably read it :'(

Twilight Sparkle is Brandon's favourite pony? Awesome!

...anyway, not idea on the secret. I'm guessing it's either another Mistborn announcement, or something to do with the Elantris ten year anniversary thing.

Though I can always hope against hope for Nightblood.

I am glad someone other than me was thinking non-Mistborn, non-SA. Though I doubt it is Nightblood, because that would spoil absolutely nothing, unless he's changed his title to something else (The Last Awakener, Final Breath, etc.) We will always hope, Quiver.
