Big Announcement 12/18/14 4:00PM

Brandon tweeted that he will be tweeting a big announcement today at 4:00 PM EST .  My guess is it will be a release date for Shadows of Self since his update bar is full.   Anyone have any other ideas?

As has been discussed in other forums, it is possibly the 10th Anniversary Edition of Elantris, Tor releasing the Alcatraz books and an official announcement on Alcatraz 5, new information on the White Sand graphic novels, or, as you said, Shadows of Self information.

In the scope of big announcements, this is a cool one--but not "fall over and die" cool. Probably more of an "Oh, Brandon. Of course you did that" than anything else.

In response to the person who posted about film deals, I do think we're getting steadily closer to seeing something actually get made. There has been a lot of very cool behind-the-scenes Hollywood stuff going on lately, which might very well lead to a feature film in the next few years--but we're not close enough yet to do an announcement.

I've learned not to get too excited about film adaptations, after seeing many options on my works come and go. Anyway, State of the Sanderson WILL go up tomorrow, and will tie into the announcement.

Hmm. Going to guess... some kind of reference thing? I wish for a Cosmere Encyclopedia, but that's too big and too soon - so maybe some kind of smaller resource? With sciency magic? That's along the lines of "of course you did that"

AND we get State of the Sanderson today! I can't hardly wait. I really hope it has something to do with White Sand, because I think I'm most excited about the graphic novel version. After getting a copy from him and reading it voraciously, I began imagining how it would play out in comic form. (By the way, how to I join the private discussion on White Sand?)

Looks like the announcement is pushed back to 430; however it seems that they're not entirely sure when it may happen! (But it will probably be in a tight window, such as the 30 minutes he's gone back and forth with).
