Guests on Community

So i mean its natural that there are far more guests than registered users

but why, oh why, are like 90% of them just stalking us on the community pages?

am I just paranoid and easily freaked out or do yall agree that that is weird? I feel like guests shouldn’t be able to view community pages and other random stuff like that. Like, theories, info, other anonymous stuff that really doesn’t matter- but why can they just stare at my profile and scroll through my posts?

Maybe they're lonely and they want to see what it's like here.

Ideally, they shouldn't be able to get any information about you from these pages. I don't think they're stalkers, though, because it would be pretty easy to make an account to appear less suspicious. They're probably just browsing. I mean, community stuff has (I think) TLT, TBftS, etc.

i believe some are just bots

also this is a public forum

whatever you post is here forever

anyone and everyone will see it

even if you delete it

it never disappears

maybe the bots just be lookin at the most popular subforums

100% the vast majority of the guests are bots data harvesting.

Yeah, these aren't real people. They have become far more numerous with the advent of generative AI these days. Lots of people want to harvest as much data as possible. We have had to block so much on the Coppermind because they kept slamming that server, to a degree that the site wouldn't load. Pay no mind to these.

As others have said, its probably AI and webcrawlers pulling information.
