We used to wonder how Jasnah's policy of modernization would fare during her reign. Well, she won't rule Alethkar or anywhere any longer. So what will she do?

  • Search for interstellar allies?
  • Abandon all politics and concentrate on arcane studies?
  • Turn to politics within the Knights Radiant?
  • Exile?

Work ceaselessly to free her mother from the Final Fantasy crystal prison she's currently in? (Seriously, Roshar could be the setting for FF game, easy.)

Not enough cool fashion going on.

I dunno if she had her whole sense of self destroyed. She clearly was effected by her failure, and it did not help that basically her entire social circle either died, went into a coma, or she broke up with them.

Gotta be really awkward for her around Renarin. First of all because Renarin is an awkward dork by default, but also that "Still sorry about that one time I almost executed you for no good reason" business.

WaT ch 146 implies that Jasnah will still be the Queen of Alethkar in exile, but her power will be slowly reduced over time. She will remain in Urithiru as a ruling figure in the new Alethi government and Urithiru government. She isn't going anywhere, she still will be a queen, but not an absolute one.

Quote

“Jasnah, I wish to adopt your system,” Renarin said. “Can we institute a representative government for Urithiru, as you have for the Alethi exiles here?”
“I will show you how,” she said softly.
“What?” Sebarial said. “But—”
“My brother and I refuse the throne,” Renarin said. “I won’t stand for a highprince to be elevated. We will have an elected senate and a Ministerial Exemplar.” He stopped, looking back at them. “I think you’ll find Brightness Jasnah’s writings on the topic to be quite thorough.”
“I’ve read them,” Sebarial said. “But if Queen Navani wakes, she’ll discover that most of her power has been stripped away! She’ll be furious.”
“When my aunt wakes,” Renarin said, “she’ll accept that the world has progressed, and a queen can lead without being a ruler. I think you’ll find her excited by the prospect.” He turned to the still-glowing lights in the walls of Urithiru. “Besides, I expect she’ll have plenty to do."
[...]
“Come,” Jasnah said, walking back down. “Your father’s work is finished. Ours is merely beginning.”
