"Yes."

She paused. "Which way is that?"

"C'mon!"

Would now be a good time for the Makers to show up? As they converge in the one room?

Now as in plot-wise? Yeah, seems like a good time. I’m gonna be offline for a while now though, so try not to make any major developments without me

Jidah followed, hating the way her sandals scuffed the floor. They shouldn't be acting that way.

Sigismund froze, and stiffened. "What was that," he breathed. Turning slowly, he readied himself for a spell.

She trembled less this time.

Lati immediately whooshed back towards Jidah.

A few moments later, a figure came into view. It was a elderly man, with pale skin and gray hair. He wore a worn-looking traveling cloak over simple but well-fitted attire, along with sturdy old leather shoes. He also used an ornate metal cane, surface worked with intricate geometric patterns. It became apparent that that was the source of the scraping as he steadily walked toward them. He was quite thin, but his upright posture and stern expression defied any notion of fragility.

He surveyed them with sharp, dark eyes, taking in Sigismund's posture and Jidah's weapon calmly. He spoke with a slightly raspy voice that, while soft, conveyed an authority that demanded to be heard. "Now, now. There won't be a need for any of that, you three."

Sigismund nodded. "Greetings, friend. I am Sigismund, a traveling wizard, and these are my companions. I must ask, who might you be, and, if possible, is there any way you could guide us?"

Jidah relaxed and sheathed her weapon immediately. "Oh good."

"Who I am is not very important. I do have a pressing question, though. Have any of you come across a... lost young adult? Dark hair, light clothing, olive skin." He looked at them intently, clearly expecting that they had and would tell him so.

Jidah grew suspicious.

“I believe so… there was somebody matching that description earlier, heading that direction.” She pointed the wrong way. “Why do you ask?”
