Kobold King he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) Somehow you managed to give a cartoon pony the universal "I want to speak to your manager" look. (I recognized it from the groans of a thousand customer service employees that went up when I saw her picture. ) (It's an awesome pony. ) "I want to speak to your manager." Nightwielder blinked, surprised by the request. He usually didn't speak during meetings with lesser Epics, but he couldn't help himself this time. "You... wish to speak to my manager?" "Yes," the Epic said smugly. Her hair and dress were the same shade as the coffee she served, accentuated with broad white stripes. Her face bore a wide smile; the smile of a woman convinced she had taken the high ground in a potential conflict. Nightwielder continued to stare at her, processing the unconventional request. "I hope you realize that most Epics of your level wish not to meet my superior. Your request bespeaks not victory, but overwhelming stupidity." "Must I repeat myself?" Mocha Maxima stressed in exasperation. "I wish to speak to your manager, and I wish to speak to him now." The casino was silent for a long moment before a shadowy tentacle raised a mobile phone to Nightwielder's ear. "Emperor?" he said, his voice wavering. "We have a... customer complaint." There was a booming voice that somehow managed to reach every listener in the builder in an indistinct roar of outrage. Nightwielder winced. "Yes," Nightwielder repeated, wincing. "The coffee one. In the Red Dice Casino. Right. Nightwielder out." The shadow Epic turned back to the seated woman, who was smiling triumphantly as she raised a latte to her lips. "He'll be right over," Nightwielder said matter-of-factly. "I'll be in my bunker." And that was the day Nathan Sperry witnessed Steelheart singlehandedly crushing the Fractured States' coffee industry. (Thanks. ) Edited December 15, 2014 by Kobold King 3
Edgedancer he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Are there better uses for my time than ponifying Mocha Maxima? Certainly. Somehow none of them are quite as satisfying. If there were a sombrero option in the creator I'd ponify El Brass Bullish Dude. Somehow this one makes me want to eat chocolate Apart from from that she´s so awesomely mean looking that I have to counter with my own nicer pony. (You guessed it, also from what I´m working on right now.) "I want to speak to your manager." Nightwielder blinked, surprised by the request. Steelheart regarded the woman as she sipped her latte with smiling lips. She produced a slip of paper from her purse, which she presented to him for inspection. "Yes, Emperor. As you can see, I have a coupon, but this young man refused to honor it." The ginger cringed almost imperceptibly, but for the most part adopting the look of blank subservience all servants were taught to wear. After a moment's inspection, Steelheart held the coupon to the woman again. "The Red Dice Casino doesn't issue coupons." "Yes it does." "You do realize this coupon expired a month ago." "What?" Incredulous, she reached for the coupon. Steelheart's palm glowed. Sam's eyes were wide. "And he....?" "Yep," Nathan said with a small wince. "Buried her with the coupon stapled to her forehead." "Wow." "Yeah. That's the only time the manager ever sided with me." He sipped his soda. "Made me think Steelheart must've worked retail." 3

Kobold King he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 It does explain a lot. No matter how idealistic you are, a customer service job WILL make you hate people. Theory: all Epics worked as customer service representatives before Calamity. Steelheart at the bank, Nightwielder at a large Japanese company, and Mitosis as the chief PR person for his band. Also, I invited someone on the Social Guilds portion of the site to join the Oregon RP. Does that make me the PR person for WHIO? 2

Well, once I already recruited people to join Funtimes and/or this RP, so it´s more like like the sacred duty for all of us. 1

(Note to self: use break to catch up with actually socializing outside the RP. ) 1
Kobold King he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 When Calamity hits, I know your weakness already. Who was it? (Note to self: use break to catch up with actually socializing outside the RP. ) When Calamity hits, the first thing I'm doing is laying waste to Arizona. (Or... well, making Arizona even more wasteland-y, I suppose.) Queen Elsa Steelheart. I told her that a character in the RP had already mentioned someone called "The Snow Queen of Newcago," and she expressed some interest in joining. 1
Seonid he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Hmmm....The Dalles has been quiet lately. I think that I need to bring a dragon in. Maybe on my lunch break at work tonight... 3

Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 AM or PM? I assume AM, but I want to make sure. If it is, that means I can't get on until a few hours later, unless we start on saturday. Thanks to you, I read "AM" as "Altermind" Just thought I would quote this here. 1
Newan he/him Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Just thought I would quote this here. And the best part: Sorry for that. At least I didn't say LW or NH. We don't need 11 or 12 of those. 2
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 For reference, in the newest Sanderson Collins Elimination game, I was asking if the time 11 or 12 referred to was a.m. or p.m.
Kobold King he/him Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 And the best part: I would not necessarily be opposed to 11 or 12 Lightwards' and Nighthounds being forced to compete against each other in the Hunger Games. 1

Lightsworn Panda he/him Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 (edited) I go on a hiatus for a week, and the 4th Question Thread fills up. Sheesh, the Oregon Planning Threads are starting to look like a Test... Edited December 16, 2014 by Lightsworn Panda
Voidus Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Are all these Epics on the Google Doc somewhere or do you just have them? I can't remember seeing this one. Wow… Um, Astoria's going to be quite the place. I have a brief Electro post ready, but I'm going to wait to post it until I have Max's response too. Electro is getting darker, so don't be surprised by what happens... Joe, that won't conflict with Corpsemaker's orders will it? Electro is just going to have a brief walk out in the town. I have a much larger private doc where most of my Epics are, there were a few days where I didn't have internet so I made an offline doc for them and I haven't got around to updating the online doc yet. I'm getting there though

He doesnt need to say anything, I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't ruin anything if Electro went out on the streets for an hour or so.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I hit on a particularly disturbing bit of Fridge Horror in Steelheart today. In Chicago, there is a library. It is a beautiful library, one of the largest in the world. It is also located downtown—one of the areas Steelheart's anger transformed into steel. When David returns to the bank, he mentions that the mosaic on the floor is now gone, as every colored tile has been changed to steel. This establishes that Steelheart's transfersion changes the surface of anything colored, although it keeps textures intact. This means that within the Chicago Public Library…. …..all of those books…. ….would have been erased. Every one of those pages would have been turned to a thin sheet of blank steel. All because one little Epic threw a temper tantrum. 3
