Is First of the Sun the world MeLaan met refugees at?

Pretty sure we know that to be roshar or near roshar since the people are described like horneaters

No, since the unsea around First of the Sun isn't "more viscous than water", but the opposite.

But speaking of this TLM  epilogue, the Sho Del are supposed to be "...excellent guides. Something about having a direct line to their gods" (dragons?). Which somewhat contradicts what is said about the difficulties of navigating in Shadesmar in Emberdark.

They might be excellent guide relative to the time period they are being called excellent guides in. Or they are good going from known point A to known point B while Navigators are better with uncharted areas.

I took that to mean that they can sense the direction of the Dragon to whom they pray. So, in theory, while most travellers would only have the Knell as a point of reference, they would have two points of reference (possibly enabling triangulation to assist in navigation).
