That was an amazing game. @The Unknown Medallion & @Wahrheitswächter, great job. I don't know which of you came up with that, but it was great.

It was TUM who came up with the Rules, I just helped.

There was a Time where Aeyori was considered for the LG112 Slot and she offered to invite me as CoGM, when she ultimately declined the Spot, I was like well, I was looking forward to CoGMing, lets be bold for a second and just ask TUM, as you have all seen it worked Great, and honestly, TUM also choose a really good Roleover Time its the first time where I could be consistently on for Roleover.

Great game guys.
Thank you mods for creating this game and for putting up with all the things I tried to do and couldn't do because I misread the rules 😂

Congratulations Elims, that was so crazy.

*sighs* And so continues my 0% win percentage in SE.

That was a great game. And I feel so justified in thinking Araris was already converted. I was just too busy by the end there to argue for it as much. And then I was dead so couldn’t vote anyway. But I feel very proud for catching that subconsciously (I’d actually felt a weird vibe first before I came up with a logical argument for why they’d pick Araris). Also I’m really proud of my Investiture gambit at the start of the PseudoGame, even if I didn’t end up doing much more past that. I meant to PM Spider for more of the game, but I just got busy. And then vacation started this last Saturday and I’ve been almost entirely absent. Overall, very fun game. Thank you to TUM and Wahr for running it! Congrats to the elims!

Yeah, this, plus you being a Lurker, made me rather annoyed at the first missed NK, which was targeted at you. I probably switched too suddenly into “solve mode” and also had too much confidence in xino as elim. I was also deliberately ignoring discussions of the convert, such as not addressing you directly at all.

I’m kinda glad nobody asked me about the role I claimed to have back when I pulled my gambit with Verdance. That might have gotten me picked out at the convert, since a bit of analysis would have revealed I had vote manip, which the elims would definitely want to prioritize.

One of my potential endgame gambits was to use your Lurker role as a justification for you being the convert. But that was always scary because if I didn’t sway enough folks, the fact you actually has vote manip would have ended poorly for me, especially since I needed to be able to use the NK.

I definitely picked up on the vibes from you after you got Converted, I just couldn’t quite place them and changed my mind too easily in the last cycle - I should’ve considered that you obviously wouldn’t back me on a train against yourself

The rules were me, inspired by LG92 with the Pseudogame rules pulled from Tyrian and various Shard games.

GM thoughts:

Spoiler

Let's just get into this.

I was happy with how the game went. There wasn't a consensus on which way they should Bet, and it drove discussion in the early game until there was enough info to start discovering elims, which was exactly what I wanted.

My hope was also that one team would be winning toward the end of the Pseudogame, only for the Bet to make it even. That was pretty much exactly what happened. The village was looking up, they had some elim identities discovered, but the elims won the Bet, giving themselves the chance to swing the game back in their favor.

The Pseudogame rules also worked out pretty well. I didn't really care how balanced the Pseudogame was, I wanted the game to be decided by the players, not me. Despite not caring, the rules themselves were pretty balanced imo. It was designed to be self regulating between the PseudoGM, Spiked, and metagame knowledge, and it was. I was surprised that Nalthis never got destroyed. You all were just too nice.

The Coinshots were hilarious. I gave you a bunch of Coinshots so that the Metagame would end quickly, but then the PseudoGMs went crazy and gave you a bunch more. I laughed so hard every time I wrote "They were a Coinshot!"

People liked Nalthis more than I expected. I thought it would mainly be villagers on Roshar and elims on Nalthis, but everyone was very trusting and gave Striker other people a ton of investiture.

Despite winning the Bet, I don't feel like the elims really affected the Pseudogame that much. Myst did all of their work for them :P I was hoping there would be a mid-early game elim death that would reveal the Bet, then it would be a race to see who could win first, but what we got was still very entertaining.

I'm not fond of the Snapping mechanic. It didn't really get utilized, but it could have had unforeseen effects that we luckily avoided. I probably won't include it in the future. I also wasn't really planning on showing Snapping potential to the IM and scanners, but it got put into one PM early on and I had to keep doing it from there.

The PseudoGM and the PseudoIM played off of each other very well. I decided to give both alignments both because I wanted the maximum number of interactions. I wanted the elims to use the IM to find threats, the village to find elim tomfoolery, and the village to be able to shift the fate of the Pseudogame if they didn't like where it was going. All of those things and more happened. Hoid’s writeups were also great, though I wish they could have been used for mechanical purpose like Tineye Messages usually are.

The Metagame was alright. The Metaroles weren't what I hoped. They were funny when I made them, but their actual impact wasn't that great, other than the PseudoGM and PseudoIM. The Araris/Ver Roleplayer interaction was amazing though, especially with the convert later.

And the activity. There's not much you can do when a game runs for thirty days. Thirty. Days. That's insane, and I don't blame anyone who became inactive for any length of time at any point. Especially with how complicated this game seems (I stand by that it's really quite simple in practice), some people were bound to feel overwhelmed.

I learned (not for the first time tbh) that I need to just not have an inactivity filter. I'm terrible at enforcing it, and pinch-hitters are a pain to deal with (you're all lovely people, it's just like having to call the bank, I don't want to do it).

The distro worked out well I think. I had two guarantees when assigning the Pseudodistro: exactly one double elim, and no double vanillas. The first one would change in future, but it was important for the dynamic I wanted this game to have. I'm happy with giving both alignments GM/IM pairs, it worked out well.

Will I ever rerun this? I think so, if I ever have the time for it. Some changes need to be made time wise. I just don't like like doing 24 hour rollovers, so that's out. I think I could probably strip the Metagame to barebones, remove the roles, make PseudoGM and PseudoIM Pseudoroles (that would clear up some confusion I think), and make Metacycles 24 hours with exes only happening when the majority agrees on one person. That would be more Long Game-y, and then the end game would be automatically shortened cycles.

I hope everyone enjoys the Shardworld docs, particularly Scadrial Cycle Three. Hell was also a blast. See everyone next game (you can get your revenge on me then because I'll be a player)

Edit: I decided to change my name to the Unknown Character in honor of the victors
