Seonid he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I'm in. I guess I'll pick female from district 11, because everyone seems to be snapping up all of the males. Gotta be some balance, right? Niobe, female tribute from district 11. (Note that I've never actually read Hunger Games. I just want to get in on the Sanderson Elimination action...) 2
Peng the Just he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 I'm thinking about adding something that says you can only hold two or three items at a time. What do you guys think?
Ashiok Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Female from 12, and cap at 3, so if only three or four go on day 1, they can carry all the items.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Female from 12, and cap at 3, so if only three or four go on day 1, they can carry all the items. I agree about the cap at 3.
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) I'll be a male from 1 And I'm starting a faction: The Victors. The first three people to PM me, we'll work together to help each other survive (You can trust me. I'm not a very good liar. I solemnly swear that on the honor of my e-reader) EDIT: And by the way, my name is... Cato Mato. Don't wear it out. EDIT 2: My, you updated the roster fast... So I was thinking, what are the special expletives we're supposed to use in the HG universe? Do we yell "Snow!" or "Coin!" whenever we stub our toes? I need something to work with here. Something to replace "Storms" and "Storming". Sigh... Our vocabulary is going to be so boring in Collins Elimination... Edited December 15, 2014 by mckeedee123 1

But, with your play style, I'd be inclined to trust you. But then again, this is Sanderson Elimination, where truth is nonexistent. Peng, what time approximately will the rollover times be? 1
Ashiok Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 You can use storming with justification of having read sanderson, I guess... Sanderson exists in EVERY universe. EVERY UNIVERSE. Also, my name will be some witty pun with Ash and shooting... Gimme a bit to think of one.
Newan he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Here are some of my ideas for strategies: 1) I think we should announce if we plan on going for the Cornucopia. If there are at least fifteen people going for the Cornucopia, I don't think anyone else would want to sign up. This benefits everyone. Too many people at the cornucopia means that you are more likely to be killed. Too few people at the cornucopia means that a lot of people are running away when they don't have to, and a minority is going to get most of the items. Newan is currently planning on going for the Cornucopia. If I change my mind, I will retract it in blue. 2) Alliances should not betray each other early on. Alliances cannot last forever, and the urge to get a head start and kill your allies early on will be strong. If people are going to fall into this, alliances will be completely useless. I say that every alliance should set an expiration date. Maybe it's the number of cycles you will stay together, or maybe it's the number of other people alive. Either way, if somebody breaks an alliance before it expires, nobody take them in. If somebody can't be trusted, they must be killed. 3) Beginners should work together. The people who have been playing this game for a long time have history together. If you form an alliance with Kasimir and Renegade and you get close to the end of the game, who do you think they are going to choose to kill? (No offense, guys) 4) Don't kill me. If you're thinking about killing me, just tell me. Instead, you should let me promise not to kill you for the next four turns if you promise not to kill me for as long. Or if you just want to kill me for my item, tell me so. I'll give you my item if you let me into your alliance. It's better than dying. An agreement can be made. This game makes me want to be evil and ruthless, but I know it will work out better if I choose to be honorable instead. Life before death! 2
Peng the Just he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) Rollovers should be around 11 or 12 mst. Sheesh, guys. The game hasn't even started yet and your already planning. Edited December 15, 2014 by jasonpenguin 1

His favorite cosmere character is Zane. 1

Ashiok Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Whaddya know? Ashette was snooping around the other tributes' rooms, and she found these books by a man named Brandon Sanderson. She instantly decided that her favorite tributes were the ones who brought the books, and asked to ally with them on the spot. 1

Mato was snooping around and found that every single tribute had one or more Brandon Sanderson books. Looks like we're all fans. How about that? In fact, in one locker Mato found all 36 Cosmere books (Storms. Now I wish I really could live as a slave in a horrible dystopia just so that I could have access to all books that will one day be written by Brandon Sanderson) EDIT: Nevermind. I'd probably just end up finding that he died of a horrible fungus halfway through writing Highprince of War, leaving the entire fandom hanging, forever to debate what realmatic theory was and which characters died by the end of the Cosmere Saga. MEK, I want to join this alliance of yours, but, as I said below, I won't be able to get on right at the beginning of the cycle. Save me a spot? Who? Me? Yes. You. But, we'll see how it goes once we start. EDIT: Rollovers should be around 11 or 12 mst. Sheesh, guys. The game hasn't even started yet and your already planning. AM or PM? I assume AM, but I want to make sure. If it is, that means I can't get on until a few hours later, unless we start on saturday. Also, Mil happened to read this banned Archive about Stormlight he found in the forests of District 7. Edited December 15, 2014 by Mailliw73 2

Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Thanks to you, I read "AM" as "Altermind" Sorry for that. At least I didn't say LW or NH. We don't need 11 or 12 of those. 2

Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Good, good. Another person who uses "Storming". "Lord Ruler" is for sissies Good. : ) I will create a PM with you once I can to show you my faith. Storm that storming Stormfather.
Ashiok Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Can we quit it with the white text? It's not nice! I want to be able to read without highlighting everything.
Lightsworn Panda he/him Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Jain, a male who claims to be from District 13 is signing up. And of course, he's bringing a toy panda.
Aonar he/him Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 ....Yet another good reason why it's a good thing I'm not playing this game.... Someone needs to claim District 13! Yeah, I'm beginning to think that signing up for this may not have been the smartest idea... At least not when people are advocating such... altruistic, gameplay. Who said District 3 is where I'm actually from? However, this is an iterated game, so tit for tat, (starting with the assumption of cooperation) is likely the most effective option anyways. (To start, anyways.) At least, I think that's what Newan seems to be going for. My goodness. The Alliances and metagaming are starting early, aren't they? 1

Well, hey, way to spoil the white-text. (Not that I would have noticed anyway if it hadn't accidentally been posted as normal text until it was edited to white) Edited December 16, 2014 by mckeedee123 1
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 So I can't be from district 19? alright, is district 9 taken? All that blank space looks really suspicious, doesn't it?
