Excited to be here. I'm new to forum posting in general, so apologies in advance if I mess up on some of the etiquette. But I've read all of the currently published Cosmere materials, and this forum felt like the best way to continue feeding my addiction. I'm very interested in people's theories on the long-term fate of the Cosmere, so I think I'll mostly be in the Spoiler Zone.

It seems I've got many years-worth of WoB content to go through too. I wasn't really aware that so much of that kind of content exists until recently. I've tried avoiding most online resources until I was all caught up on the books to avoid spoilers. But now that there's nothing left for me to be spoiled on, I'm diving in headfirst!

Oh, I'm also big on TTRPGs, and I've got a group of friends that are ready to play the Cosmere RPG as soon as it releases. So, I may be around those parts of the forum as well.

Welcome to the Shard! If you had to choose a Cosmere planet to live on and one to vacation on which would you pick?

What Cosmere character would you most like to meet in person, and have you read any non-cosmere Sanderson?

Thanks! I think I'd like to meet Zahel. I've got a lot of questions for that man. And the only non-cosmere Sanderson that I've read so far is the Reckoners series.

Thanks! I've been playing DnD 5e since 2015. I've sampled a few others, but we always seem to get pulled back into DnD. I think because it's just the system that everyone at the table feels familiar with. But I am so excited for the Cosmere RPG. We've already started a campaign with the beta rules and some temporary homebrew until the rest of the official rules are released. It may quickly jump to being my favorite.

Thank you! Nalthis sounds like the safest to live on currently. Sel sounds like a great vacation spot just so I can see Elantris (though the trip there would be tricky).

Thank you! That's a tough one. I'd have to say:

Spoiler

Slider. Bendalloy may be toxic and harder to come by.. But it's just such a cool ability with such great utility.

What about you?

Hey there! Welcome to the Shard! :D

Thanks for telling us what you've read! :D

What's your favorite type of spren?

Ooh. Controversial pick. But I think I'd have to go with Ash Spren. Because I also like to take things apart. And

Spoiler

Dustbringers have access to some pretty cool Surges. Plus, I just like their designs. In both the Physical and Cognitive Realms.

Nice! Great answer! :D

Just a little tip- when you put spoilers in spoiler boxes, you might want to label them as spoilers

So, for example-

WoK spoilers:

Spoiler

Kaladin such-and-such

Something like that :D

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the tip!

The Sharder FAQ has informtion on searching the Coppermind and Arcanum. I also highly recommend adding the Annotations to your re-reads. Annotations are free on Brandon' site (navigating them has become a bit more difficult since the site "upgrade") - so here are links:

They add a mix of trivia, information that did not make the book, character backgrounds and motives, etc. as well as explanation as to why the author made some of the decisions he made. The were, for the most part, written during the copy edit of the book while preparign for the first publication. I enjoyed them enough that I added them to my personal eBook copies (warbreaker ePub comes with annotations already loaded - or mine did when I bought it years ago which is what gave me the idea).

The Annotations are in the Arcanum as WoBs, but are more difficult to follow there (for me) because they are by "subject" rather than by Chapter, so sometimes when an Annotation reads "in this chapter I . . . " you have to dig to figure out what chapter he means and which events are being referenced.

- - -

As far as WoBs are concerned - some people will just read entire Events at one sitting (example Goodreads Q&A 2010 has 32 WoBs). I did not enjoy that experience because any given "event" had WoBs on many different topics. So, my method was to pick a tag I was interested in (such as #Worldbuilding) and order it "oldest first" then read through those WoBs - falling down the rabbit hole of opening a new tag in another window when a WoB I wanted more info on had multiple tags at the bottom. That way I could move from subject to subject, but keep "focused" on one topic at a time (just how I work).

Hope that helps.

Sick I’m with you there. I’d be curious to hear some of your end-of-Cosmere theories too if you have some
