Hmm... so for @Dragonheir's system

A-type star-turned-Red Giant, 1.74 Suns in mass, 2.711 billion years old.

G-type star, 0.95 Suns in mass, 5.441 billion years old.

I'm going to roll for original planets first, and see which get swallowed by the Red Giant. Hmm...

I just opened up Artifexian's WorldSmith 5.00 and... it says that the main sequence lifespan of the A-Star is 1.898 billion years. Which means there's a good chance that it's already a white dwarf, but I'm yet to find a calculator that says how long a star stays in the giant phase. However, the Sun will be a Red Giant for about a billion years, and this star has been a giant for 0.802 billion years. So, what do you all think? Should this star be a White Dwarf?

WHITE DWARF

WHITE DWARF

We're going with white dwarf.

I'm going to assume that the white dwarf has no surviving planets. The G-Class, however... I'm going to roll for dominant gas giants first, so your Jupiters and Saturns. Between 0 and 3... rolled a 2. I'm going to say between 0.3 and 13 Jupiter masses is what makes a gas giant and to be a dominant one it has to be at least 0.2 Jupiters. So... I'm going to first roll for either sub or super jupiter... sub... and 0.8 Jupiters is the first dominant gas giant. Next gas giant has 12 Jupiter masses.

Alright so I'm slowly building this star system. A 0.8 Jupiter mass gas giant and a 12 Jupiter mass one.

Eventually, I'll roll for minor gas giants, terrestrial planets, major dwarf planets, etc.

Also the distance between the two stars will be important.

@Dragonheir, what's this system's name?

I am still trying to figure this out. Do I ask you for a star system, or do I make one?

If the former, can I have one with a slightly cool star, with planets that could potentially have multiple climates?

Actually, would a binary star system, in which the two stars are orbiting each other and with the planet going between them in a figure eight work?

I figured the planet would get ripped apart, but maybe I could save it? That feels Valorous.

(I clearly have not studied astronomy)

While unlikely, you could have a planet orbit two stars in a figure eight, although it would be a highly unstable orbit. I do not see why the planet would be ripped apart.

saving planets from their imenint doom is my thing!

It would make a very interesting climate though!

And unstable orbits aren't an issue- we can just kinda ignore that.

I just give you a system. You decide whether it suits your purposes or you want another one.

You got an F-class star with 1.28 Solar masses. It is 1.332 billion years old and will become a red giant when it is about 4.8 billion years old. I'll find a method for planet rolling eventually.

Very lucky to get a trinary system, very unlucky to have two of them being brown dwarves. The third is a K-Type.

18.1 and 78.9 Jupiter masses for the two brown dwarves, or 0.0181 and 0.0789 Suns. The second has lithium fusion. If you smash both of them, you can get a M-type star.

The K-Type is 0.58 Suns in mass.

I'll roll for planets eventually if both of you are fine with these star and failed stars.

Nice, thank you! That’s a big planet… (honestly might consider it a small brown dwarf)

I don’t think I have decided name yet - I shall stew on it and maybe resort to some sort of generator.

Yeah 13 Jupiters is the deuterium fusion threshold.

I wonder what would happen if we smashed the brown dwarves into the K star?

Huh. Layke may do more stellar modifications and either add mass for a new star or take some out to make some smaller planets.

Either a bigger star, an explosion, or both.

For an M, you need a minumin of 80 Jupiters, and I don't think a Shard can do that. But yeah you can get a brown dwarf.

One made from Laykium...

We need to decide your god metal's properties

There might be a small explosion but you'd still have a K. The brown dwarves are not massive enough to make it a G.

Its to get rid of the dwarfs, not to enlarge the star.

Would it destroy things?

Well, I’ve got a 12 Jupiter planet, a 0.8 Jupiter planet, and a moderately sized nebula, so…

Laykium star will be odd. Though it does defeat the point of Layke’s efforts - efficiency.
I’ve been thinking a number of things. God metal properties can change, and I think it’s on brand for Invention’s metal to be useful for inventing things (and hence have at least one more property or interaction), but at the moment Laykium will try to organize itself into patterns based on the things around it. Maybe we should take this to the magic thread.

It's a supergiant... will we get a nuetron star? Or even a black hole?

I'm shooting for the perpendicularity awakened blackhole with extra time distortions.

might also collapse the three realms in the taldain system?

This is almost certainly far beyond what Ado intended.

A black hole could be your avatar. As if an island wasn't insane enough.

Sentient black holes are going to wreak havoc.
